SweetMeet Review 2026: Real Profiles or Scam?

The SweetMeet dating app is real: a free Android and iPhone app with 100M+ Google Play downloads, run by FlintCast s.r.o., a registered company in Prague. It is not worth paying for in October 2026. Its most-upvoted store reviews describe an ad after almost every tap, profiles that look like bots, and a “free trial” that charged, so try it free if you are curious, and look at my serious dating apps page if you want a relationship in a US city.

My verdict: Legit company, poor value. SweetMeet has a big install base and decent star averages (4.0 on Google Play, 4.3 on the App Store), but the reviews Google and Apple rank first keep naming the same problems: heavy ads, fake-looking profiles, no verification and confusing VIP trials. Your profile may also be shown on its sister apps. Use the free version with low expectations, never send money to anyone you meet there, and skip VIP.

What is the SweetMeet dating app, and who runs it?

SweetMeet is sold as “Dating and Chat - SweetMeet” on Google Play and “Dating and Chat - Sweet Meet” on the App Store. Its store description pitches “dating with purpose”: local matches, long-term relationships and marriage, plus making friends. The Google Play listing shows it has been live since February 15, 2019, was last updated September 30, 2026, is rated Mature 17+, and carries ads and in-app purchases. The App Store rates it 18+ and lists 14 languages, from English and Spanish to Arabic, Russian and Thai.

The company behind it is FlintCast s.r.o. The “About the developer” box on Google Play gives a Prague address, and the SweetMeet terms of use (last updated September 29, 2026) name the same company, its Czech registration number, and Czech law as the law of the contract. The SweetMeet website is a single page with download buttons, a short feature list and a support email (support@sweetmeet.me). There is no help center, no web version to log in to, and no price list.

Your SweetMeet profile may show up on other apps

None of the pages that rank for SweetMeet mention this. Section 5.6 of the terms says your profile data and content may be shown on “Associated Platforms”, run by FlintCast or by partners, and names SweetMeet, EverMatch, Curvy, Maybe You, iHappy and Talkie Live.

In practice: installing SweetMeet, Evermatch and iHappy to “widen your search” may just show you the same pool of people three times, and someone who messages you on SweetMeet may have signed up on a different app. I covered the same setup in my Evermatch review, which got 2.5 out of 5.

    Who SweetMeet is for

    • Might suit: someone who wants a free chat-and-match app on Android or iPhone, does not mind ads, and is happy to talk with people outside their city.
    • Skip it if: you want verified profiles, you dislike ads, you want clear subscription terms before you pay, or you are an LGBTQ+ dater (the store pages only talk about men meeting women; start with my LGBTQ+ dating sites page instead).

How SweetMeet works: matching and messaging

The homepage and the store listings describe the same simple flow:

    1. Create a profile with photos, your relationship goals and preferences (the privacy policy lists optional fields such as height, body type, education, finances, attitude to children, alcohol and smoking).
    2. SweetMeet suggests nearby profiles based on interests, location, lifestyle and relationship intentions.
    3. Send a Like, or swipe. If the other person likes you back, it is a Match and you can chat.
    4. The store screenshots also show a list of who visited your profile.

You can sign up with an email and password or connect a social network account; the privacy policy says Facebook login can pass your name, photo, email and friends list to SweetMeet. Use email if you want to keep the two apart.

Is SweetMeet free? What VIP costs

Downloading, liking, matching and chatting are free. The catch is ads. When a reviewer complained about ads on Google Play in July 2026, SweetMeet replied that ads fund the app and that “you can also turn off ads by activating VIP status”. So VIP is, first of all, the price of an ad-free app.

SweetMeet’s own pages publish no price list. Here is what the stores show for the United States:

    Item (name as listed)US price
    VIP (1 week)$9.99
    VIP for 1 month$14.99
    VIP (1 month) / VIP subscription$28.99
Vip Subscription Trial 1 Month$9.99 or $28.99 (two entries)
VIP GOLD for 1 month / VIP GOLD trial 1 month$54.99
    Popularity boost$4.99
    Make a Crush!$4.99
All in-app items on Android$0.99 to $199.99 per item

Prices checked October 2026, from the in-app purchase list of the US App Store listing and the price range on the Google Play listing. Neither says what VIP Gold adds over VIP.

The real cost: trials, renewal and refunds

Look at the names above: the “trial” items cost $9.99, $28.99 and $54.99, which is the same as or more than the regular month. A trial on SweetMeet is not free. One App Store reviewer wrote that the app offered “a free trial with gold premium” that then charged, and the developer’s reply asked for a profile ID instead of addressing the charge.

The terms have no section on subscriptions, auto-renewal or refunds. They only say the company can close an account “without liability” and without a refund if it thinks you broke the rules. Billing runs through Apple or Google, so their rules apply: assume anything called a subscription renews until you cancel it in your store account, and read the checkout screen (price and period) before you confirm. Refund requests go to Apple or Google, not to SweetMeet.

    Fake profiles, bots and complaints

On Google Play, SweetMeet has 4.0 stars from 362K reviews and 100M+ downloads; on the US App Store, 4.3 stars from 2.9K ratings (October 2026). A big, active user base is likely. The company’s own ad landing page claims “over 10 million users worldwide” and shows a count of “27552 lovely singles near you”, without saying how either number is measured, so I would not lean on them.

The reviews the stores rank as most helpful are rougher:

    • Ads everywhere: the top Google Play reviews describe an ad after nearly every action (“You look at two messages, then you get an ad”, 826 helpful votes; another with 1,644 says it is almost impossible to use as a man).
    • Bots: one reviewer got three messages while still creating a profile and concluded “there’s bots”. An App Store review titled “Unbelievable how many fakes are on here” says there were no verification measures and slow replies to reports.
    • Billing: the trial complaint above.
    • Quality: an App Store reviewer points to clumsy wording in the app (“Purpose of your acquaintance?”), which made it feel less trustworthy.

