Chyrpe Review 2026: Legit or Waste of Money?

The Chyrpe dating app is legit: it is a real, verified-profile dating app for female-led relationships (FLR) and femdom, run by a registered UK company, with more than a million downloads claimed and frequent updates. Whether it is worth paying for is another question: free accounts can match and message, but most extras are sold as weekly plans of about $18 to $25, and Google Play reviewers score it 2.7 stars. Use it free if you want a woman-led dynamic from the first message; pay only for a single week, and only once you can see people near you.

My verdict: A real niche app with a genuinely different design (women control who can write to them, men must open with a written "Love Letter", and everyone passes a selfie check). It is not a scam, but the weekly pricing, the waiting list and a thin user base outside a few regions make paid plans a gamble. Best for dominant or leading women and for men who want a woman to lead; skip it if you want a big mainstream pool or explicit kink chat, which its filters block by default.

What is Chyrpe, and who runs it?

Chyrpe calls itself "the dating app for female-led relationships (FLR), femdom & dominant women", for "powerful women and those who cherish them" (chyrpe.com). Its FAQ draws a line between the two: an FLR is about who leads the relationship, femdom is a consensual power dynamic, and the app welcomes both.

The app launched in May 2024. Wikipedia names Christopher Holzhauser as CEO and founder, and the Terms of Use name the operator: Greenrocks Development Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 15314625), 128 City Road, London. The same company is the seller on the App Store and the developer on Google Play. Chyrpe is app only: iPhone (iOS 16 or later) and Android, with no web version for dating.

Who Chyrpe is for (and who should skip it)

    • Good fit: women who want to set the terms from the first message, and men who want a woman to lead and are willing to put effort into a written opener. Chyrpe's own blog leans toward coaching women to state what they want plainly, which tells you who the product is built around.
    • Also a fit: people who want an FLR as a long-term relationship rather than a kink hookup. Chyrpe's FAQ says kink "is only a small part" of female-led relationships.
    • Poor fit: anyone who wants a large local pool in a small city, anyone who wants explicit chat by default, and men who expect a Tinder-style swipe-and-message flow.
    • Not for: anyone under 18. The terms require members to be 18 or over, and the App Store rates it 18+.

How the Chyrpe dating app works

You sign up with a phone number, verify yourself with a selfie, fill in a profile that can include your role (leading, following, switch), the relationship types you want and optional kink preferences, then wait for a place in the queue (more on that below). After that, it looks like a normal swipe app with three big differences, all described on Chyrpe's femdom dating page:

    • The Power Board: women decide who may approach them, what they can send and when. The store screenshots show toggles such as allowing messages, "spicy talk", short messages and profile visits, plus custom rules. Explicit content is blocked by default.
    • Love Letters: a man cannot fire off a one-line opener. To start a conversation he writes a Love Letter, and she decides whether it earns a reply.
    • Reply windows: the homepage says women can set how long a connection has to reply, which is Chyrpe's answer to ghosting.

Women can also use a profile feedback tool to tell men how to improve their profiles, according to the App Store listing. Wikipedia adds that free users are limited to eight swipes a day; Chyrpe does not publish its current limit, so treat that number as a guide.

One quirk to know before you join: automatic moderation is strict. An App Store review from January 2026 complains that words like "dominant", "submissive" and "kink" get blocked in messages and profiles. If you want open kink talk, the women's settings decide what gets through.

    The waiting list

New members do not get in straight away. Both store listings say Chyrpe uses "a fair waiting list" to keep the community balanced, and sells optional speed-ups whose proceeds, it says, go toward moving the line faster for everyone. The company does not publish wait times. Google Play reviewers mention waiting before they could use the app, and the developer replied in 2024 that the list "moves every day". My advice: never pay to skip the line before you know there are active members within reach of your city.

Is Chyrpe free? Plans and prices

Yes, there is a free version. The FAQ says so, and the developer's App Store replies say free users can match and message. A Google Play review from February 2025 agrees that "messaging is free if you match", but calls the paywall "near immediate". Chyrpe has no pricing page on its website, so the only public prices are the in-app purchase lists on the stores.

In-app item (App Store, US)PriceWhat we know
Free account$0Profile, limited daily likes, match and message
Chyrpe Gold (1 week)$19.99See who likes you and send more likes (store listing)
Chyrpe Evolved (1 week)$17.99 or $24.99"Further features"; listed twice at two prices
Chyrpe Devotion (1 week)$19.99Not described publicly
    Chyrpe Worship (1 week / 1 month)$24.99 / $29.99Not described publicly
Chyrpe Divine$7.99 or $14.99Not described publicly; listed twice
    Chyrpe Standard$3.99Not described publicly
    3 Roses$9.99Highlighted likes

Prices checked October 2026 on the App Store listing; the Google Play listing only says the app has in-app purchases. Prices in the app can differ by country and by account.

