Best Friends With Benefits Dating Sites in 2026 (Honest Picks)
The best friend with benefits dating site for most people is Feeld, because it lets you put what you want on your profile and its free version still lets you message your connections. Pick Tinder if you want the biggest pool, AdultFriendFinder if you want a sex-first adult site where nobody pretends to want romance, and HUD if you want a casual-only app with live video verification. Be careful with sites that put “FWB” in their name: the ones that rank for this search are the weakest picks on this page.
Below: the ranking, what each option costs in October 2026, where you say “friends with benefits” on each app, a four-step check for FWB-branded sites, and the safety basics. This list sits in my niche dating sites hub. If you want mainstream apps for casual dating in general rather than a recurring FWB arrangement, my best dating apps for casual dating ranking covers that, and the hookup dating sites category covers one-time hookups.
The best friends with benefits dating sites at a glance

How I ranked them
I have not used these apps for this ranking. It is built from public information: each app’s App Store listing and prices, the operator’s own pages, published safety tools, and the ratings from my original reviews, which I reuse as published (that is why AdultFriendFinder shows 3.8). The order weighs one more thing: how well each one fits a friends with benefits arrangement, meaning a recurring, no-romance connection with someone you like and see again. That is why Hinge, with the highest rating, sits at number six. It is a great app, just not built for this.
Set your expectations with real numbers. In Pew Research’s 2023 findings (survey of July 2022), 24% of recent online daters said casual sex was a major reason they used dating platforms, 31% of men against 13% of women, while 44% were after a long-term partner. On mainstream apps, most people around you want something else. That is why saying “FWB” clearly, in the place each app gives you for it, matters more than which app you pick.
1. Feeld: the best friend with benefits dating app overall
Feeld is built for people who want to be honest about what they want, and an FWB arrangement is exactly that. In my Feeld review I found members write desires such as FWB right on their profile, so the conversation starts from the same page. The App Store listing offers more than 20 gender identities and 20+ sexualities and says you can message your connections on the free version.
The paid tier, Majestic, adds seeing who liked you, private photos for your connections and one free Ping a day. The App Store lists it at $29.99 for 30 days, $49.99 for 90 days and $149.99 for a year, with single Pings at $2.99 (4.3 stars from 102K ratings, October 2026). If your FWB plans include kink, FetLife is a community more than a dating app, but it comes up for that reason.
Who it suits: singles and couples who want to say “FWB” without euphemisms. The catch: plenty of members are couples or non-monogamous, so filter if you want one-on-one. Visit Feeld.
2. Tinder: best for the biggest pool
An FWB needs someone nearby you would want to see again, so the size of the pool matters. Tinder has the biggest pool of the mainstream apps, with 1.8 million App Store ratings alone. Its App Store listing says it matches people on interests and intentions and offers several ways to verify profiles. It shows Tinder Plus at $9.99 and Tinder Gold items from $13.99 to $24.99, without saying how long each lasts, so check inside the app (4.2 stars from 1.8M ratings, October 2026).
Who it suits: anyone in a city who is happy to sort through a lot of profiles. The catch: intentions are mixed, so put “looking for a friends with benefits situation” in plain words in your bio. More in my Tinder review. Visit Tinder.
3. AdultFriendFinder: best sex-first site for FWB
AdultFriendFinder is the opposite of a mainstream app: everyone there is looking for sex, from one-time hookups to recurring arrangements, so you never have to explain yourself. The homepage shows the sign-up form but no prices before you register. In my AdultFriendFinder review I found that free members can browse but messaging needs a paid plan, with Standard around $19.95 a month and Gold around $39.95, and that bots and hard upsells are the main problem.
Two lines in the site’s own footer are worth reading before you pay: “Persons appearing in photographs and videos may not be actual members” and “AdultFriendFinder does not conduct criminal background screening of its members.” The site belongs to FriendFinder Networks (Various, Inc.).
