Free Interracial Dating Sites: Best Picks for 2026

The best free interracial online dating sites in 2026 are Hinge, OkCupid and Facebook Dating, because on all three you can match and message without paying. Hinge is the one I’d try first for a relationship, OkCupid suits people who want to screen on values, and Facebook Dating has no paid tier at all. If you want a site where everyone is open to interracial dating, InterracialCupid and AfroRomance are free to join, but a free account there can only answer people who pay.

That last point is the one most “free” lists skip, so this page is built around it: who can start a conversation for free, which free filters help you find people open to dating across racial lines, and what you pay the day free stops working.

Free interracial dating sites at a glance

Ratings are out of 5. Where I have a full review, the rating comes from it and is linked. Free features from each platform’s help center or FAQ, checked October 2026.

How I ranked them

I have not used these sites for this ranking. It comes from public information read in October 2026: each platform’s help center, FAQ and terms, its App Store or Google Play listing, Pew Research data and the FTC’s romance scam guidance. Reviewed sites keep their published rating. The others are scored on the same five points, each 1 to 5 and averaged to the half point: value for money, safety and verification, evidence of an active user base, features for interracial daters, and transparency about prices and renewals. Because this page is about free use, the order puts “can I actually talk to someone without paying” ahead of how interracial the branding is.

Free, freemium or free to reply: who has to pay to chat

Every site on this page is free to join. What differs is the moment the paywall appears, and there are three models:

  • 100% free: no paid tier. Facebook Dating is the only big example.
  • Match, then chat: you like profiles, and once the like is mutual you message for free. Hinge, OkCupid and Bumble work this way. What you pay for is speed: more likes, seeing who liked you, extra filters.
  • Free to reply: you can create a profile, browse and answer messages, but only a paying member can start a conversation. Most dedicated interracial sites work this way, which means a free account only works if someone else pays.
Diagram of three free models: Facebook Dating and match-then-chat apps need nobody to pay, free-to-reply sites need one member to pay
Based on each platform’s help center or FAQ, checked October 2026.

The free-to-reply model is not a scam, and it can work for you: if you are the one getting messages, you can carry on a whole conversation without paying. If you are the one who wants to write first, it is a paid site with a free preview.

1. Hinge: best free option for an interracial relationship

Hinge’s App Store listing says plainly that “the app is free to use”, and it has 4.4 stars from about 1.1 million ratings (October 2026). Its subscription help page confirms that matching and messaging are included for free members. The limits: free users get “only a select number of likes per day”, see one incoming like at a time, one Undo per week and one free Rose per week.

What makes Hinge the top free pick here is its filters. Hinge’s preferences page lists Ethnicity among the filters every user gets, next to religion, age and distance, and you can mark any of them as flexible. Hinge explains it added the option after requests from minority users and keeps a zero-tolerance policy on racism.

Who it suits: anyone who wants something serious and lives where Hinge is busy. The catch: the daily like cap means you have to choose carefully, and nothing on Hinge tells you who is open to interracial dating unless they say so. My Hinge review rates it 4.5 out of 5. Start at hinge.co.

2. OkCupid: best for messaging free and screening on values

OkCupid’s help center answers the question directly in “Is OkCupid really free?”: accounts are “entirely free, forever”, mutual Likes are always visible for free, and “messaging on OkCupid is completely free” once you both Like each other. You can also send an Intro before a match. On the App Store it has 4.3 stars from about 289,000 ratings.

The long profiles and match questions are the real draw for interracial dating, because you can see how someone answers questions about family, politics or religion before you write. Ethnicity sits among the background preferences you can set for free, but OkCupid says it has no hard filters: people who fit come first, and others may still show up.

Who it suits: people who want to stay free and talk about values early. The catch: free accounts have a daily Like limit, and Dealbreakers, seeing who likes you and unlimited Likes are paid, per OkCupid’s paid features page. My OkCupid review gives it 4 out of 5. Visit OkCupid.

3. Facebook Dating: best if you never want to pay

Meta’s September 2025 announcement calls Facebook Dating “a free dating experience within the Facebook app” and says the goal is to help people meet without “paying to unlock product features”. It also says hundreds of thousands of US and Canadian adults aged 18 to 29 create a profile each month. Meta’s help page sets the rules: you must be 18 or older, your Facebook account must be at least 30 days old, and Dating only works in the Facebook app on Android or iPhone, not on a computer.

Who it suits: anyone already on Facebook who wants a true $0 option. The catch: it has no interracial focus, and Meta’s help pages I read do not document an ethnicity preference, so you rely on your own profile and browsing. Facebook Dating has no review on this site yet. My score: 4 out of 5 (value 5, safety 3.5, active users 4, features 3, transparency 4.5). Open it from the menu of the Facebook app or at facebook.com/dating.

