Best Free Senior Dating Sites Over 60 in 2026 (Really Free)
The best free senior dating sites over 60 are Facebook Dating if you want to pay nothing at all, Plenty of Fish if you want a big pool and free chat with your matches, and OurTime if you only want to meet people over 50 and still chat for free once you match. Stitch is the free pick for friends and outings, and SeniorMatch suits cautious daters who are happy to reply rather than write first.
“Free” on a senior site usually means free to join and paid to talk. Below, each pick says what a free member can actually do, according to the company’s own help center, pricing page or store listing, whether it works on a computer or only on a phone, and how to stay free without a surprise charge. If you are open to paying, my best online dating sites for over 60 ranking covers the paid side.

How I ranked them
I have not used these apps for this ranking. It is built from public information: each company’s help center, pricing page and App Store or Google Play listing, Meta’s own announcements, Pew Research data on daters over 50, the FBI’s and FTC’s scam reports, and what my original hands-on reviews found where I have one. The order puts what a free member can actually do first (above all, whether you can start a conversation without paying), then how many people over 60 you are likely to find, then safety tools and how easy the site is to use on the device you have. Ratings from my full reviews are reused as published. SeniorMatch, Stitch and Finally are rated on the same five-point rubric as my other senior pages: value, safety and verification, active user base, features for older daters, and transparency about prices and renewal. Facebook Dating has no review yet, so it has no rating.
Who is actually online after 60
This decides where a free profile is worth your time. In Pew Research Center’s survey of older online daters, 14% of Americans in their 60s and 12% of those 70 and older had ever used a dating site or app, against 23% of people in their 50s. Only 3% of adults 50 and older had used one in the past year.
The same survey shows where they go. Half (50%) of online daters 50 and older had used Match. Tinder fades fast with age: 6% of online daters in their 60s and 1% of those 70 and older had used it. And on paying, the gap is about men: men 65 and older who date online are 22 percentage points more likely than women their age to have paid for it.
What that means for a free plan: after 60 the pool is thin, so pick sites where a free member can reach people (Plenty of Fish, OurTime, OkCupid, Facebook Dating), set your age range on day one, and widen your distance more than you would at 40. Swipe apps built for twenty-somethings are mostly empty of your peers, free or not.
1. Facebook Dating: best if you want to pay nothing at all
Facebook Dating is the one option here with no paid tier. Meta calls it “a free dating experience within the Facebook app” and says it wants people to meet without “paying to unlock product features” (Meta, September 2025). According to Meta’s launch announcement, you opt in from the latest version of the Facebook app, you must be 18 or older, and your Dating profile is separate from your main profile. The same post says people cannot send photos, links, payments or videos in Dating messages, which blocks two classic scam moves inside the chat.
Who it suits: anyone over 60 already on Facebook who wants zero cost and zero subscriptions to manage. The catch: Meta’s own growth figures are about adults 18 to 29, so how many people your age are nearby depends on where you live, and Meta describes it as part of the Facebook app, so plan on using it on a phone or tablet. Visit Facebook Dating.
2. Plenty of Fish: best big pool with free chat
Plenty of Fish has a senior dating page that says it has singles in their 50s, 60s, 70s and even 80s, and that you can text, video chat or voice chat. Its Google Play listing sets out the free rules: when you match in Meet Me, you get unlimited messaging with each other, and you can send one First Contact a day to someone you have not matched with. The listing also describes Selfie Verification and Share My Date, which sends your date details to a friend or relative. It has 50M+ downloads and 3.7 stars from 1.67M reviews.
In my Plenty of Fish review I found the free messaging limited to one first contact a day, and the app also runs on a desktop computer, which many people over 60 prefer for typing. Paying is optional: the App Store listing shows a week at $19.99 and a month at $29.99 (4.3 stars from 1.8M ratings, October 2026).
Who it suits: people in smaller towns who need the numbers, and anyone who wants to write first without paying. The catch: a mixed crowd of ages and intentions, so filter hard. Visit Plenty of Fish.
3. OurTime: best free chat with people over 50
OurTime is Match Group’s site for singles over 50, and its App Store listing speaks directly to “50, 65 or beyond”. Free when you join: a profile with photos, Search, Topics for sharing stories, and curated daily matches, and you can start chatting once you match. Premium adds seeing who liked you, read receipts, a profile boost and Super Likes. The listing mentions profile moderation and fraud detection.
