Secret Meets Review 2026: Legit or Waste of Money?
The Secret Meets dating site (secretmeet.com) is a real, working website, but I would not pay for it. It is a browser-based chat site where signing up is free and almost every conversation costs credits, it publishes no price list I could open, and a large share of public reviews describe bot-like profiles and spending that adds up fast. If you want a discreet date that can actually happen offline, pick an established affair or hookup site with clear pricing instead.
What is the Secret Meets dating site, and who runs it?
Secretmeet describes itself as “your comfort zone for deep, meaningful connections”. In practice it is a website you use in a browser on a phone or computer: you create a profile, browse members and chat by text. Most people type “Secret Meets”, but the site’s name and address are Secretmeet and secretmeet.com.
Who is behind it is unclear. Its Trustpilot business profile gives no company name, lists the business in the United States and gives one contact, support@secretmeet.help. A long user thread on the Dating Sites Reviews forum says the company is based in Gibraltar. I could not settle this: secretmeet.com blocks automated visitors (including the tools I use for research), so I could not open its terms, which is where the legal operator would normally be named. Before you pay, open the terms on the site yourself and look for a company name and address. If there is none, that tells you something.
Who it is for (and who should skip it)
- Might suit: adults who want online flirting and chat only, know it is paid entertainment and can stop at a fixed budget.
- Skip it if: you want to meet someone in person, you are on a tight budget, or you are married and looking for something discreet that leads to a real meeting. Sites built for that, with clear subscriptions, are listed below.
- Not for: anyone under 18.
How it works: profiles, chat and meeting
From what reviewers and the site’s own replies describe, the flow is simple: sign up free, add a photo, browse profiles, and start chatting. Company replies on Trustpilot say credits are spent only on features users choose to use. A reviewer on SmartCustomer also notes there are no read receipts.
Three things stand out from the user reports:
- Messages arrive fast. A forum poster said a profile with no photo became “instantly popular”, with attractive women seemingly online day and night.
- Moving off the site is blocked. The same poster said links and usernames for other apps were filtered out of chats.
- Meeting is not really built in. He described a site that presents itself as a place to chat, with no way to arrange to meet. That matters: if you cannot take a conversation off the site, every message keeps costing money.
Is Secretmeet free? How the credits work
Signing up and browsing are free. Talking is not. Users describe a pay-per-action system rather than a monthly subscription: credits are charged for chat time, for letters, and for opening photos or videos, and the forum thread mentions paid virtual gifts too. Reviewers on ProductReview.com.au mention needing coins to see blurred videos.
Prices are not published anywhere I could open (checked October 2026). The site blocked my access, its review-platform profiles list no prices, and one SmartCustomer reviewer said it took “like 4 days to figure out” what they were spending per message. Some third-party sites quote credit packs and per-minute rates, but none come from Secretmeet itself, so I am not repeating them. You will only see real prices after you sign up.
There is one upside: with credits there is no auto-renewing subscription. A ProductReview reviewer liked exactly that. The downside is that there is no ceiling either.
How to keep the cost under control
None of the top results explain how to protect your wallet on a credit site. If you try it anyway:
- Set a total budget before you sign up and buy the smallest pack. Do not top up mid-conversation, which is exactly when it is tempting.
- Compare the package price with the checkout price. A Trustpilot reviewer reported a difference between the two, and the company replied that its team “can look into” it.
- Screenshot every purchase and keep the receipt emails. A 1-star reviewer complained that credits drained fast with no transaction history.
- Pay with a card you can dispute (a credit card or a virtual card with a limit), never a gift card or crypto.
- If something was charged that you did not approve, email support@secretmeet.help first, then ask your bank or card issuer to dispute it.
Fake profiles, bots and complaints
This is the heart of “is it legit”. Public opinion splits hard:
- Trustpilot: 3.6 out of 5 from 2,637 reviews (October 2026), with 51% five-star and 26% one-star. The profile is claimed by the company, which pays for a Trustpilot subscription and replies to reviews. Complaints cluster around per-action costs, profiles that seem “AI-bots infested”, profiles you already talked to showing up again as new, and slow support.
- ProductReview.com.au: 4.0 from 21 reviews, but complaints include women who seemed far younger and overseas giving AI-style replies, and one member who said seven emails asking for account deletion went unanswered. Some positive reviews carry a “Fair Incentive” label, which suggests the reviewer was given something for writing them.
- SmartCustomer: 4.0 from 44 reviews, with praise for friendly chats and support, and complaints that the cost “adds up fast” and some openers read like copy and paste.
- Forums: the Dating Sites Reviews thread calls Secretmeet and about a dozen look-alike sites “dubious at best”, saying the poster could not tell the women apart from chatbots and suspected paid chatters. Google’s AI summary of Quora answers says most advise avoiding it.
On its side, Secretmeet says on Trustpilot that it works to detect and remove suspicious activity, that it has a strict anti-fraud policy, and that “many profiles are verified”. Note the word many: not all, and there is no public explanation of what the check involves. I cannot prove any given profile is fake. But the pattern users describe, very attractive and always-online members, paid photos, and blocked contact details, is the classic pay-to-chat model, and that is why the verdict box above is red.
