I googled some more cougar dating sites to check out, and up popped Cougared — another dating site focused on age gap dating. It said it was 100% free to use and had thousands of profiles.

Cougared is for unconventional daters who like to be open-minded and date outside the box. Those who like dating outside of the typical age range have a chance to find who they're looking for in a comfortable atmosphere.

Once I finished signing up, there was a waiting period before I could fully access the site. This is because each profile gets manually approved, which is great! The only weird thing is they tried to immediately send me to Match.com and Mature Adult Friend Finder while waiting.

Joining Cougared was faster than restarting my laptop! It took me 2 steps to sign up — I could do everything on one page. After that, I had to wait to get my profile approved, which took a while.

While it may have been legit back in the day, it doesn't seem as legit now. At the top of the homepage, there are ad links for Match.com with BROKEN links. The site says they have thousands of members, which is less than most sites with millions. Tbh, I understand why Cougared is completely free — they need the new members desperately.