If you upgrade, it is $19.99 for a week, $39.99 for a month or $89.99 for six months (3.9 stars from 71K ratings, October 2026). My OurTime review rates it 3.5.
Who it suits: anyone who only wants to see people their own stage of life and is fine waiting for a mutual like. The catch: no photo verification badge is mentioned, so use the scam checks below. Visit OurTime.
4. OkCupid: best free messaging if you need larger text
OkCupid matches you through questions and shows a match percentage, so a first message has something real to work with. Its App Store listing says it is “a free dating app for everyone” with an optional Premium that adds seeing who likes you, unlimited likes and Dealbreakers. Premium items run from $7.99 to $59.99 (lengths not shown), with 4.3 stars from 289K ratings.
One detail matters after 60: OkCupid is the only app on this page whose App Store listing declares VoiceOver, Larger Text (up to 200% or more), Sufficient Contrast and Reduced Motion support. On Google Play it has 50M+ downloads and 3.4 stars from 689K reviews. My OkCupid review rates it 4.
Who it suits: people who want depth before a date, or who need bigger text on a phone. The catch: a younger average user than senior sites, so widen your distance. Visit OkCupid.
5. Stitch: best free option for friends and outings
Stitch is a community for people over 50 built around events, interest groups, travel companions and conversation, where romance can happen but is not the pitch. Its pricing page says the Limited membership is “Free Forever” and lets you attend public events, join public groups, respond to messages and contact activity organizers. Full membership, with member-only events, chat and messaging, starts at $7 a month.
Stitch’s page for daters over 60 says every member must pass a verification check before communicating, which also confirms they are 50 or older, and that it works the same on iPhones, iPads, Android phones, Macs and PCs.
Who it suits: widowed or newly single people who want a social life first. The catch: free members can only reply, and how lively it is depends on your city. If you lost a spouse, my widow dating sites page compares the communities built for that. Visit Stitch.
6. SeniorMatch: best for verified members if you prefer to be approached
SeniorMatch only admits members over 50, and its help center is blunt about the free limits: Standard members cannot start new conversations, but can reply to messages from Premium members at no cost, on the website, mobile site or app. You can also send up to 40 free winks a day (20 a day in your first three days).
Two help-center details are useful if you are not a phone person: you can upload photos from your computer or email them to SeniorMatch, and voice and video calls run in your browser, so you can see and hear someone before meeting. Verification is by selfie video, checked against your photos within 24 hours. The site’s footer states that SeniorMatch does not conduct background checks.
On the App Store it has 3.8 stars from 2.4K ratings, and on Google Play 3.8 stars and 500K+ downloads (October 2026). Who it suits: women on senior sites who are happy to let paying members write first. The catch: reply-only for free, which frustrates most men. Visit SeniorMatch.
7. eharmony: best free look at a serious site
eharmony has no free trial; it has a free membership that does not expire. Its cost page says Basic members take the Compatibility Quiz, see profiles on their Discover list, send Likes and a first message, with limited messaging. Premium, sold in 3, 6 or 12 month plans, adds unlimited messaging, all members’ photos and who viewed you. Prices appear only after you log in and click “Upgrade to Premium”.
In my eharmony review I found photos blurred for free users, so treat Basic as a way to see whether your matches reply before paying. Who it suits: divorced or widowed daters who want remarriage or a committed partner. The catch: hidden prices and long plans if you do upgrade. Visit eharmony.
8. Finally: best free swipe app for people over 50
Finally, from Joyride GmbH, is a swipe-style app for mature singles with interest-based communities. Its Google Play listing calls it “a free mature app for mature singles aged 50 and above”, says all profiles are moderated and verified, and lists the Premium perks: see who liked you, unlimited likes and chatting first. It has 4.6 stars from 135K reviews and 5M+ downloads, with in-app purchases from $1.99 to $259.00 per item (October 2026).
Who it suits: people who like a phone app and want an age-appropriate pool. The catch: it is a phone app only, and there is no published monthly price, so check what you are buying before you tap. Visit Finally.
