Best Online Dating Sites for Over 60 in 2026 (Honest Picks)
The best online dating sites for over 60 are Match for the biggest pool of people your age, eharmony if you want a long-term partner, and OurTime or SilverSingles if you only want to see singles over 50. Add SeniorMatch if fake profiles worry you most, Stitch if friendship and outings come first, and Plenty of Fish if you want to start for free.
Below: the ranking, what each one really costs per month in October 2026, where people in their 60s and 70s actually date online, and the scams that target this age group. For the whole category, see my senior dating sites guide.

How I ranked them
I have not used these sites for this ranking. It is built from public information: each site’s pricing page, help center and App Store listing, Pew Research data on which sites older Americans use, and the safety tools each company documents. Each site gets 1 to 5 points on value for money, safety and verification, evidence of an active user base, features that suit daters over 60, and transparency about prices, auto-renewal and cancellation, averaged and rounded to the half point. Ratings from my full reviews are reused as published. The order also weighs how many people over 60 you are likely to find, which matters more at this age than any feature.
Where people over 60 actually date online
This is the part most rankings skip, and it changes which site you should pick. In Pew Research Center’s 2023 survey, 23% of Americans aged 50 to 59 had ever used a dating site or app, against 14% of those 60 to 69 and 12% of those 70 and older. Fewer people your age are online, so the size of the pool matters more after 60 than it did at 50.
The same survey shows where they go. Half (50%) of online daters 50 and older had used Match. Tinder drops off a cliff with age: 19% of online daters in their 50s had used it, 6% in their 60s and 1% at 70 and older.

The takeaway: after 60, swipe apps built for younger people are mostly empty of your peers. Spend your time, and your money, on a large general site with good age filters (Match, eharmony) or on a site that only admits people over 50.
1. Match: best overall for daters over 60
Match is not built only for older daters, and that is exactly why it ranks first: the pool is large enough that a 64-year-old outside a big city still finds people nearby, and you can set your age range to 60 to 75 and leave it there. In my Match review I found the profiles detailed and the search filters genuinely useful.
According to its App Store listing, the free version lets you create a profile, get daily match suggestions and join virtual and in-person singles events. Paid plans add unlimited profiles and advanced filters. One month of Standard or Basic is listed at $44.99 and a 6-month bundle at $129.99 (October 2026). The app has 3.9 stars from 242K ratings.
Who it suits: anyone who wants the most choice and is happy to filter. The catch: the most expensive monthly plan on this list. Visit Match.
2. eharmony: best for a long-term partner
eharmony matches you through a compatibility quiz instead of swiping, which suits widowed and divorced daters who know what they want. Its cost page says Basic membership is free with no time limit: after the quiz you can see profiles, send likes and a first message, with limited messaging. Premium, sold in 3, 6 or 12 month plans, adds member photos, unlimited messaging and who viewed you.
The catch is transparency: eharmony does not publish prices. They appear only after you log in and choose “Upgrade to Premium”, and there is no one-month plan. My eharmony review goes through how the matching works.
Who it suits: people looking for a committed relationship or remarriage. The catch: hidden prices and a 3-month minimum. Visit eharmony.
3. OurTime: best simple app for meeting people over 50
OurTime is Match Group’s site for singles over 50, and its App Store listing pitches it to people “whether you’re 50, 65 or beyond” looking for dating, friendship or companionship. For free you can build a profile, search by lifestyle, share stories in Topics and get curated daily matches. Premium adds seeing who liked you, read receipts, a profile boost and Super Likes.
Prices in October 2026: $19.99 for a week of Premium, $39.99 for a month, $89.99 for six months. The listing mentions profile moderation and fraud detection but not photo verification. It has 3.9 stars from 70K ratings. My OurTime review has the details.
Who it suits: first-timers who want a simple app and only want to see their own age group. The catch: a smaller pool than Match, and no photo verification mentioned. Visit OurTime.
4. SilverSingles: best value for a serious 50+ site
SilverSingles sends you suggested matches for singles over 50 instead of an endless feed. Its homepage says every profile you see is verified and mentions scam filters and private messaging. The footer now reads SilverSingles.com / SuccessfulMatch.com, Inc., the company that also runs SeniorMatch, which many older reviews have not caught up with.