Is there a Secret Meet app? Which “Secret” is which
Search “Secret Meet” on the App Store or Google Play and you will find apps with similar names that are not secretmeet.com. Secretmeet is used in the browser; I found no app store listing from it. Here is what you will run into (checked October 2026):
| Name you see | What it actually is | Who makes it | Key numbers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Secretmeet (secretmeet.com) | Web chat site, credits per action | Not named on any page I could open | Trustpilot 3.6 from 2,637 reviews |
| Sugar Meet & Hookup - SecretMe (Android) | Separate swipe and “secret message” app | Meet You Network Ltd, developer address in China | 4.6 stars, 2.15K reviews, 100K+ downloads, Mature 17+ |
| Sugar Meet & Dating Me: Secret (iPhone) | Separate app with Premium and coins | Meet Mi Network Ltd | 4.5 stars, 8.8K ratings; Premium $14.99 a month, $26.99 for 3 months, $39.99 for 6 months; coins $2.99 to $9.99 |
| Secret (2014) | Anonymous sharing app, not dating | Secret, Inc. | Shut down in 2015 |
| secretmeets.com | Not a dating site: redirects to a placeholder page | n/a | n/a |
The SecretMe and Secret apps share a website, and their terms of use name MeetYou Network LTD as the operator. Nothing ties them to secretmeet.com. The iPhone app’s Premium plans renew automatically unless you turn them off at least 24 hours before the period ends. The Velvet app that also shows up in Google for this search is a third, unrelated app.
Safety: red flags and how to report
Every chat site attracts scammers as well as paid chatters. The FTC’s romance scam guide lists the signs to watch for, and they apply here:
- The person cannot meet, lives far away, and keeps finding reasons why not.
- Things move fast, with constant contact and big feelings early.
- They ask for money, gifts, gift cards, crypto or help with an “investment”.
- They push you to another app, especially after you have already paid to chat.
The basics: never send money or gifts to someone you have not met, keep personal details (workplace, home address, last name) to yourself until you trust someone, verify with a live video call before any meeting, and meet in a public place, telling a friend where you are. Report suspicious profiles to support@secretmeet.help, and report any money loss at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
One note on a related search, “how to find hidden dating profiles”: this page does not cover tools for looking up a specific person’s accounts. If you suspect a partner is on a site like this, a direct conversation, or a counselor, will tell you more than a search tool.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Free to sign up and browse
- No auto-renewing subscription, you buy credits as you go
- Works in any browser, nothing to install
- Company replies to reviews and has a support email
Cons
- No published price list; costs are per message, minute, photo or video
- Many reports of bot-like or paid profiles
- Contact details blocked, so meeting in person is hard
- Operator and terms not publicly identifiable from the pages I could open
- Reports of unanswered account deletion requests
How to stop paying and delete your account
Because there is no subscription, there is nothing to cancel: stop buying credits and remove any saved card from your account. To close the account, look for a delete option in your profile settings, and if you cannot find one, email support@secretmeet.help asking for your account and data to be deleted. Keep a copy of the email. Since a ProductReview member said repeated deletion emails went unanswered, follow up after a week, and if a card keeps being charged, dispute it with your bank.
Better alternatives to Secret Meets
If you came for discretion, these platforms have published plans and a real track record:
- For a discreet affair: Ashley Madison, the best-known site for married people; see my Ashley Madison review.
- For a smaller affair site: Heated Affairs.
- For open-minded and non-monogamous dating: Feeld.
- For casual dating with a huge pool: Tinder or Bumble; for something more serious, Hinge.

How I rate it
I give Secret Meets 2 out of 5. That rating is based on public pricing, features, safety tools, app store and review-platform reputation and value, not on hands-on use. Value for money: 1.5 (every interaction costs credits and there is no route to meeting). Safety and verification: 2 (an anti-fraud policy and “many” verified profiles, but no public detail and many bot complaints). Evidence of an active user base: 2.5 (thousands of recent reviews, but many doubt the profiles are real people). Features for people who want to date: 2 (text chat, photos and gifts, contact sharing blocked). Transparency: 1.5 (no public price list, no named operator, terms not reachable, and complaints about unclear per-message costs).
Frequently asked questions
Is Secret Meet a legit dating app?
Secretmeet is a real, working website with thousands of recent reviews, so it is not a vanish-overnight scam. But it works like a pay-to-chat site: almost every interaction costs credits, contact details are blocked and many reviewers describe bot-like profiles. I would not pay for it if you want to meet someone in person.
Is there a free Secret Meet app for Android?
Secretmeet is used in a web browser and I found no app store listing from it. The SecretMe app on Google Play is a different product made by Meet You Network Ltd, and the Secret app on iPhone is made by Meet Mi Network Ltd. Check the developer name before you install anything.
Is Secret Meets free?
Signing up and browsing are free, but chatting, sending letters and opening photos or videos cost credits, according to user reports. Secretmeet publishes no price list I could open in October 2026, so you only see prices after signing up.
Are there any secret free dating sites?
No discreet site gives you everything free: someone pays for moderation and servers, so expect a subscription or credits somewhere. Free sign-up is common, so compare what each site charges before you add a card, and avoid sites that hide their prices until after you join.
What is the most secretive dating app?
For married people, Ashley Madison is the best-known site built around discretion. Whatever you choose, use a photo and username that do not identify you publicly, and keep your workplace, address and last name private until you trust someone.
