Aisle Review 2026: Real Profiles or Scam?

Aisle is a legit dating app, not a scam: it is a real Indian company, majority-owned by the listed group Info Edge, with over 10 million Google Play downloads and a 4.5-star App Store rating in the US. The Aisle dating app is built for Indians and South Asians who want marriage, and it is worth a free try if that is you. Pay only after you read the refund rules (there are almost none), and treat any match who rushes you onto WhatsApp or a video call as a red flag.

My verdict: Real app, real audience, serious intent. Good for desi singles in India or abroad who want a life partner from their own community. Weak on price transparency and refunds, and US reviewers report blackmail scams after video calls, so stay in the app chat until you have checked someone out. Casual daters and non-desi singles should skip it.

What Aisle is and who runs it

Aisle calls itself the first "date-to-marry" app for Indians worldwide. Its Google Play listing says it was founded in 2014 and is run by Aisle Network Pvt. Ltd., majority-owned by Info Edge (India) Ltd., the group behind the job site Naukri and the matrimony site Jeevansathi. The company's privacy policy gives a registered office in Bangalore, and its Terms say Indian law governs any dispute, with courts in Bangalore.

The same company runs language-specific sister apps, all listed under the developer on Google Play: Arike (Malayali), Neetho (Telugu), Anbe (Tamil), Neene (Kannada) and Jalebi, a more general dating app. You use Aisle on iPhone or Android; the website aisle.co is mostly a brochure plus a login page.

    Who Aisle is for

Aisle sits between swipe apps like Tinder and matrimony sites like Shaadi. The listing says its algorithm weighs core values, life goals, mother tongue, faith and lifestyle, and that it is "made for Indians, by Indians, whether you're in Chennai or Chicago."

    • Good fit: Indian and South Asian singles, including NRIs in the US, who want a relationship that leads to marriage and care about language, religion or community.
    • Poor fit: casual daters, people who are married or separated but not divorced (the Terms require you to be unmarried), EU citizens (the Terms exclude them), and non-desi singles who want a broad dating pool.

How matching and messaging work on Aisle

You build a fuller profile than on a swipe app: faith, mother tongue, relationship goals, prompts and voice prompts all appear in the app's store screenshots. Then Aisle shows you profiles in a Discover feed. The listing describes the main tools:

    • Likes: you like a profile, and a mutual like makes a match. Unlimited likes are the main thing you pay for (Aisle Plus).
    • Comments: instead of a blind like, you reply to something on the person's profile, a photo or a prompt. Comments are rationed (the women's offer below gives 5 a day) and extra ones are sold in packs.
    • Advanced filters: search by lifestyle preferences and recent activity, a paid feature.
    • Private browsing: "browse with complete control", pitched mainly at women who want to date discreetly.
    • Aisle Concierge: the top tier, with handpicked profiles, "global reach" for cross-border matches, and advanced filters. Aisle claims it finds a match "2X faster", a marketing figure with no published method.

Older coverage describes "Invites" and "roses" (a 2020 Tech Panda profile of founder Able Joseph), but the current store listing no longer mentions them: today it is likes, comments and filters.

Is Aisle free? Free vs paid

Downloading, building a profile, browsing and matching are free. Paying unlocks volume and shortcuts. The store listing splits it into three tiers:

    TierWhat it adds (per Aisle)
FreeProfile, Discover feed, a limited number of likes and comments, chat with matches
    Aisle PlusUnlimited likes
Aisle PremiumEverything in Plus, "with more tools to deepen your search"
Aisle ConciergeHandpicked profiles, global reach, advanced filters

Source: the Google Play listing, checked October 2026. Aisle does not publish a full feature grid for Premium.

Free Premium for women. In July 2025 Aisle launched a "Free Premium features for Women" offer, reported by Deccan Chronicle: see who likes you, unlimited likes, 5 comments a day and advanced lifestyle filters, after verification. Aisle's Terms of Use still describe it in October 2026 as a limited-time promotion for women who pass "liveness and selfie verification", without a fixed end date. So if you are a woman, verify first and check the offer before paying for anything.

    Aisle prices in 2026

Aisle has no public price page: aisle.co/purchase asks you to log in. The only public list is the in-app purchase section of the store listings, which shows prices but not plan lengths.

Item (as listed)US App Store price
    1 Boost$4.99
    10 Comments$5.99
    Premium$14.99, $28.99 or $42.99
    Concierge$29.99, $31.99 or $44.99
    Aisle Concierge$49.99

Prices checked October 2026 on the US App Store listing. The three Premium prices most likely match different plan lengths, but Apple's list does not say which. In India, the Indian App Store listing shows Plus at โ‚น249, Premium from โ‚น249 to โ‚น1,899 and Concierge at โ‚น749 or โ‚น1,499.

Some review sites print a neat VIP price table in dollars. I could not confirm those numbers at any Aisle source, so I'd trust only the price on your own payment screen, and check the plan length there before you tap buy. The cheapest way in is free; the cheapest paid step is a single Boost or a pack of comments, not a subscription.