Who it suits: adults in big metro areas who want zero ambiguity. The catch: explicit content everywhere, and you will pay to talk. Visit AdultFriendFinder.
4. HUD: best casual-only app with video verification
HUD calls itself a casual dating app and its glossary defines FWB the way most people mean it: two friends with a sexual relationship and no romantic commitment. Its App Store listing lists Live Video Verification, Photo Protection Blur and video chat with auto blur, and claims more than 20 million members worldwide (a company figure). Prices: 1 Week Premium $14.99, 1 Week Diamond $19.99, 1 Month Diamond $49.99 (4.1 stars from 208K ratings, October 2026).
Read the subscription terms on that listing: the plan renews unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24 hours before the period ends, and “No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period.” See my HUD review.
Who it suits: people who want an app where casual is the default and like the video check. The catch: weekly plans add up fast. Visit HUD.
5. Bumble: best for women who want verified matches
Bumble lets you set Intentions and Looking For on your profile, and its App Store listing pushes ID verification early, plus Share Date to send your date details to a group chat. The listing shows Bumble Premium from $17.99 to $32.99 and Boost from $2.99 to $12.99 (4.3 stars from 1.8M ratings, October 2026). My Bumble review has the full picture.
Who it suits: women who want an FWB with someone whose ID has been checked. The catch: most of the pool wants dating, so you will filter hard. Visit Bumble.
6. Hinge: best for an FWB with someone you genuinely like
The “friends” half of FWB is where Hinge helps: prompts give you a sense of someone’s personality before you meet, and its App Store listing says profiles show dating intentions and relationship type, with Selfie Verification. Paid plans: Hinge Subscription from $14.99 to $34.99 and Hinge+ from $16.99 to $19.99, durations not shown on the listing (4.4 stars from 1.1M ratings, October 2026). See my Hinge review.
Who it suits: people who want chemistry and conversation, not just proximity. The catch: Hinge is built for relationships, and many users will read “casual” as “maybe more later”. Visit Hinge.
7. Pure: best for anonymous, upfront requests
Pure works like personal ads: its App Store listing says you must post your own ad before you can see anyone else’s, and you write the experience you are looking for. Memberships: weekly $13.49, monthly $29.99 (4.3 stars from 87K ratings, October 2026). My Pure review covers how it works.
Who it suits: privacy-first people who want to state terms in one line. The catch: small pool outside big cities. Visit Pure.
8. FriendFinder-X: AdultFriendFinder’s sister site
FriendFinder-X says it caters to “single, not so single, and open couples looking for casual fun with no long-term commitment”, and its footer names the operator, Various, Inc. of Mountain View, California, with the same “may not be actual members” and no-background-check lines as AdultFriendFinder. In my FriendFinder-X review I found Gold at $14.95 to $27.95 a month, photo verification and ConfirmID, and no mobile app.
Who it suits: people who want AFF’s model with a different crowd. The catch: messaging needs Gold. Visit FriendFinder-X.
FWB-branded sites: approach with caution
Search “friend with benefits dating site” and the sites with FWB in their name come up first. I would not put any of them in the ranking, for reasons each one publishes itself:
- FriendsWithBenefits.com: on Trustpilot it scores 1.1 out of 5 from 294 reviews, 97% of them one star, with complaints about scripted replies, paying per message and contacts who refuse to move off the site. The profile is unclaimed. The site itself did not load during this research in October 2026.
- FWBDatingOnly: the homepage claims over 40 million users but names no company, only the domain. Its membership page lists Gold at $20 for one month and $60 for three months, with a third plan labeled “1 Month” at $180, and says nothing about auto-renewal.
- FWB: Friends with Benefits App: the Google Play listing shows 4.3 stars from 5.44K reviews and 100K+ downloads (October 2026), with an individual developer listed in Chengdu, China. The most helpful reviews say free members get a single message and there were too few people nearby to justify paying.