4. Bumble: best free app for women who want to make the first move

Bumble’s paid features page says “Bumble works great even without” paying; Premium adds seeing who already liked you, advanced filters, Incognito and Travel Mode. Its App Store listing shows 4.3 stars from about 1.8 million ratings. In matches between men and women, the woman sends the first message.

For interracial dating the useful part is free: Bumble’s ethnicity preferences sit under Basic filters, are available only in the US and Canada, and require you to add your own ethnicity first. Bumble says it will show those people first, not only them.

Who it suits: women who like controlling the first message, and anyone who wants ID verification on a big app. The catch: matches expire if nobody writes in time, and extending them is paid. My Bumble review rates it 4 out of 5. Visit Bumble.

5. InterracialCupid: best dedicated site, if someone pays first

InterracialCupid is part of Cupid Media, which says on the InterracialCupid home page that it runs over 30 niche dating sites. Its Google Play app has 3.9 stars from about 16,200 ratings, 1M+ downloads and an update on October 22, 2026, the strongest sign of an active pool among the dedicated sites here. The home page links only a Google Play app, so iPhone users get the website.

Here is the free rule to know before you sign up. Cupid Media’s membership page says a free Standard member can “send interest to other members and communicate with other paying members”, and its message help page adds that a Standard member “cannot read or reply to messages from other Standard members”. Two free members can only send each other interest.

Who it suits: people who want everyone on the site to be open to interracial dating. The catch: prices only appear after you register. My score: 3 out of 5 (value 3, safety 3, active users 3.5, features 3.5, transparency 2.5). Visit InterracialCupid.

6. AfroRomance: best free niche site for Black and white singles

The AfroRomance FAQ says you can “register, create a profile, add photos, flirt and reply to messages with members for free”. Starting a new conversation is a paid feature, and the same FAQ says the site “does not conduct background checks”. It focuses on Black and white couples, though you can search other backgrounds.

Who it suits: Black and white singles who like a classic website and are happy to wait for paying members to write. The catch: no app, and no prices before you register. My AfroRomance review gives it 2.5 out of 5. Visit AfroRomance.

7. Swirlr: best for multicultural daters who prefer a website

Swirlr is for dating across any backgrounds, not only Black and white. The Swirlr FAQ gives free members the same rights as AfroRomance: register, add photos, flirt and reply for free. It also states that Swirlr does not run background checks. Its footer names the same owner as AfroRomance, Chellaul Corporation.

Who it suits: people who want a search-and-message site with every background on it. The catch: no store app and no public price list. My Swirlr review rates it 2.5 out of 5. It is not the Swirl app, which my Swirl review rates 1.5. Visit Swirlr.

8. InterracialDating.com: same network, older brand

InterracialDating.com holds two spots in Google’s top 10 for this search. Its FAQ lists the same free rights (register, add photos, flirt, reply), its sign-up page promises you can view unlimited profiles and see who is flirting with you, and its footer names Chellaul Corporation too, with the same “no background checks” line.

Who it suits: honestly, the same person as AfroRomance and Swirlr. The catch: the AfroRomance terms (effective September 15, 2025) say profiles “may be shared with other sites” the operator runs. Joining all three mostly gets you the same people three times, so pick one. My score: 2.5 out of 5 (value 2.5, safety 2, active users 2.5, features 2.5, transparency 2.5). Visit InterracialDating.com.

Free filters that help you find people open to interracial dating

None of the top results mention it, but the big apps now let you set ethnicity preferences for free. They work differently:

  • Hinge: a filter for all users, strict unless you tick “Show profiles outside of this preference”. Preferences are private.
  • Bumble: a Basic filter in the US and Canada that puts people first rather than hiding everyone else. You must add your own ethnicity to use it.
  • OkCupid: a soft preference. OkCupid has no hard filters, so you will still see some people outside it.

If you are open to everyone, leave these blank: filtering narrows your pool. If you are looking for a specific mix, a free preference on a big app often finds more people near you than a niche site whose members you cannot message for free. Then say what you want in your profile, in one plain line, so the people reading it know.

When free stops: what upgrading costs

Pew Research found that 35% of online daters have ever paid to use a dating site or app, so most people never do. If you decide to, these are the prices listed for in-app purchase on the US App Store. Apple does not say which length each price covers, so read them as a range.

Prices checked October 2026. If you do upgrade, buy the shortest plan first and switch off auto-renewal straight away: Hinge’s listing, like every App Store subscription, renews unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the period ends. On the niche sites, upgrade only after you have seen real, active profiles near you, since paying is the only way to write first.

