While I was checking out the PinkCupid dating app, I realized how less stressed I was and how much fun the convos I was having with other women were. I wanted to keep up with my women-forward dating apps, so one of my friends told me about the HER app when we were hanging out. I had never heard of the app before, but I'm ready for anything.
I went onto the HER site when I got home that night, and was immediately in love with the brand voice, aesthetics, and how inclusive it felt.
If you're as excited as I am about my HER app review, then let's get things started!
📝Who is the HER dating app for?
The HER dating app is very inclusive and for women who identify as bisexual, lesbian, queer, or pansexual. While the HER app is used mostly for dating, you can still join if you're looking for just a friend or haven't come out yet. It's also great for those who travel a lot and are looking to check out the queer scene in other locations safely.
Is the HER app legit for the queer community?
When I went to download the HER app from the Apple Store, I noticed it received an amazing 4.4 out of 5 star rating from 45,699 reviews! If that's not legit enough for you, I don't know what is! Buttt, if you do need some more convincing, then there are several success stories on their website, and there's also a whole section dedicated to how to meet someone safely in person.
Worth mentioning that HER was built by queer women, for queer women, so the company ethos and what they created is from within the community, and not outside of it. Safety, comfort and inclusivity are huge parts of the app experience from the language used, to the events, to the groups you can join. So is HER legit? Yes, imo.
The TL;DR on Weareher.com
HER has been around for a decade since launching in September 2013. I had never heard of HER until now, so I was happy to see it's been thriving since then!
Is there a desktop version? Nope! You can only access it via mobile app.
How do I delete HER account? Here's how to delete your HER account for good:
- Go to your profile
- Click on the gear icon
- Tap on privacy options
- Click on "delete my account and data"
Can I pause my HER account? If you may have found the one, or just need a break, you can def put your Weareher.com account on hold. They let you go into "Incognito Mode" so you're not visible, plus if you're inactive for a period of time, they just hide your profile for you.
What is a pride pin? It's a way to show more of who you are! You can choose from several different ones such as Kinky, T4T, Pillow Princess, and Lipstick Lez.
Does HER have verified profiles? Yes! If you want to verify your profile, you can go into Settings and click "Verify Profile."
Is there a HER app to use?
Def! Actually, it's the only way to use HER. There's no desktop version, but who still uses the desktop anyway? You can download it for iOS or Android.
So, how do I sign up for HER dating?
Signing up for the HER App is super easy! You have a few different ways to sign up such as: Apple, Facebook, phone, or Insta. The HER dating app combines multiple questions in one screen which is a super smart time saver. You'll add your name, birthday, email, photos (at least 3), pronouns, sexual identity, gender identity, relationship status, what you're looking for, height, interests, pets, astrological sign, and a bio.
What's the search capabilities like for Her?
Tbh, one thing I didn't like is you aren't able to search as a free user. There are filters once you level up your subscription to Gold or Premium including gender identity, height, star sign, relationship status, and last online.
Is the HER dating app free to use?
Yes it is, but there are limits and annoying giant ads. If you want to explore the app, you can definitely download it, join and browse around. You just can't do as much as you can on other dating apps.
HER free account features

What sets the HER app apart from the rest?

- You can connect your Spotify account to show your fave hits and artists!
- Account verification to limit the scammers.
- Go incognito (paying members only).
- Participate in communities.
- Pride Pins let you show off a little bit about yourself visually.
- Huge emphasis on safety, to the point where you can't take screenshots of the main feed!
Final thoughts on my HER review
I was really excited to dive into this app and see what HER was all about. After using a lot of other dating apps that had inclusive sexuality options, exploring one that was in the LGBTQ+ space was a completely different experience! From a safety standpoint, I also felt like I was free to be myself without worrying about negativity or wondering if I fit into the community.
On top of that, I loved being able to message people and join different communities to meet more people from various walks of life and interests. Also worth pointing out that there were tons of attractive people, and the few convos I had were a blast. I'm def gonna keep using the HER app to see who else I can connect with.