    What a month really costs

This is where Chyrpe gets expensive. Most plans are weekly, and weekly plans renew every week. Four weeks of Gold at $19.99 is about $80, and four weeks of the $24.99 Evolved tier is about $100, more than most mainstream apps charge for a month. The only monthly item on the list is Worship at $29.99. A Google Play reviewer in August 2026 described paying $8 a week, being asked to pay $25 a week for more features, and getting no new likes from the boosts that came with the plan.

The paperwork is also muddled. The Terms of Use (last updated March 2025) say "your subscription will automatically renew each month", while the stores sell weekly plans that renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Go by what your app store shows on the purchase screen, and set a reminder before each renewal.

If you pay at all, the cheapest sensible test is one week of Gold, and only after the waiting list has let you in and you can see active profiles near you.

    Safety and verification

Chyrpe's safety pitch is strong. Its femdom page says every user must pass "facial verification and a liveness check (no exceptions)", and the FAQ adds that profiles are vetted by a human team, that reports are checked quickly, and that Chyrpe does not sell your data. The Power Board and the default block on explicit content do more for women's inboxes than a report button ever could.

    What "verified" means on Chyrpe

Here is the part none of the top results mention. The privacy policy describes the check as Selfie Verification: Chyrpe collects your face geometry to confirm you match your photos, then deletes that data promptly. That is a real anti-catfish tool. But the Terms of Use say plainly that Chyrpe "does not conduct criminal background or identity verification checks on its users". So "verified" means a live human face that matches the photos. It does not mean a checked name, age document or clean record. Treat it as one filter, not a guarantee.

Findom, "business" profiles and money requests

Chyrpe allows people who promote paid services to stay on the app, as long as they declare it at sign-up; the FAQ says those accounts are "clearly marked". Wikipedia adds that financial domination (findom) and sugar dating must be declared up front, and that findom profiles are hidden from users who have not opted in. That transparency is better than pretending it does not happen, but it means money requests are part of this app's landscape. Practical rules:

    • Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you met on a dating app, whatever the dynamic. If a profile asks for money and is not labeled as a business, report it.
    • Keep chats in the app until you have done a video call, because the in-app history is what Chyrpe's team reviews when you report.
    • Meet in a public place for the first date, tell a friend where you are, and get there and back on your own.
    • Agree limits before anything private, and remember that a role set in an app is not consent to anything in person.
    • Report suspicious or offensive behavior through the app's settings or by email to support@chyrpe.com, as the terms ask.

Is Chyrpe legit? Ratings, fake profiles and complaints

Chyrpe is a real, active product: version 26.09.200 shipped on the App Store on September 24, and Google Play shows an update on September 21, 2026. Store reputation is split:

    • App Store: 4.0 stars from 3.5K ratings (October 2026). Chyrpe's own About page quotes a 4.1 average and "1m+ downloads".
    • Google Play: 2.7 stars from about 1.5K reviews, 100K+ downloads, rated Mature 17+ (October 2026).

Fake profiles are not the main complaint, which fits the selfie check. The recurring complaints in store reviews are about money and reach: a thin free tier, features such as undo and the spotlight tab moved behind the paywall (a June 2026 Google Play review), likes that never show up in your stack, bugs, and bans without a clear reason. In one 2025 App Store exchange, the developer answered that suspensions follow rule breaks and that the user gets an email explaining why. On the positive side, a February 2025 Google Play reviewer noted that prices are "comparable to most other apps" and that the developers update it often.

The location problem matters too. Wikipedia reports downloads in more than 120 countries, and a global user base spread thin means many matches may be far away. Check who is actually near you before you spend.

A word on the testimonials: the "user reviews" ranking for this search on Instagram are posted by Chyrpe's own account, and its success stories page notes that images "may have been edited with the use of AI" and names may be anonymised. Read them as marketing, not proof.

    Pros and cons

    Pros

    • Built for female-led dynamics from the start, so nobody has to explain or defend them
    • Women control who writes, what they can send and how fast they must reply
    • Mandatory selfie and liveness check for every member
    • Explicit content blocked by default; findom and business profiles must be declared
    • Free users can match and message
    • Updated frequently

    Cons

    • Weekly plans of $17.99 to $24.99 add up to $70 to $100 a month
    • No pricing page, and several tiers (Divine, Devotion, Worship, Standard) are not explained publicly
    • Waiting list before you can use it
    • Small, spread-out user base: 100K+ Android downloads, many matches far away
    • Terms say no identity or background checks despite the "verified" messaging
    • Strict word filters can block ordinary kink vocabulary

How to cancel, get a refund and delete your account

Chyrpe's Terms of Use make leaving a two-sided job: the subscription lives in your app store, the account lives with Chyrpe.

