iHappy Review 2026: Legit or Waste of Money?
The iHappy dating app is a real Android app from a Czech company, not an outright scam, but I would not pay for it in October 2026. It is free to like, match and chat, yet the most-upvoted Google Play reviews describe an ad after nearly every tap, profiles that look like bots, and a location setting that shows everyone as nearby. If you want a free app to meet someone real in a US city, there are better places to start, beginning with my serious dating apps page.
What is the iHappy dating app, and who runs it?
iHappy is sold on Google Play as “Dating and Chat - iHappy” under the developer name “ihappydate”. Its Google Play listing describes it as an app “created for men and women who want real dating and meaningful relationships”, while also welcoming casual dating. The listing shows it has been live since March 18, 2020, was last updated August 7, 2026, is rated Mature 17+, and carries both ads and in-app purchases.
The company behind it is FlintCast s.r.o. The “About the developer” box on the Play listing gives a Prague address, and the iHappy terms of use (last updated September 29, 2026) give the same company, its Czech registration number, and say Czech law governs the contract. The iHappy website is a single page with download buttons, a short feature list and a support email (support@ihappydate.com). There is no help center and no price list.
iHappy’s sister apps: your profile may not stay on iHappy
FlintCast does not run one dating app, it runs a family of them. Section 5.6 of the terms says your profile and content may be shown on “Associated Platforms” and names SweetMeet, EverMatch, Curvy, Maybe You, iHappy and Talkie Live. The same company also publishes a video chat app, Chat Online: Talkie Live, on the same Google Play developer page.
In practice: if you install iHappy, SweetMeet and Evermatch to “widen your search”, you may be looking at one shared pool of people. I covered the same setup in my Evermatch review, which got 2.5 out of 5 for the same reasons as this one.
Who iHappy is for
- Might suit: an Android user who wants a free chat-and-match app, does not mind ads, and is open to talking with people from other cities or countries.
- Skip it if: you are on an iPhone, you want to filter by distance in a US city, you want identity verification before you chat, or you want clear subscription terms before you pay.
- LGBTQ+ daters: the review on the download site Malavida says the app is only for men seeking women and women seeking men. The store listing only mentions “men and women”, so look elsewhere, starting with my LGBTQ+ dating sites page.
How matching and messaging work
The iHappy homepage lays out a simple flow:
- Create a profile (the Malavida review notes it takes only a few fields at first; you can fill it in later).
- iHappy suggests people based on your preferences, such as personality, appearance, interests and outlook.
- Send a Like. If the other person likes you back, it is a Match and you can chat.
- You can decline profiles, report unwanted ones and block users.
The store screenshots also show a “visitors” list of who viewed your profile. The weak spot is location. The listing promises “singles nearby”, but several of the most-upvoted reviews say the opposite: one 2-star review with 3,112 “helpful” votes says every person is listed at your own location, so you cannot tell where anyone really is, and a 3-star review says there is no way to filter by distance, so matches arrive “from all over the world”.
Is iHappy free? What you pay and what you get
Downloading, liking, matching and chatting are free. The catch is ads: the free version is funded by them, and the Play reviews describe a video or full-screen ad when you open a profile, send a message, switch tabs or close the app.
Paid options exist, but iHappy does not publish a price list. Here is everything that is public:
| What | What the official sources say |
|---|---|
| Download and chat | Free (Google Play lists the app at $0) |
| In-app purchases (US) | $1.49 to $54.99 per item, per the Google Play listing |
| Plan names and lengths | Not published on the website, the listing or the terms |
| Auto-renewal and refunds | Not covered in the terms; they only say the company can close an account without a refund |
| Ads | Yes, labeled “Contains ads” on Google Play |
Prices checked October 2026. One 5-star review says a subscription exists but is not needed to chat; another reviewer mentions a free trial. Because the plan terms are not written down anywhere public, you only see the real price and renewal period on the Google Play checkout screen. Read it before you tap, and assume anything labeled a subscription renews until you cancel it in Google Play.
Is there an iPhone app?
No. A search of the US App Store in October 2026 turned up no iHappy listing; the app is Android only (Android 6.0 or later). Several download sites, including APKPure, offer the APK file (version 1.1.53, August 21, 2026), which requests 40 permissions including camera, microphone and location. Get it from Google Play instead: a store install gets Google’s checks and lets you cancel purchases in one place.
Fake profiles, bots and complaints
On Google Play, iHappy has 4.1 stars from 172K ratings and 50M+ downloads (October 2026). That is a lot of people, but the reviews Google ranks as most helpful paint a rougher picture:
- Ads everywhere: the top reviews describe an ad on almost every action; one reviewer uninstalled after 10 minutes.
- Bots: a 1-star review from April 2026 (72 helpful votes) says it is “literally all bots” and that the bots’ location changes when yours does. The developer replied that suspicious profiles can be reported to support.
