What is LuvCougar and how does it work?

LuvCougar is a niche dating site that connects the younger generation with a more mature generation of women. It doesn’t seem to be only focused on hookups, as there’s language about finding longer term relationships as well. Woo!

Who is LuvCougar right for?

LuvCougar.com is for you if you’re:

✔️Single and looking for a mature woman to date.

✔️An older woman looking to date younger men.

✔️Someone looking for casual relationships and hookups with no strings attached.

✔️Someone looking for a more mature and long-term relationship.

✔️Open to matches from partner networks.

Who is LuvCougar not right for?

You may want to consider other dating sites if you’re:

✖️Part of a couple looking to match with a cougar.

✖️Looking for a cougar dating site with a lot of free features available.

On LuvCougar.com, there are approximately 100,000 profiles to search through, (more males than females) which you can do by clicking on a pic or using the search filters. It seems like the algo gods took a much needed break because there's not really much of an algorithm going on here. At least the search filters are pretty advanced and can help you find what you're looking for.

If you find someone you’re interested in, you can ask for their photo, chat with them, “like” them, and add to your favorites. You’ll be able to access this under your activity page to see who has also viewed, liked and favorited you as well.

Additionally, you can use the Like Gallery which brings up a (youuuu guessed it!) Tinder style swiping game to X, ♥️, or 🗨️with someone.

Oooh - there's also the option to send a mass automated message (FlirtCast) to a bunch of people to help with your cougar search! If you don’t like the question, you can hit refresh for a new one. Love that.

Outside of that, there isn’t much else!

📝 The tl;dr on LuvCougar

My first impression of LuvCougar's main feed was that it looked crowded and has a lot of new profiles with no pics, which makes it harder to spot duplicate profiles. Even though it looked a little messy, I did like how there were a lot of profiles to choose from.

Here's what else I noticed about LuvCougar:

• Crowded layout but still pretty intuitive to use.
• Clean, basic profiles.
• Some duplicate pics/profiles, plus a lot of new profiles, with most coming from partner networks.
• Simple and intuitive.
• No mobile app. Sigh.
• You’re automatically pulled into partner network sites unless you turn off the setting for it.

Here are some juicy questions I had about the LuvCougar dating site:

How to delete LuvCougar account: Deleting the Luv Cougar account is pretty easy, just click on your profile pic and click on "My Settings". Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see the "Remove Account" tab and then tap on that to remove your LuvCougar account.

Is LuvCougar legit for age gap dating? Yes, LuvCougar is a legit way to meet those outside of your age gap. I was able to talk to cougars, but I also had the option to date those my age also.

Is LuvCougar.com free to use? LuvCougar.com is definitely free to check out! My access was pretty limited (I couldn’t even see full size photos), but still cool to see what I can get for free.

Can men and women find a cougar on LuvCougar.com? They sure can - both of them! I was also able to filter my sexual orientation by bi-sexual - hooray for luv!!

Does my LuvCougar profile get pulled into partner networks?: Unfortunately it will! This means you’ll show up on other dating sites with your LuvCougar profile. You can turn this off in settings though. Go to “My Settings” then “Partner Network Settings” and uncheck the box that says “I agree to promote my profile on partner sites with Partner Network.”

Does LuvCougar.com have verified profiles?: Kinda! Members can verify with a text message or phone call, but there is no way to verify with photos or an ID. So chat at your own risk.

Does LuvCougar have an app?

📵Unfortunately, there is no LuvCougar app!

No it doesn't (boooo!!!), but you can take the mobile version on the go with you by accessing the website on your phone.

What is the signup process like for Luv Cougar?

🐇Fast! Less than 1 minute required.

1. When I sign up for Luv Cougar, the first thing I see is a pop up message asking if I'm at least 18 years old - something I haven't seen before!

2. After I click on "yes" to confirm I’m over 18, I choose who I am and who I'm looking for, my age, location, email, and a password.

Side note: you can also choose ‘woman looking for a woman’ or ‘man looking for a man’ here! You CAN’T change this so choose carefully.

3. And just like that, I've created my LuvCougar account! I love it when my time isn't wasted on a lengthy sign up process. This email did end up in my spam, so if you don’t see the confirmation email, check there.