Four steps to leave Chyrpe: cancel in the app store, email Chyrpe, request a refund within 14 days, then delete the account
Steps from Chyrpe's Terms of Use (updated March 2025), checked October 2026.
    1. Cancel the subscription in your app store. On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Chyrpe. On Android: Google Play, your profile, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions. Do it at least 24 hours before the renewal date or you pay for another period.
    2. Email Chyrpe as well. The terms say that to cancel you "can send an email to info@chyrpe.com and you also must cancel your subscription in your app store".
    3. Ask for a refund if you qualify. The terms give a 14-day cooling-off period from your order or account opening, except for subscriptions whose benefits you have started to use. They also say cancellation takes effect at the end of the period with a refund of the unused amount. Email info@chyrpe.com; for App Store purchases, Apple's own refund request is the other route.
    4. Delete the account. Tap "delete account" in the app's settings, or email support@chyrpe.com. You lose all purchases, connections and swipes, and Chyrpe deletes your content except what the law requires it to keep.

    Chyrpe alternatives

    • A bigger kink-friendly pool: Feeld suits open-minded couples and singles, and FetLife is a kink social network with groups and events rather than a dating app.
    • BDSM-focused dating sites: Alt.com, BDSM.com and Kink D let you search by role and interest directly.
    • Women message first, mainstream: Bumble gives women the first move without the femdom framing, with a far larger pool.

The full shortlist is in my BDSM and kink dating sites ranking.

Quick answers to what people also ask

    • What app has an H logo? That is Hinge, a mainstream relationship app; see my Hinge review.
    • What is the 333 rule in dating apps? There is no single official definition; people use it for different personal pacing rules about days, dates and months. On Chyrpe, the equivalent is built in: women set how long a connection has to reply.
    • What is the most secret dating app? No app is fully secret. On Chyrpe, the Power Board can restrict who sees and visits your profile, and you choose how much kink detail to show. Discretion still depends on your photos.
    • What is the least bad dating app? It depends on what you want. For a woman-led dynamic, Chyrpe is the most purpose-built option; for the biggest pool with women messaging first, Bumble.
    • What does GGG mean in dating? "Good, giving and game": a partner who is generous and open to trying things within their limits. It is common shorthand in kink-friendly dating profiles.

    How I rate it

I rate Chyrpe 3 out of 5. The rating is based on public pricing, features, safety tools, app store reputation and value, not on hands-on use, all checked in October 2026. Scores out of 5: value for money 2 (weekly pricing that adds up fast), safety and verification 3.5 (mandatory selfie and liveness check, women-controlled contact, but no identity or background checks), evidence of an active user base 3 (1M+ downloads claimed, 100K+ on Android, regular updates, but thin and spread out), features for its audience 4 (nothing else is built this closely around female-led dating), transparency 2.5 (no price page, unexplained tiers, terms that say monthly for weekly plans, but a clear refund and deletion policy). The average is 3.

    Frequently asked questions

How does the Chyrpe dating app work?

You sign up with a phone number, pass a selfie verification, build a profile with your role and preferences, then wait for a place in the queue. Women use the Power Board to decide who can contact them and what they can send, and men open conversations by writing a Love Letter that she chooses whether to answer.

    Is Chyrpe free?

Yes, there is a free version, and free users can match and message. Extras such as seeing who likes you come with paid plans, most of them weekly, from $17.99 to $24.99 a week on the US App Store (October 2026).

Is Chyrpe legit or a scam?

Chyrpe is legit: it is run by Greenrocks Development Ltd, a registered UK company, and is updated regularly on both app stores. Complaints focus on weekly pricing, the paywall and a thin local user base rather than fake profiles.

How long is the Chyrpe waiting list?

Chyrpe does not publish wait times. Its store listings say it uses a waiting list to keep the community balanced and sells optional speed-ups, so check that people near you are active before paying for anything.

    Who founded Chyrpe?

Chyrpe launched in May 2024. Wikipedia names Christopher Holzhauser as its CEO and founder, and the app is operated by Greenrocks Development Ltd in London.

    How do I cancel Chyrpe?

Cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings at least 24 hours before renewal, and also email info@chyrpe.com, as the terms require. To delete the account, use delete account in the app settings or email support@chyrpe.com.