Free to join, paid to talk: Match, SilverSingles and the adult senior sites
Several sites that rank for this search are free in name only. Match has the most daters over 50 (Pew’s 50%), and its App Store listing says that with no subscription you can create a profile, get daily match suggestions, chat with recommended matches and join singles events. In my Match review, though, I found the free account a preview: one free Intro a day, and no real back-and-forth messaging without a subscription. One month is $44.99 on the App Store (3.9 stars from 243K ratings, October 2026). Use it free to see how many people your age are nearby, then decide.
SilverSingles says every visible profile is verified, but talking needs a subscription: $18.99 for one month, $47.99 for three and $84.99 for six in the iPhone app sold by Heartnet LLC (App Store, 4.3 stars from 223 ratings, October 2026). My SilverSingles review rates it 3.5 as a paid choice. Visit SilverSingles.
Senior Sizzle and Senior Friend Finder are adult-leaning sites from the FriendFinder network. Senior Sizzle’s homepage offers a free profile, pitches “intimate encounters over 50” and states that it does not conduct criminal background screening. Both are free to join with a paid Gold membership to message; my Senior Sizzle review rates it 2.5 and my Senior Friend Finder review 3. MatureDates is aimed at younger people dating singles over 30, and in my review even Premium members needed credits to send messages. None of the three is where I would start for a free relationship search after 60.
Phone, tablet or computer: what works where
Google’s own answer for this search asks whether you prefer an app or a website, and none of the top results compares them. Here is what each pick’s own pages say, with accessibility taken from the App Store “Accessibility” section of each listing (Stitch, eharmony, Facebook, and the listings linked in each pick above). Checked October 2026.
| Site | Computer browser | Phone app | Accessibility declared on the App Store |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook Dating | No, Meta describes it as part of the app | Yes | Not indicated |
| Plenty of Fish | Yes | Yes | Not indicated |
| OurTime | Yes, ourtime.com | Yes | Not indicated |
| OkCupid | Not confirmed | Yes | VoiceOver, Larger Text, contrast, reduced motion |
| Stitch | Yes, Mac and PC | Yes | Not indicated |
| SeniorMatch | Yes, with calls in the browser | Yes | Not indicated |
| eharmony | Yes, “dating site and app” | Yes | Not indicated |
| Finally | No, its site only offers the app | Yes | No App Store listing found |
If small print is a problem, a computer is the easy fix on most of these: your browser can zoom any page (Ctrl and + on Windows, Command and + on a Mac). On a phone, OkCupid is the only listing here that promises its text follows your phone’s larger text setting. If photos are the hurdle, SeniorMatch’s help center lets you email them in.
How to stay free: never pay by accident
Every site on this page except Facebook Dating will offer you an upgrade, often right after sign-up. Three habits keep a free account free.
- Do not enter a card “just to see”. App Store subscriptions renew on their own: SeniorMatch’s listing says renewal happens unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancel in the right place. If you paid through an iPhone, deleting your profile does not stop billing. The SeniorMatch help center gives Apple’s steps: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap the subscription, then Cancel Subscription. If you paid on the website, cancel in the site’s account settings.
- Read the price list, not the blurb. SeniorMatch’s own App Store page shows $34.99 for one month in its description and $33.99 in its price list. Small gaps like that are common, so check the amount on the payment screen.
If you do decide to pay, start short. Here are the cheapest published entry points. Prices checked October 2026 on each app’s US App Store listing or pricing page, linked in each section above.
| Site | Free forever? | Cheapest paid option | One month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook Dating | Yes, no paid tier | None | $0 |
| Stitch | Limited membership | Full membership | From $7 (web) |
| OkCupid | Yes, with messaging | Premium items from $7.99 | Length not shown |
| Plenty of Fish | Yes | 1 week $19.99 | $29.99 |
| OurTime | Yes | 1 week $19.99 | $39.99 |
| SeniorMatch | Standard (reply only) | 1 month | $33.99 |
| eharmony | Basic, no time limit | 3, 6 or 12 months | Shown after sign-up |
| Finally | Yes | Items from $1.99 | Not published |
For free options at every age, my free dating sites guide covers the rest, and my best free dating sites for over 50 page adds a few apps that still work in your 50s.
Scams aimed at daters over 60
Free sites are the cheapest place for scammers to work, and this age group loses the most. In the FBI’s 2025 Internet Crime Report, people 60 and older filed 10,188 confidence and romance fraud complaints and reported $584,032,745 in losses. In Pew’s survey, 39% of online daters 65 and older said they had come across someone they thought was trying to scam them.