The developer answers most reviews with a template: contact support, send the profile ID. That does not prove the complaints are right, but the pattern is consistent across years, so treat every new match as unverified until you have video-chatted.

    Safety and verification on SweetMeet

What SweetMeet offers: report and block buttons, and a promise in the terms to review reports and notify you within 24 hours. The terms require users to be 18 or older, ban spam, money requests, impersonation and posting contact or bank details in a profile, and say the company “may, but has no obligation to, monitor” content. The privacy policy mentions identity checks only when an account is suspected of misbehavior. No official page describes photo or ID verification you can do yourself, and there is no verified badge.

One detail worth knowing: section 6.8 of the terms says some users get optional AI-powered features that suggest “conversation starters, replies or other messaging content”. Users themselves are banned from using AI or bots to chat. So a message that reads polished is not proof of a real, engaged person, and a stilted one is not proof of a bot.

What to do on SweetMeet, or any app like it:

    • Never send money, gift cards, crypto or a photo of your ID, whatever the story.
    • Be wary of anyone who wants to move to WhatsApp or Telegram right away.
    • Video-chat before you meet, then meet in a public place and tell a friend where you are.
    • Report the profile in the app, and report money requests to the FTC.

    Privacy: who gets your data

The SweetMeet homepage says it “won’t share your information with third parties”. The official fine print says otherwise. The Google Play data safety section says the app may share your approximate and precise location and device IDs with other companies, including for advertising, and collects your messages, photos, purchase history and, optionally, political or religious beliefs. The privacy policy names its ad partners (Facebook, Google AdMob, AppLovin, MyTarget, MoPub, UnityAds) and analytics tools (AppMetrica, AppsFlyer), and says data may be transferred to the United States and other countries. The App Store label says location, contact info, usage data and “sensitive info” may be used to track you across other companies’ apps. Keep your profile light on personal details.

    SweetMeet pros and cons

    Pros

    • Free to like, match and chat, on both Android and iPhone.
    • Very large install base (100M+ downloads) and updated in September 2026.
    • Report and block tools, with a 24-hour response promise in the terms.
    • Relationship goals and lifestyle fields on profiles.

    Cons

    • Ads after almost every action unless you pay for VIP.
    • “Trial” plans that cost money, and no renewal or refund terms published.
    • Recurring fake-profile and bot complaints; no verification you can do.
    • Profiles may be shared with sister apps (EverMatch, Curvy, Maybe You, iHappy, Talkie Live).
    • Location and personal data shared with ad partners.

How to cancel SweetMeet VIP and delete your account

Deleting the app or the account does not stop a subscription. Cancel it first where you bought it:

    • iPhone: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, SweetMeet, Cancel Subscription (Apple’s guide).
    • Android: open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, SweetMeet, Cancel (Google’s guide).

Then delete the account. Per section 8.2 of the terms, open Settings, then Application settings, and tap Delete Account. SweetMeet keeps the profile for 30 days in case you come back, and messages you sent may stay visible to the people who got them. To ask for erasure of your data, the privacy policy says to email support@sweetmeet.me; it also says your email is kept to prevent duplicate accounts.

    SweetMeet alternatives

If you want a free app with a real local pool and better safety tools, these have live reviews on this site:

    • Hinge (4.5/5 in my review): the one I would try first for a relationship in a US city. Visit Hinge.
    • OkCupid (4/5): question-based matching, and a better fit if you are LGBTQ+.
    • Bumble (4/5): a mainstream app with a large US user base, if you want more people to choose from.
    • Plenty of Fish (3.5/5): a long-running free option for relationship seekers.
    • Badoo (3.5/5): the closest like-for-like swap: a free chat-and-match app from a bigger company.

    How I rate it

I give SweetMeet 2.5 out of 5. The rating is based on public information, not hands-on use: the prices on its App Store and Google Play listings, the features and safety tools described on its website, terms and privacy policy, its app store reputation (ratings and the most-upvoted reviews), and value for money, all checked in October 2026. Scores: value for money 2, safety and verification 2, evidence of an active user base 4, features for its audience 2.5, transparency (pricing, renewal, cancellation) 1.5.

    Frequently asked questions

Is Sweet Meet a real dating app?

Yes. SweetMeet is published by FlintCast s.r.o., a company registered in Prague, and has 100M+ downloads on Google Play. That does not make every profile real: its most-helpful store reviews complain about bots and fake profiles, and it offers no verification you can do, so treat new matches as unverified until you have video-chatted.

    Is SweetMeet free?

You can download it, like, match and chat for free, but the free version shows ads after most actions. VIP removes ads; on the US App Store it runs from $9.99 a week to $54.99 a month for VIP Gold (October 2026), and items labeled as trials are paid too.

    How does Sweet Meet work?

You create a profile with photos and your relationship goals, and SweetMeet suggests nearby people based on interests, location and lifestyle. You send a Like, and if it is mutual you have a Match and can chat. You can report or block anyone.

    Which country uses SweetMeet most?

SweetMeet does not publish usage by country. The App Store lists 14 languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic and Thai, and the company is based in the Czech Republic, so expect an international pool rather than a mainly US one.

Is SweetMeet connected to Evermatch and iHappy?

Yes. All are run by FlintCast s.r.o., and SweetMeet's terms say your profile may be shown on associated platforms including EverMatch, Curvy, Maybe You, iHappy and Talkie Live.

Which dating app is the least scammy?

No app is scam-free, but large, well-known apps such as Hinge, Bumble and OkCupid have bigger real user bases and more safety tools than small ad-funded apps. Whatever the app, never send money to someone you have not met.