The current iPhone app’s App Store listing shows $18.99 for one month, $47.99 for three and $84.99 for six (October 2026), the cheapest monthly plan here. Release notes say video verification was added in 2025. The app is young: 4.3 stars from only 210 ratings. I gave it 3.5 in my SilverSingles review. Visit SilverSingles.
Who it suits: serious daters on a fixed budget. The catch: a smaller, newer app community, so check your area with a free profile before paying.
5. SeniorMatch: best if fake profiles worry you
SeniorMatch is a site for members over 50 only. Its homepage says only verified members can connect with you, offers a “social only” sign-up next to dating, and claims 2.4 million members. The SeniorMatch help center explains the check: a selfie video compared with your profile photos, confirmed or rejected within 24 hours. It also offers voice and video calls inside the site, so you can see and hear someone before you meet.
Free (Standard) members can create a profile, search by country and state, send up to 40 winks a day and reply to messages from Premium members, but not start conversations. On the App Store, Premium is $33.99 for one month, $69.99 for three and $109.99 for six, with pricier tiers up to a $500 “chairman” month (October 2026). Ratings: 3.8 stars from 2.4K. Visit SeniorMatch.
Who it suits: cautious daters who want every contact verified. The catch: free members can only reply, and the premium tiers above the basic one add little for most people.
6. Stitch: best for companionship and group outings
Stitch is a community for people over 50 built around events, interest groups, travel companions and conversation. Romance happens there, but it is not the pitch, which is why it suits people who want a social life first. Its pricing page lists a free Limited membership (public events and groups, replying to messages, contacting organizers) and a Full membership from $7 a month with member-only events, chat and messaging. Stitch’s page for daters over 60 says every member must pass a verification check before communicating, which also confirms they are 50 or older.
Who it suits: widowed or newly single people who want friends, travel partners or a dinner group before a partner. The catch: how lively it is depends on your city. Visit Stitch.
7. Plenty of Fish: best way to start for free
Plenty of Fish is a mainstream site, but its senior dating page says it has singles in their 50s, 60s, 70s and even 80s, and that you can text, video chat or voice chat; the page’s own title promises you can “date, chat and match for free”. That makes it the easiest big site here to try without paying. On the App Store, a one-month subscription is $29.99 and a week $19.99 (October 2026), the listing promotes Selfie Verification, and the app has 4.3 stars from 1.8M ratings. My Plenty of Fish review covers what the free tier really gets you.
Who it suits: people who want to test online dating before spending anything. The catch: a younger, more casual crowd, so set your age filter on day one. Visit Plenty of Fish.
What these dating sites cost after 60
Almost every site is free to join and charges to message freely. Here are the published prices side by side.
| Site | Cheapest way in | 1 month | Longer plans |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stitch | Free Limited membership | Full from $7 (web) | Not listed |
| SilverSingles | Free profile and browsing | $18.99 | 3 months $47.99, 6 months $84.99 |
| OurTime | 1 week Premium $19.99 | $39.99 | 6 months $89.99 |
| Plenty of Fish | Free account | $29.99 | 1 week $19.99 |
| SeniorMatch | Free Standard (reply only) | $33.99 | 3 months $69.99, 6 months $109.99 |
| Match | Free profile and events | $44.99 | 6-month bundle $129.99 |
| eharmony | Free Basic | No monthly plan | 3, 6 or 12 months, priced after sign-up |
Prices checked October 2026 on each site’s US App Store listing or pricing page (linked above). Web prices can differ. On a fixed income, three habits save the most money:
- Start with the shortest plan. A week or a month tells you whether there are enough people your age nearby. Six months is cheaper per month but paid up front.
- Expect auto-renewal. App Store subscriptions renew until you cancel them.
- Cancel in the right place. If you paid through your iPhone, deleting your dating profile does not stop billing. Apple’s instructions: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription. If you paid on the website, cancel in the site’s account settings.
If you would rather not pay at all, my free dating sites guide ranks the sites whose free tiers actually let you message.