4. Next up, I’m required to add a pic to my profile to attract some more views, check out tips on how to get my pic approved, and activate "Promote My Account.”

Promote My Account is a feature where I can give permission to Luv Cougar to like, send messages to, and add potential matches to my favorites list. Automation ftw.

5. And that’s it! Then I get dropped onto the main feed, which we’ll talk about next.

The LuvCougar.com main feed

I got my first look at the main feed and my first message from the LuvCougar admin. My first impression is it's a little outdated, but I like how the "site admin" checks in.

On the main feed, I can:

• Use “FlirtCast” to send icebreaker messages.
• View all members
• View members that are online now.
• View new members.
• “Chat” with or “Like” profiles directly from the feed.
• Use the search bar to find more matches.
• Use the “Like Gallery” for Tinder style swiping.
• Add a personal status.

It’s a really easy to navigate interface, and other than the millions of profiles it shows right away, it’s clean and intuitive, with the most important options right in front of you – “Chat” and “Like.”

One thing I noticed is there are A LOT of new profiles here, and almost all are pulled in from partner networks. You do have the ability to prevent your profile from showing up in partner networks as well, but if you do that, you’re met with this message:

What are the Luv Cougar profiles like?

The Luv Cougar profiles are basic and straight to the point - no frills here! Here's a breakdown of what the profiles show:

• Profile pic.
• Age.
• Personal info such as hair color, orientation, body type, ethnic origin.
• Looking for.
• Location.
• If the user comes from a partner site or not (also good to know that my pic will be used on other sites in case I didn't read the terms/conditions).
• Similar users along the bottom.
• You can also report or block profiles.

What are the search capabilities for Luv Cougar?

The search options are limited but purposeful.

The first thing I notice is that the first field is set to "find me a man" and can't be changed. Luckily, I can choose "any or bi" under sexual orientation (I actually did end up deleting and setting up my profile again because it was too difficult to find women this way). Here, I can search by,

• Age range
• Location

There were also advanced search filters available!

I could search by,

• Whether or not they had a photo.
• Age.
• Location.
• Piercings.
• Tattoos.
• Ethnicity.
• Hair color.

Basically everything that’s available to set up in your profile.

Is Luv Cougar free to use?

✅Yes! There are free features available.

Sure is! All you need to do is create an account and then you can check it out for free. While this isn’t confirmed, there appears to be more free features available if you sign up as a “woman looking for a man” rather than “woman looking for a woman” which I get into a bit.

LuvCougar features for free vs “Premium Date”

Not sure whether you should pay to use Luv Cougar or stick with the free version? I feel ya! That's why I checked out both options for you so you don't have to - unless you want to.

Using the free account for LuvCougar

Luv Cougar is free to use…to a point. Here's what I was able to do for free:

• Create a profile.
• View others' profiles and pics.
• Like and favorite other users.
• Search for members.
• Like or pass on pics in the "like gallery.”
• 5 free chats (if you signed up as a ‘woman seeking woman’ – unlimited if you signed up as “woman looking for man” from what I noticed.)

Additionally… I did an (accidental) experiment and noticed that when my sexual preferences were set up to be “woman seeking man” I had access to full view sized images and full profiles for free.

Whereas when I was a “woman seeking a woman” it made me upgrade to see the same things!

While it’s not officially shared anywhere, it seems “women seeking men” have access to a lot more features, presumably so they’ll use it more often and keep the men entertained, since there are more men than women on the site?

Paid subscription costs & features for LuvCougar

💰Cost ranges from $0.64/day to $0.95/day.

Freebies are always fun, but sometimes it pays to…well, pay! So how much does LuvCougar cost to use?

I had three different “Premium Dater” tiers to choose from which were shown as a cost per day vs. month which I haven’t see very often:

• Premium dater: $0.95/day.
• Extra benefits: $0.45/day.
• Chataholic: $0.64/day.

You’ll have to pay for it in monthly increments up front, however!

Here's what I could do for a lil’ extra:

• Browse in incognito mode.
• Auto history cleaning.
• Rank higher in searches.
• Get a read receipt.
• Be seen 5x more.