The FTC’s romance scam guide lists the pattern:
- They want to leave the dating site quickly for email, phone or another messaging app, and say “I love you” early.
- They can never meet: they work on an oil rig, serve in the military abroad or work for an international organization.
- Then a money story: a medical bill, a plane ticket or visa, legal fees, or a cryptocurrency “opportunity”.
- They want it by wire transfer, gift card, money transfer app or cryptocurrency, and they want it now.
The FTC’s rule fits on a sticky note: never send money or gifts to someone you have not met in person. Run a reverse image search on their photos, talk to a friend or relative about the new relationship, and report a scammer at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and to the site. Use the free tools: selfie verification on SeniorMatch and Plenty of Fish, Stitch’s member check, and a voice or video call before you meet. A verified badge proves a real face matches the photos, not that the person is honest. For the first date, pick a busy public place, arrange your own transportation and tell someone where you will be. My online dating scams guide goes further.
Which free site to try first after 60
Three questions get most people to the right first site. Run two at once if you can: one big pool and one site for people over 50.

- You want to pay nothing, ever: Facebook Dating, plus Plenty of Fish for the numbers.
- You only want people over 50 and want to write first: OurTime.
- You prefer to be approached and want verified members: SeniorMatch’s free reply-only account.
- You use a computer more than a phone: Plenty of Fish, OurTime, SeniorMatch or Stitch in your browser.
- You need larger text on your phone: OkCupid.
- You want friends, outings or a travel companion first: Stitch.
- You want marriage and a slower pace: eharmony’s free Basic, and upgrade only if matches reply.
Free dating sites for seniors over 70
Past 70 the numbers get smaller still: 12% of Americans 70 and older have ever dated online, and just 1% of online daters that age have used Tinder (Pew). So go where your age group is allowed in and welcomed. OurTime’s listing speaks to “50, 65 or beyond”, SeniorMatch and Stitch admit only people over 50, and Plenty of Fish’s senior page names members in their 70s and 80s. Set the top of your age range as high as you like, widen the distance to the next town or two, and expect fewer but more relevant profiles. Stitch’s groups and events are often the easiest free start at this age, because you meet people in a group before anything one-on-one. The wider senior dating sites guide covers paid and niche options too.
How to make a free profile work after 60
- Use recent, clear photos. A face shot in daylight and one doing something you enjoy. Photos that look nothing like the person are one of the most common frustrations older daters report.
- Fill in everything. Free members get fewer likes and contacts, so a complete profile does more of the work.
- Verify yourself where it is free. It helps real people trust you, and on SeniorMatch it takes a short selfie video.
- Write a specific first message. Mention something from their profile. On Plenty of Fish your one daily First Contact is the place to stand out.
- Move to a phone or video call before meeting. SeniorMatch has calls built in; elsewhere, a quick call in your own phone app works.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best free dating site for seniors without payment?
Facebook Dating is the only well-known option with no paid tier at all: Meta says it is free and does not charge to unlock features. If you want more people your age, Plenty of Fish lets free members chat with matches and send one First Contact a day, and OurTime lets free members chat once they match.
Is there a dating site that is 100% free for seniors?
Facebook Dating is fully free, but it is open to all adults, not only seniors. Among sites only for people over 50, Stitch’s Limited membership is free forever and SeniorMatch’s Standard account is free, but both only let free members reply to messages, not start conversations.
What is the most honest dating site for seniors?
Look for a site that publishes its free limits and prices. SeniorMatch’s help center says plainly that free members cannot start conversations and that it does not run background checks, and Stitch lists its free and paid memberships on one pricing page. eharmony, by contrast, only shows prices after you sign up.
What is the safest free dating site for people over 60?
No free site is scam-proof, but some give you more tools: SeniorMatch verifies photos by selfie video and has voice and video calls built in, Stitch checks members before they can communicate, and Facebook Dating blocks payments and links in messages. Whatever you use, never send money to someone you have not met in person.
Are there free dating sites for seniors over 70?
Yes. Stitch and SeniorMatch admit only people over 50, OurTime pitches itself to people 50, 65 and beyond, and Plenty of Fish says it has members in their 70s and 80s, all with free accounts. Only 12% of Americans 70 and older have ever dated online, per Pew, so widen your distance setting.
