FreshSingle Review 2026: Real Profiles or Scam?
The freshSingle dating site (freshsingle.com, no “s”) is legit: it is a real, free, ad-funded dating site run by a small German company, and its profiles are posted by actual members. It is not a scam, but it is small, web-only and thin outside big cities. The scam worry you may have read about mostly belongs to a different site with almost the same name, FreshSingles.com, which charges per message and says in its own terms that its profiles are “for entertainment purposes only”.
What is the freshSingle dating site, and who runs it?
freshSingle.com is a free online dating site for meeting singles locally or abroad, flirting, chatting and looking for a relationship or new friends. Its site notice names the operator: dConcepts Multimedia Solutions, run by Alexander Drechsel in Waiblingen, Germany, with a German VAT number and the support address support@freshsingle.com. The same company runs a German-language sister site, freshSingle.de. The terms of service are governed by German law and require you to be of full legal age.
If you searched “freshsingle dating site”, most of what Google shows you are freshSingle’s own city pages (“Free Dating Site Montpelier”, “Mill Valley”, “Silver Spring”, “Pana”...). They are the same short template with a town name swapped in and a handful of member photos. They are search landing pages, not proof that many people near you use it.
One more thing explains why you rarely see it on review sites: its FAQ says freshSingle does not run an affiliate program and pays no commission for sign-ups. Nobody earns money by sending you there, which is also why I can say plainly that this page earns nothing from it.
freshSingle vs FreshSingles.com: two different sites
This is the part none of the search results spell out, and it matters. Two sites share almost the same name:
- freshSingle.com (no “s”): the free German site this review is about.
- FreshSingles.com (with an “s”): a paid flirting site run by Gochamie Inc of Orlando, Florida. Its terms and conditions describe “a platform for online entertainment and flirting” where you “flirt with the Profiles, using a certain credit for each message”. They add that “all Profiles are provided for entertainment purposes only” and that the service “is not intended for physical meetings”.
Read that again: the plural site tells you, in its own contract, that the profiles you pay to message are part of an entertainment product and that nothing is meant to lead to a date. That is the classic pay-to-chat model. The Reddit threads that rank for this search (“Freshsingels success stories?” in r/datingoverfifty, “FreshSingle, anyone actually found a match here?”) ask exactly the question those terms answer.

| freshSingle.com | FreshSingles.com | |
|---|---|---|
| Operator | dConcepts, Waiblingen, Germany | Gochamie Inc, Orlando, Florida |
| Messaging | Free for everyone | 50 credits per message |
| How it makes money | Ads, optional Ad-Free Plan | Credit packs and an auto-renewing Premium membership |
| Profiles | Created by members; operator says it runs none | “For entertainment purposes only” |
| Meant to lead to dates? | Yes | “Not intended for physical meetings” |
| Identity checks | Manual profile review, optional or required video ID | “Background checks, criminal checks or identity checks are not conducted” |