What “verified” proves, and what it doesn’t
A verified badge is worth having, but it means less than people assume. The SilverSingles help center says photo verification confirms that the person using the account matches the photos, and does not confirm income, occupation, relationship intentions, medical information, criminal history or the accuracy of the profile. SilverSingles and SeniorMatch both state at the bottom of their homepages that they do not run background checks on members.
- Selfie video check (SeniorMatch, SilverSingles): the face matches the photos. It stops stolen-photo profiles, not liars.
- Selfie Verification (Plenty of Fish): the same idea, shown as a badge.
- Member verification before messaging (Stitch): you cannot contact anyone until you pass it.
- Profile moderation and fraud detection (OurTime, Match): screening happens behind the scenes, with no badge for you to check.
So treat “verified” as “real face”, not “safe person”, and keep the habits below either way.
The scams that target daters over 60
Romance scams hit this age group harder than any other. In the FBI’s 2024 Internet Crime Report, people 60 and older filed 7,626 confidence and romance fraud complaints and reported $389,312,356 in losses. In Pew’s survey, 39% of online daters 65 and older said they had come across someone they thought was trying to scam them.
The FTC’s romance scam guide lists the patterns to watch for:
- They want to leave the dating site quickly for email, phone or messaging apps.
- They declare strong feelings fast and message several times a day.
- They can never meet: they work on an oil rig, serve in the military abroad or travel for an international organization.
- Then a story: money for medical bills, a plane ticket, a visa, fees, or “help” with cryptocurrency investing.
- They ask to be paid by wire transfer, gift cards, money transfer apps or cryptocurrency.
Never send money to someone you have only met online, run a reverse image search on photos that look too polished, and insist on a video call before you meet. If something feels off, report the profile on the site and at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. For first dates, meet somewhere public, arrange your own transportation and tell a friend where you will be.
Which site fits you after 60
- You want the most choice: Match, with your age range set from the start.
- You want remarriage or a committed partner: eharmony.
- You only want to see people over 50 and want it simple: OurTime.
- You are on a fixed income but want a serious site: SilverSingles.
- You are nervous about scammers: SeniorMatch, where only verified members can contact you.
- You want friends, outings or a travel companion first: Stitch.
- You want to try it before paying anything: Plenty of Fish or Stitch’s free tier.
- You live in a small town: Match, because pool size matters most where people are spread out.
- You were widowed: any of the above, or a site for widows such as Chapter 2; my widow dating sites page compares them.
Most people do best on two at once: one big pool (Match or Plenty of Fish) and one 50+ site (OurTime, SilverSingles or SeniorMatch). If you are in your 50s, or dating someone who is, my ranking of the best dating apps over 50 covers a few more mainstream apps that still work at that age.
Frequently asked questions
What is the most trusted dating site for seniors?
No site can promise every profile is honest, but SeniorMatch only lets verified members contact you, and SilverSingles says every profile you see is verified. Both check that a face matches the photos, not criminal history, and both state they do not run background checks. Whatever the site, never send money to someone you have only met online.
Which is better, OurTime or SilverSingles?
OurTime is better if you want a simple app with free search and daily matches, and it is run by Match Group. SilverSingles is better on price, at $18.99 for one month on the App Store against $39.99 for OurTime (October 2026), and it advertises verified profiles. Try both free profiles and pay for whichever shows more active people near you.
Is there a 100% free online dating site for over 60 without payment?
Very few big sites are fully free. Plenty of Fish and Stitch’s Limited membership let you start without paying, and eharmony’s Basic plan includes limited messaging. Most others let you join and browse for free but charge to start conversations.
What are some good free dating sites for people over 60?
Plenty of Fish has a free account and says it has singles in their 60s, 70s and 80s. Stitch has a free Limited membership for public events and groups for people over 50. SeniorMatch and SilverSingles let you build a profile and browse free, though messaging is limited until you pay.
What does GGG mean on a dating site?
GGG stands for “good, giving and game”, a phrase coined by sex columnist Dan Savage. On a profile it signals someone who is generous and open-minded in a relationship, usually in a sexual sense. It is rarely seen on senior-focused sites.