The fine print: refunds, money-back guarantee and who can join

This is the part none of the top results mention, and it matters before you pay. From Aisle's Terms of Use, checked October 2026:

    • Who can join: 18 or older, currently unmarried, no unspent convictions for assault, violence, sexual misconduct or harassment, and not a citizen of an EU country.
    • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew for the same period at the same price until you cancel. The store listing says to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
    • Refunds: the default rule is that payments "are not refunded under any circumstances". The exceptions: for payments not made in rupees, Aisle may consider a request within 14 days if the paid features are unused; iPhone purchases go through Apple; Google Play purchases go to Aisle support with your order details.
    • Money-back guarantee: on plans marked eligible at checkout, Aisle refunds the subscription if you get zero matches in 30 days, provided you sent at least 60 likes and logged in on at least 10 different days. You can only claim between day 31 and day 35 after purchase. Miss that window and the guarantee is gone.

If you buy a plan with the guarantee, put a reminder in your calendar for day 31. It is a fair promise, but a narrow one.

    Safety and verification on Aisle

Aisle's listing says "every profile goes through a 2-step verification process". The Terms are more modest: photos "will be reviewed before being published", Aisle does not run criminal background checks or verify what members say about themselves, and members can be suspended after "several complaints". The selfie and liveness check is spelled out only as a condition of the women's free Premium offer, so a verified badge tells you a face was checked, not that the person is who they claim in every detail.

The privacy policy says location shown to others is approximate (accurate to 0.5 km at most) and that Aisle never shares your zip code with other members. Aisle lists team@aisle.co for reporting suspicious activity, and the Terms bar members from putting contact details in messages to people who have not contacted them first.

    Fake profiles, scams and complaints

On reputation, Aisle looks solid on paper: 4.3 stars from 464K reviews on Google Play, 4.5 from 11K ratings on the US App Store and 4.4 from 177K ratings on the Indian App Store (all October 2026). The app was updated in October 2026, so it is actively maintained.

The negative reviews repeat a few patterns:

    • Video call blackmail. Two of the most visible US App Store reviews (2023 and April 2025) describe the same script: a match asks to move to WhatsApp, pushes for a video call, records it, then threatens to send the video to the user's contacts unless they pay. One of those matches carried a verified badge.
    • Thin or far-away pools. A September 2026 Google Play review from a man in Kolkata says profiles repeat, the app often fails to load new ones, and a 50 km distance filter shows people in Mumbai and Bangalore.
    • Billing. The most-liked negative Play reviews, from 2018 and 2021, complain about a trial that was hard to cancel, missing location filters after paying, and slow support.

Two claims also do not line up: the store description says Aisle has "more than 2.2M success stories", while one of its own Play Store screenshots says "220,000+ people worldwide found love on Aisle". Neither number is audited, so read both as marketing.

How to stay safe: keep the conversation in Aisle until you have met in a public place, never accept a video call from someone who is pressuring you to leave the app, and never send money. These are the exact warning signs the FTC lists for romance scams. If someone threatens or asks for money, stop replying, report the profile in the app, and report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

    Aisle pros and cons

    Pros

    • Built for marriage-minded Indians and the diaspora, with faith, language and goals front and center.
    • Real, large company behind it (Info Edge) and a big, active install base.
    • Comments reward reading a profile instead of swiping.
    • Women can get Premium features free after selfie verification, while the offer runs.
    • A money-back guarantee on eligible plans if you get no matches.

    Cons

    • No public price page, and store prices do not say what each plan includes or how long it lasts.
    • Refunds are the exception, not the rule.
    • Verification is lighter than the "2-step" marketing suggests; blackmail scams appear in US reviews.
    • Small local pools outside big cities, by reviewers' accounts.
    • Not open to EU citizens or anyone still married.

How to cancel Aisle and delete your account

Do it in this order, because deleting the app or the account does not stop billing (the Terms say so plainly):

    1. Cancel the subscription in your app store. On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Aisle, Cancel (Apple's steps). On Android: open your subscriptions in Google Play, pick Aisle, tap Cancel subscription (Google's steps). Do it at least 24 hours before renewal.
    2. Delete the account inside the app, from your settings. The Terms say you can delete at any time, the profile disappears from listings, and it cannot be reactivated: coming back means a new sign-up.
    3. Ask for your data to be erased if you want more than that. The privacy policy says Aisle keeps a backup of your details for up to three years after deletion, and keeps your email and phone number for payment matters. You can email support from your registered address to request deletion.

    Aisle alternatives

    • Dil Mil: the closest match, a South Asian app run from San Francisco that is popular with desi singles in the US, Canada and the UK.
    • Hinge: if you want serious dating in a large, mixed US pool and are open to dating outside your community.
    • Bumble: the answer to "is Aisle better than Bumble?" depends on intent. Bumble is bigger and more general; Aisle is narrower and more marriage-focused.
    • eHarmony: long questionnaire, marriage-minded US members, no cultural focus.

    How I rate it

My 3 out of 5 for Aisle is based on public information checked in October 2026: its store listings and in-app prices, its Terms of Use and privacy policy, its app store ratings and reviews, and news coverage. It is not based on hands-on use. Scores, each out of 5: value for money 2.5 (useful free tier, but paid plans without stated lengths and almost no refunds), safety and verification 3 (photo review and selfie checks, no background checks, scam reports), evidence of an active user base 4 (10M+ downloads, hundreds of thousands of ratings, monthly updates), features for its audience 4 (faith, language and goal-based matching, comments, Concierge) and transparency 2.5 (auto-renewal disclosed, but no price page and a narrow guarantee). Average: 3.2, rounded to 3.

How do I delete my Aisle account?

First cancel any subscription in the App Store or Google Play, because deleting the account or the app does not stop billing. Then delete the account from the app's settings; it cannot be reactivated.