Who freshSingle is for (and who should skip it)
freshSingle suits you if you want to message people without paying a cent, you are happy to browse a smaller crowd, and you live in or near a larger city, or you are open to meeting people from other countries. Its homepage pitches it for “a serious relationship”, a flirt or new friends, for women and men from 18 to 99.
Skip it if you want a busy local pool, a native phone app, or matching that does the work for you. If you are over 50 and that Reddit thread brought you here, my senior dating sites guide has bigger, age-focused options.
Who is actually on it
freshSingle publishes no member count, so here is what its public pages show. The Montpelier, Vermont page lists three profiles, one without a photo. The Illinois state page shows about twenty. The public member directory showed 25 profiles on its first page in October 2026: 14 in the US and the rest in Ghana, Kenya, Canada, Germany, Pakistan, the Philippines, Kuwait and Spain. The profiles read like real people writing about themselves, not polished bait. The forum front page, though, still leads with threads dated 2016. Put together: real members, a modest and international pool, and not much buzz.
How freshSingle works
From the FAQ and the site itself, the basics are simple:
- Sign up and activate: register with your email, then click the activation link. You cannot log in until you do. If the email does not arrive, check spam and request it again from the reactivation page.
- Build a profile: photos, a short “about me” and what you are looking for. New profiles are reviewed by hand before they go live.
- Search: filter by gender, who you are looking for and age, locally or worldwide. There is no personality test or matching algorithm; the site says so itself.
- Message and chat: send messages and use the live chat for free. Message filters let you limit who can write to you by age, and verified members can choose to receive messages only from other verified members.
- Forum and dating guide: a Q&A forum and a blog with dating and safety articles.
Login: you log in on freshsingle.com with your email or username and password. There is no Facebook or app-store login to worry about, because there is no store app.
Is the freshSingle dating site free?
Yes. The FAQ says searching, viewing profiles, sending and receiving messages and using the chats are all free, for women and men, and that “there is no paid premium membership”. The site is funded by advertising, and to use it free you must accept ads. If you run an ad blocker, a dialog asking you to choose between ads and the paid ad-free option keeps coming back; whitelisting the site makes it go away.
The only paid thing is an optional Ad-Free Plan. The terms say its price, duration and payment details are shown before purchase, and that there are “no hidden or recurring fees” for the free service. freshSingle does not publish the Ad-Free price anywhere I could open, so I can’t quote it. It removes ads; it does not unlock anything.
What FreshSingles.com (with an “s”) charges instead
For contrast, and because so many people land on the wrong one, here is what the paid look-alike lists in its own credit package list and membership list, the price data its checkout loads. Each message costs 50 credits.
| FreshSingles.com package | Price | Credits | Messages | Per message |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (intro offer) | $2.99 | 150 | 3 | $1.00 |
| Special promo (intro offer) | $8.99 | 750 | 15 | $0.60 |
| Bronze | $21.99 | 500 | 10 | $2.20 |
| Silver | $44.99 | 1,250 | 25 | $1.80 |
| Gold | $79.99 | 2,500 | 50 | $1.60 |
| Platinum | $139.99 | 5,000 | 100 | $1.40 |
| Diamond (limited) | $199.99 | 12,500 | 250 | $0.80 |
| Membership, 30 days | $12.95 | 250 | 5 | $2.59 |
| Membership, 60 days | $21.90 | 500 | 10 | $2.19 |
| Membership, 90 days | $26.85 | 750 | 15 | $1.79 |
Prices checked October 2026, in USD, from FreshSingles.com’s own package data. Per-message cost is my arithmetic at 50 credits per message. Its terms add that memberships renew automatically until you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, that purchased credits expire after 6 months, and that credit refunds are offered only within 14 days of purchase and never for credits already used.
Is there a freshSingle app?
Not in the App Store or Google Play. freshSingle’s own app guide says “you will not find a traditional app store download yet” and explains how to install the site as a Progressive Web App instead:
- Android (Chrome): open freshsingle.com, tap the three-dot menu, choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”, then confirm.
- iPhone or iPad (Safari): open freshsingle.com, tap Share, choose “Add to Home Screen”, then tap Add.
So any “freshSingle” app you find in a store is not from this company. Be careful with look-alikes.
Safety and verification
For a free site, freshSingle describes more checks than I expected. According to its FAQ:
- Every new profile is reviewed manually by the support team for spam, abuse and signs of fraud.
- When something looks off, freshSingle can require a video identity check using an official government ID. You can also do it voluntarily.
- Members who pass get a Verified Badge, shown on their profile and in chats. Verified members can choose to receive messages only from other verified members, which cuts out most spam.
- A “Report SPAM & SCAM” button sits on every profile and message thread.
The fine print is more cautious: the terms say the operator “does not verify user-generated content for accuracy”. Manual review catches obvious fakes; it does not prove that the person behind a profile is who they say.
Privacy tip: profiles can be public, and the FAQ confirms a public profile can show up on Google or Bing. If you don’t want that, switch your profile to members-only in Settings before you add photos.
Real profiles or scam? Fake profiles and complaints
freshSingle states in its FAQ that it does not create or run any profiles itself, while admitting that individual users can still sign up with false information. That is the honest version of what every free site faces. Its own scam guide warns about the pattern you are most likely to meet: someone who quickly asks to move the chat to Signal, Zangi, Telegram or WhatsApp, then builds trust for weeks before an “emergency” and a request for money.
The FTC’s romance scam page lists the same red flags: pushing you off the platform, living far away and unable to meet, asking for money for travel, visas or medical bills, crypto tips, and payment by gift card, wire or crypto. Never send money to someone you have not met in person, and report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov as well as to the site.
Reviews: freshSingle.com has no Trustpilot page (October 2026), and it has no app-store ratings because it has no store app, so there is little public review data either way. The look-alike is another story: FreshSingles.com on Trustpilot scores 3.0 from 93 reviews, with 45% one-star. The complaints are about suspected bot or AI profiles, not being told up front that it is pay-to-chat, no way to try it without a card, and unexpected charges. Many of the people asking “is FreshSingle a scam?” are describing that site.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Genuinely free: messaging and chat cost nothing, for everyone.
- Identifiable operator with a German address and terms under German law.
- Manual profile review, video ID verification and a verified-only inbox option.
- No affiliate program, no pay-per-message tricks.
- Easy self-service account deletion.
Cons
- Small pool: a few profiles in small US towns, an international mix overall.
- No App Store or Google Play app, only a home-screen web app.
- Basic search, no real matching features.
- Ads unless you buy the Ad-Free Plan, whose price is shown only at checkout.
- A look-alike paid site with nearly the same name causes real confusion.
How to delete your freshSingle account
There is no subscription to cancel unless you bought the Ad-Free Plan. To delete your profile, per the FAQ:
- Log in to freshsingle.com.
- Open Settings.
- Select Cancel Membership and confirm.
Your profile disappears from freshSingle at once, but Google or Bing may keep showing an old public profile for a while until they recrawl it. Forum posts stay up with your name anonymized, per the terms. For anything else, email support@freshsingle.com.
If you signed up at FreshSingles.com by mistake, its terms say you cancel by email (support@freshsingles.com, with your username and email address) or by phone at 877-381-0324, at least 24 hours before renewal.

How I rate it
I give freshSingle.com 3 out of 5. The rating is based on public information, not on hands-on use: its pricing (free, with an optional ad-free plan), the features and safety tools its FAQ and terms describe, the size and activity its public pages show, its app-store presence (none) and overall value. Scores: value for money 5, safety and verification 3.5, evidence of an active user base 2, features for its audience 2, transparency 3.5. It loses most of its points on reach, not honesty.