Free interracial apps to approach with caution

Three of Google’s top 10 for this search are small Google Play apps, and the listings tell you more than the marketing does:

  • Luma (rank 1): its listing shows 4.2 stars from 383 ratings and 10K+ downloads, and in the same paragraph says “All profiles are verified” and “Photos are for illustration only.” Both cannot help you trust a profile.
  • BeMixed (rank 2): its listing has 3.3 stars from 37 ratings and was last updated on October 29, 2024. An app nobody maintains is unlikely to have a busy pool.
  • Interracial Singles Club (rank 8): its listing shows 1K+ downloads, no star rating and a last update on September 5, 2023.
My verdict: Flirtini, which also ranks for this search, is a hookup app, not a free interracial dating site. Its interracial page pitches “interracial hookups” and claims over 1 million active users without backing it up, and its App Store listing (sold by XYMARA LTD) sells Premium from $4.99 to $29.99. If you want a relationship, skip it.

Zoosk’s interracial page in the same results is Zoosk’s own advert, not a comparison. See my Zoosk review if you are weighing it.

How to choose: if you are X, pick Y

  • You want a relationship and to pay nothing: Hinge, with the ethnicity preference left flexible or blank.
  • You want to talk values before looks: OkCupid.
  • You refuse to ever pay: Facebook Dating. My completely free dating apps list has the other true $0 options.
  • You are a woman who wants to write first: Bumble.
  • You want everyone to be open to interracial dating: InterracialCupid, or one (only one) of AfroRomance, Swirlr or InterracialDating.com, knowing a free account mostly lets you reply.
  • You live in a small town: one big app plus one niche site, since niche pools thin out fast outside cities.

If you are specifically looking for Black singles, my Black and interracial dating sites hub covers BLK, BlackPeopleMeet and the rest, and my free dating sites hub covers free apps beyond this niche.

How to make a free account work

  • Complete your profile before you like anyone. With a daily like cap, every like should land on a profile that can see who you are.
  • Lead with you, not with race. Work, hobbies, what you want. A first message that opens with someone’s skin color reads as fetishization, and you can block and report it on every app here.
  • On free-to-reply sites, be findable. Since paying members have to write first, clear recent photos and a filled-in profile are what get you messages.
  • Ask about the person, not their background. Culture and family come up naturally once you know each other.

Safety on free interracial dating sites

Free platforms have no paywall to slow down fake accounts, and the niche sites here say outright that they run no background checks. The FTC’s romance scam guidance applies everywhere:

  • Never send money or gifts to someone you have not met in person. Scammers ask for wire transfers, gift cards, payment apps and crypto because they are hard to get back.
  • Be wary of someone who wants to move off the app quickly, says they cannot meet because they live abroad, are deployed or work on an oil rig, or talks about love within days.
  • Run a reverse image search on photos that look too polished.
  • Use verification where it exists (Hinge’s Selfie Verification, Bumble’s ID verification), video chat before meeting, meet in a public place and tell a friend.
  • Report fakes on the app, and report scams at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

InterracialCupid encourages international matches, and long distance is the classic excuse for never meeting. My guide to online dating scams walks through the common scripts, and the safest dating apps ranking compares verification tools.

Frequently asked questions

Which dating site has free chatting?

OkCupid says messaging is completely free once you both Like each other, and Hinge and Bumble also let free members message their matches. Facebook Dating has no paid tier at all. On dedicated interracial sites such as InterracialCupid or AfroRomance, a free member can only reply to messages, mostly from paying members.

Are there 100% free interracial dating sites?

Not among the dedicated ones: InterracialCupid, AfroRomance, Swirlr and InterracialDating.com are all free to join, but starting a conversation needs a paid membership. The only big dating service with no paid tier is Facebook Dating, which is open to everyone rather than interracial-focused.

What is a swirler in dating?

Swirl or swirling is slang for interracial dating, most often between Black and white partners, and a swirler is someone who dates that way. The site Swirlr takes its name from the term. Many people simply say interracial dating instead.

Which ethnicity is least desired on dating apps?

No major app publishes current data on this, and old figures passed around online are not a reliable guide today. What you can control is who you see: Hinge, Bumble and OkCupid offer free ethnicity preferences, and every app here lets you block and report messages that reduce you to your race.

Which dating app do black people use the most?

No app publishes usage by race, and Pew Research found no significant difference by race in whether US adults have used online dating. Big apps like Hinge, Bumble and OkCupid have the largest pools, while BLK and BlackPeopleMeet are the best-known apps built for Black singles.