- Money and ID requests: a 3-star reviewer says many women on the app are “suffering from some type of crisis” and need help, ask for ID, and push the chat to other apps, where they cannot be banned. That is the classic romance scam pattern.
- Location: profiles that say “local” but are in other states or countries.
- Account blocks: one paying user says the automated security system restricted the account twice, wiping conversations.
Not every review is negative: some 5-star reviewers say the people they talked to were real and that the ads are short. The pattern is still clear enough that I would treat every new match as unverified until you have video-chatted.
Safety and verification
The website lists report and block tools and claims 24/7 support. The terms require users to be 18 or older, ban impersonation, bots, spam and posting contact or banking details in a profile, and promise a reply to reports within 24 hours. They also say the company “may, but has no obligation to, monitor” what users post. None of the official pages describe photo or ID verification.
What to do on iHappy, or any app like it:
- Never send money, gift cards, crypto or a photo of your ID, whatever the story.
- Be wary of anyone who wants to move to WhatsApp or Telegram right away.
- Video-chat before you meet, then meet in a public place and tell a friend.
- Report the profile in the app, and report money requests to the FTC.
Privacy: who gets your data
The Google Play data safety section says iHappy may share your location, device IDs and app performance data with other companies, and collects your messages, photos, purchase history and, optionally, political or religious beliefs. The privacy policy names its ad partners (Facebook, Google AdMob, AppLovin, MyTarget, MoPub, UnityAds) and analytics tools (AppMetrica, AppsFlyer), and says data may be transferred to the United States and other countries. Keep your profile light on personal details.
iHappy pros and cons
Pros
- Free to like, match and chat.
- Very large install base (50M+ downloads) and updated in 2026.
- Report and block tools, with a 24-hour response promise in the terms.
- Quick sign-up.
Cons
- Ads after almost every action in the free version.
- No published plan names, lengths or renewal terms.
- Recurring bot and scam complaints; no verification described.
- Weak location matching; no iPhone app.
- Profiles may be shared with sister apps (SweetMeet, Evermatch, Curvy, Maybe You, Talkie Live).
How to cancel iHappy and delete your account
Uninstalling the app does not stop a subscription. If you bought one, cancel it first in Google Play: open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, iHappy, Cancel (Google’s guide).
Then delete the account. Per section 8 of the terms, open Settings, then Application settings, and tap Delete Account. iHappy keeps the profile for 30 days in case you come back, and messages you sent may stay visible to the people who got them. For full erasure of your data, the privacy policy says to email privacy@ihappydate.com.
iHappy alternatives
If you want a free app with a real local pool, these have live reviews on this site:
- Hinge (4.5/5 in my review): the one I would try first for a relationship in a US city. Visit Hinge.
- OkCupid (4/5): question-based matching, and a better fit if you are LGBTQ+.
- Plenty of Fish (3.5/5): a long-running free option for relationship seekers.
- Badoo (3.5/5): the closest like-for-like swap: a free chat-and-match app from a bigger company.
- MeetMe (3/5): if you mostly want to chat with new people.
How I rate it
I give iHappy 2.5 out of 5. The rating is based on public information, not hands-on use: the pricing shown on its Google Play listing, the features and safety tools described on its website, terms and privacy policy, its app store reputation (ratings and the most-upvoted reviews), and value for money, all checked in October 2026. Scores: value for money 2, safety and verification 2, evidence of an active user base 3.5, features for its audience 2.5, transparency (pricing, renewal, cancellation) 1.5.
Frequently asked questions
Is the iHappy dating app legit?
iHappy is a real app published by FlintCast s.r.o., a company registered in Prague, with 50M+ downloads on Google Play. That does not make every profile real: many of its most-helpful reviews complain about bots and scam-style messages, so treat new matches as unverified until you have video-chatted.
Is iHappy free?
Yes, you can download it, like, match and chat for free, but the free version shows ads after most actions. Google Play lists optional in-app purchases from $1.49 to $54.99 per item in the US (October 2026), and iHappy does not publish what each plan includes.
Is iHappy available on iPhone?
No. In October 2026 iHappy is only on Android through Google Play, and a search of the US App Store found no listing. Avoid APK files from download sites and install it from Google Play.
How do I delete my iHappy account?
Cancel any subscription in Google Play first, then in the app open Settings, Application settings and tap Delete Account. The terms say the profile is kept for 30 days in case you return, and you can email privacy@ihappydate.com to ask for full erasure of your data.
Is iHappy connected to SweetMeet and Evermatch?
Yes. All three are run by FlintCast s.r.o., and iHappy's terms say your profile may be shown on associated platforms including SweetMeet, EverMatch, Curvy, Maybe You and Talkie Live.