I also happened to come across another payment screen on the new profile I created (because I messed up my original one) with different options as someone seeking women:

The costs here were,

• 3 days for $2.99.
• 1 week for $9.99.
• 1 month for $38.99.
• 3 months for $57.99.

Another difference here is you get discounts depending on how long your subscription is, with all the same features included, instead of having to choose different prices depending on the feature you want to use. 🤔

It definitely seems like there are two pricing structures for straight women vs. men.

What sets Luv Cougar apart?

There are a few different things that sets the LuvCougar app apart from the rest of the cougar dating sites. Here's what they are:

• Access to full-sized pics of users (depending on your account type.)
• Users can be pulled in from partner apps, which means a bigger pool.
• Can send unlimited pics/vids in private messages.
• Interface is intuitive (though a bit crowded.)
• You get 5 free chats when you sign up instead of having messaging completely restricted as a free user.
• FlirtCast could be used to send mass messages and help break the ice if I wasn’t sure what to say (or didn’t have time to individually message everyone.) It could also be manually refreshed for new ones to use!

Pros and cons of LuvCougar

No one is perfect 100% of the time, and that goes for LuvCougar as well! There were a few things that I liked about the LuvCougar.com dating site, and then there were some things that I didn't like so much…

✔️ What I liked about Luv Cougar

It was fun checking out Luv Cougar, especially for free! Here's what else I liked about the Luv Cougar dating site:

• Signing up was easy: Super simple registration process.
• FlirtCast: I was able to send an automatic initial message to attract more views.
• Pics & videos: I could send both pics and vids rather than only pics.
• Free search had a lot of features: The search filter had several options to narrow searches by rather than making me pay for them.
• 5 free chats: It was nice to start off with some chats to use for free rather than being limited!
• Decent profiles: The profiles had just enough on them for me to learn more about members.
• Minimal spam: I didn’t see an abundance of fake/spam profiles.
• Legit convos: The messages felt legit and not spammy.

❌ What I didn't like about LuvCougar

Of course things aren't always as perfect as they seem, and LuvCougar has a few minor flaws. Here's what I wasn't crazy about:

• There is no mobile app.
• Tiny pics: The pics are small if you don’t have a paid account for full size, and the layout looks a little too crowded IMO.
• Limited free features: Limited features with the basic version, like only 5 free chats, no full sized photos, etc.
• Limited profile verification: No way to get your profile verified via photo, only text and phone.
• Auto-renewal subscription: Subscription will auto renew if you don’t cancel! Be careful not to pay the “oops I forgot” tax.
• Profiles from partner networks: Profiles are getting pulled in from partner networks like BeNaughty.com, so not everyone here seems to be using LuvCougar for cougar dating. 🤔Because of this, there were also a lot of “maure” (aka older) men, which didn’t seem right for a cougar dating site.
• You’re pulled into partner networks by default: If you don’t change your settings, you’re automatically set to be pulled into partner networks as well.

Is Luv Cougar legit for cougar dating?

Yes it is! The Luv Cougar site admins monitor their members and will ban any profiles that seem to be illegitimate. I did see a few profiles with the same pic pop up, so just be weary and make sure you're talking to a legit person before you share some spicy pics!

There also seems to be a lot of new people joining that haven’t added their pics yet. I wouldn’t necessarily count them as fake profiles but they do seem to be pulled in from a partner network, so there may not be as many fish in the sea as it seems.

Another thing I thought was a little weird (or maybe a positive sign??) is when I signed up the first time, I didn’t change the option for who I was looking for, thinking I could search for women using the search filters, or change my sexual preference in my profile. I couldn’t do either and was stuck looking at men with it being really challenging to find women cougars!

With my first profile, I didn’t get any messages over the day or so that I was exploring before I realized this. I ended up deleting my LuvCougar profile and signing up again using the “woman looking for a woman” option and had 2 legit messages within 10 minutes of signing up.

So, final thoughts on my LuvCougar review?

The LuvCougar dating site is a good starter site for someone new to the cougar dating scene. There are a lot of profiles to choose from and several diff options to filter your search results by. I wasn’t 100% a fan of the partner network situation, because some of the sites that profiles got pulled in from weren’t in the cougar dating niche. It felt like it defeated the purpose of signing up since I had to actively seek out cougars myself using the search filters.
