If you're new here, while I was on my sugar daddy dating kick, I was wondering if there were any dating sites out there for cougars? Turns out there are a bunch of dating sites out there to go cougar hunting on! One of the first ones that caught my eye when looking around was Cougar Life, so I decided to give it a go!
Cougar Life felt a bit more legit than some other cougar dating sites in the space. It immediately got my attention with its vibrant colors, branding, and ability for women to match with women!
What is Cougar Life & who is it best for?
Cougar Life is a dating site where mature women can meet younger people (aka cubs) in search of a mutually beneficial relationship. It's one of the oldest cougar dating sites and was launched in 2006 by Canadian company, Ruby Life Media (who also owns Ashley Madison). It appears to get about 100,000 new users each month.
From my research (and what I noticed on the site) it seems like most women are 35+ with men aged 18-34, with a higher percentage of men.
✅ Singles looking to match with cougar (older, more mature ladies).
✅ Mature women who enjoy dating younger men or women.
✅ Those looking for a casual hookup or relationship.
⛔ May not be for you if you're seeking a long-term relationship, looking to date someone close in age, or aren't open to dating women.
Is Cougar Life legit?
The fact that its sister site is Ashley Madison makes Cougar Life legit to me! However, when I searched through some Cougar Life reviews on Google, an article popped up about how several women were pretending to be top executives of several dating sites, including Cougar Life. Since then, Cougar Life has been trying hard to rebuild their image.
As far as safety? It does not appear there's any fraudulent activity or security issues with CougarLife.com, but as always, DYOR.
📝 The tl;dr on Cougar Life
My first impression of Cougar Life is that it was super fast to sign up! Here's some other things that stood out:
- A blog with TONS of dating advice.
- Non judgemental space to date different age gaps.
- Fairly large database.
- Free features and account available.
- Cougars can message free!
- Cougar Life app available for iOS but not Android/Google Play.
Cougar Life Main Feed & Interface
The main feed is pretty simple, which isn't a bad thing. I'm able to see suggested matches, "heart" them, start chatting (depending on my account level), change my search filters, and click the little hamburger menu to get to my account settings.
Is the Cougar Life dating site free?
✅ Free account available
Yes it is! I was able to sign up for free and do a lot of exploring and flirting without paying anything.
Credit packages cost & features for Cougar Life app
💰 Credit packages range from $49.99 to $199.99
The Cougar Life dating app is unique as they offer credit packages instead of pricing tiers. You have to pay credits for each special feature you want to use such as:
- Requesting private keys to view private albums.
- Sending messages to cougars (9 credits).
- Sending priority mail (14 credits).
- Open messages (5 credits).
- Send gifts (Up to 35 credits).
Pricing: 100 credits = $49.99, 200 credits = $79.99, 500 credits = $139.99, 1000 credits = $199.99.
What sets Cougar Life apart?
- Cougar Life blog: A blog for both mature women and younger men with tips on navigating cougar relationships.
- Find a date: Helps women find a date on a specific day.
- Private photo gallery: Public and private photo galleries for your pics.
- Flirt: Send flirts without saying a word!
- Virtual gifts: Virtual gifts serve as bragging rights.
- Priority Mail: Puts your messages at the top of a cougar's inbox.
So, final thoughts for my Cougar Life review?
Overall, the site felt pretty legit to use, minus some profiles that seemed questionable. I really enjoyed chatting with the cougars to switch things up from the sugar daddies. I had more meaningful connections, but the connections were harder to make than on sugar daddy sites. Also, unless I paid up for the credit packages, I couldn't really chat with potential cougars!