How to tell if an FWB site is a pay-to-chat trap
One thing the ranking pages get wrong: the line “persons appearing in photographs may not be actual members” is not proof of a scam by itself. FWBDatingOnly uses it, but so does the long-running AdultFriendFinder. What separates a real platform from a trap is what sits around that line. Run these four checks before you pay anything:
- Is a company named? Look in the footer and the terms for a company name and address. FriendFinder-X names Various, Inc.; FWBDatingOnly names only its domain. No name, no money.
- Are prices public? Apps show every price on their App Store listing. Hidden prices are not a deal-breaker (AdultFriendFinder hides them), but find them before you enter a card.
- What do reviews say? Read the one- and two-star reviews on the App Store, Google Play or Trustpilot. “Bots”, “scripted” and “credits” repeated across reviews mean skip it.
- Pay for one period only. Buy the shortest plan, then turn off auto-renew right away in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions, or in the site’s account settings.

Where to say “friends with benefits” on each app
The fastest way to waste a month is to hint. Each app gives you a place to say it, so use it, then repeat it in one plain sentence in your bio.
| If you are... | Pick | Where you say FWB |
|---|---|---|
| Open-minded, maybe non-monogamous | Feeld | Desires on your profile |
| In a city, want the most options | Tinder | Intentions, plus your bio |
| Want sex-first, no explaining | AdultFriendFinder | Profile and search preferences |
| Want casual as the default, with video checks | HUD | The whole app is casual |
| A woman who wants ID-verified matches | Bumble | Intentions and Looking For |
| Want a real friend first | Hinge | Dating intentions and relationship type |
| Privacy-first, short and direct | Pure | Your ad |
Only want friends, no benefits? Bumble’s separate app, BFF, is free to download and built for platonic friendships (4.2 stars from 8.7K ratings, October 2026).
Ground rules that keep an FWB working
The forum threads and guides that rank here agree on the basics, and so do I. Say what you want early, in words: “something casual and ongoing, no relationship”. Agree on the few things that cause trouble later: how often you see each other, whether either of you sees other people, how you talk about sexual health and protection, and what happens if one of you starts wanting more. Do not put relationship-level effort into texting, and check in now and then on where you both stand. The golden rule most people quote is simple: if one of you catches feelings, say so and let the other person decide, rather than quietly hoping.
Safety before you meet an FWB
- Verify first. Prefer people with a verified badge (Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, HUD) or ask for a short video call. A reverse image search of their photos takes a minute.
- Meet in public the first time, get there on your own, and tell a friend where you are. Bumble’s Share Date does this inside the app.
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you have not met. The FTC’s romance scam guide lists the classic moves: a fast push off the app, excuses for not meeting, then a money request.
- Report fake or abusive profiles in the app, and report fraud to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a dating app just for friends?
Yes. Bumble runs a separate app, Bumble BFF, built for platonic friendships, and it is free to download. Feeld also lets members list friendship as a desire, but most of its users are there for dating or sex.
Are friends with benefits websites legit?
Some are, many are not. Established platforms like Feeld, Tinder, HUD and AdultFriendFinder name their operator and show their prices or store listings. Several sites with FWB in their name name no company, hide plan terms or score very low on Trustpilot, so check before you pay.
Are friends with benefits technically dating?
Not in the usual sense. A friends with benefits arrangement is a friendship with a sexual relationship and no romantic commitment, no exclusivity and no plans for a future together, unless both people agree to change that.
What is the golden rule of FWB?
Be honest early and keep being honest. Agree on what the arrangement is at the start, check in now and then, and if one of you starts wanting more, say so instead of hoping the other person notices.
How often do friends with benefits see each other?
There is no standard, and no reliable study gives an average. It is whatever both people agree on, which is why meeting frequency is one of the first things worth talking about.
How long does the average FWB last?
There is no solid average to quote: arrangements end when one person meets a partner, catches feelings or moves. Treat it as open-ended and revisit it regularly rather than expecting a set timeline.
