Best Dating Sites for Older Women and Younger Men (2026)
The best dating site for an older woman and a younger man is Cougar Life if the age gap is the whole point, since women start conversations free and the men who join are there for exactly that. Pick CougarD if you want a cheaper, app-first option with verified profiles, and eHarmony or Match if you want a serious relationship and are happy to set a wide age range on a mainstream site.
Below: the ranking, who pays on each site (it is usually not the woman), what each one costs per month from its App Store listing, what “verified” actually proves, and how to make an age-gap match last past the third date.

Prices checked October 2026 on each app’s US App Store listing and AgeMatch’s help center (linked in each section). Apple shows some items without saying how long they last; where that is the case, the table says so instead of guessing.
How I ranked them
I ranked these sites on public information, not on hands-on use for this page: each site’s App Store listing (rating, number of ratings and in-app prices, checked October 2026), its help center and own description, what verification it really offers, and how well it serves the two people this page is about: a woman who wants a younger partner, and a younger man who wants her. The rating next to each one is the score from my original hands-on review of that site, linked in the table. Niche cougar sites go first because everyone on them already wants the age gap; mainstream sites follow because they have far more members and a better shot at something long-term.
Cougar Life: best overall for older women dating younger men
Cougar Life is the oldest name in this niche and the one built most squarely around this dynamic. Its App Store listing describes it as “an open-minded place for confident, independent women to meet younger men” and says women “can start a conversation with anyone for no charge.” Men pay with credits, and extras like Priority Mail push a man’s message to the top of her inbox. The listing has 4.2 stars from 1,722 ratings (October 2026).
The in-app store lists credit packages from $13.99 to $79.99, a 1 Month Membership at $49.99, a 3 Month Membership at $99.99 and Priority Listing at $29.99. In my Cougar Life review I found most women were 35 and up and most men 18 to 34, with more men than women, which is good news if you are the woman and a numbers game if you are the man.
- Who it suits: women who want a younger man without having to explain the preference, casual or ongoing.
- The catch: it leans casual, and men can spend fast on credits. The listing itself notes that its screenshot photos are of models.
CougarD: best app and best value for younger men
CougarD is an app-first cougar site that has been online since 2016, according to its website, which also claims more than 150,000 new users a month. Its App Store listing has 4.2 stars from 50,712 ratings (October 2026), far more than any other cougar app, and says every profile is manually verified and female members are video verified. It is only for straight men and women.
VIP pricing is published on the listing and auto-renews: $29.99 for one month, $28.35 a month on three months and $23.33 a month on six months. Coin packs run $9.99 to $49.99. In my CougarD review free members could reply to messages, but starting a chat took a paid upgrade, and daily free coins helped stretch a free account.
- Who it suits: younger men who want the cheapest monthly price in the niche, and women who prefer an app over a website.
- The catch: verification claims are the company’s own, and it is not open to LGBTQ+ daters.
eHarmony: best for a long-term relationship
eHarmony is not a cougar site, but it is the strongest pick on this list if you want a partner rather than a fling, because its matching starts from a long compatibility questionnaire instead of photos. Age is just a preference you can widen: its help center explains how to open Discover and change your match preferences, including age and distance, at any time. As I wrote in my eHarmony review, the quiz covers 32 dimensions of compatibility and the site is built for people who want something serious.
The eHarmony App Store listing has 4.1 stars from 49,383 ratings and in-app prices from $59.99 to $349.99 (October 2026), without the plan lengths. It is the most expensive way in on this list.
- Who it suits: women in their 40s and 50s who would happily date younger but care more about values than the age gap.
- The catch: you will not find a crowd of men looking specifically for older women, and you cannot browse freely.
Match: best mainstream site with full age control
Match is the safe mainstream choice if you want to set your own age range and search, rather than wait for an algorithm. As I described in my Match review, the sign-up asks for the age range you want to date right from the start, and messaging sits behind a subscription, which filters out a lot of low-effort accounts.
The Match App Store listing shows a 1 Month Standard plan at $44.99 and a 6 Month Bundle at $129.99, with 3.9 stars from 242,482 ratings (October 2026).
- Who it suits: older women who want a large pool of relationship-minded men and like to search on their own terms.
- The catch: plenty of younger men on Match set their age range near their own, so expect fewer incoming messages than on a cougar site.
Zoosk: best budget mainstream option
Zoosk is a large general dating app that Google’s AI answer for this search suggests for age-gap dating, mainly because of its size. Its App Store listing has 4.2 stars from 105,234 ratings and lists subscriptions from $29.99 to $74.99 plus coin packs from $19.99 to $39.99 (October 2026), without the plan lengths. In my Zoosk review I found a generous free version for exploring and a behavioral algorithm that learns from who you like and message.
- Who it suits: anyone who wants a mainstream pool without paying Match or eHarmony prices.
- The catch: coins and subscriptions are separate, so the real cost is easy to underestimate.
AgeMatch: age-gap site with selfie verification
AgeMatch calls itself an age gap dating platform running “since 2001” on its homepage, with interaction limited to verified users and photos masked automatically. Its help center explains that verifying means uploading a 3 to 8 second selfie video, and that a free Standard member can browse, send up to 40 winks a day and reply to Premium members, but cannot start a conversation. Prices are not published before you sign up.
In my AgeMatch review it felt close to a sugar dating site, nearly identical to SugarDaddyMeet, and its upgrade page now says “age gap daddy dating.” It covers older women with younger men too, but it is built mostly for the reverse.
- Who it suits: people who want an age-gap site with selfie verification and a long track record.
- The catch: the crowd skews toward older men and sugar dating, and the homepage states AgeMatch does not run background checks.
Which site fits you: niche cougar site or mainstream app?
The first question is not age, it is what you want. If the age gap is the point, a cougar site saves you from being filtered out by men who set their range to their own age. If you want a relationship and would simply be open to a younger man, a mainstream site gives you far more people to choose from.

- You are a woman who wants younger men and does not want to pay: Cougar Life, where women start chats free.
- You are a younger man on a budget: CougarD, VIP from $23.33 a month on the six-month plan.
- You want to get married: eHarmony, with a wide age range in your match preferences.
- You want to search and filter yourself: Match, or Zoosk if price matters more.
- You also date across bigger gaps in both directions: AgeMatch, knowing it leans toward older men.
If you are 40-something and open to any age, my ranking of the best dating apps for over 40 covers the mainstream side in more depth, and the full list of cougar dating apps ranks every niche site, including the smaller ones like Cougar Pour Moi and Seeking Cougar.
Who pays on each site (usually not her)
The pages ranking for this search skip who actually pays, and in this niche it matters more than the sticker price. The sites split the cost very differently:
- Cougar Life: women start conversations free; men buy credits, per its App Store listing.
- CougarD: free members reply, VIP members start chats. Same price for both sides.
- AgeMatch: a free member can reply only if the other person is Premium. Its help center says messaging works as long as one person in the conversation has an active Premium membership.
- eHarmony, Match and Zoosk: everyone pays the same subscription for full messaging.
So a woman can use Cougar Life without spending anything, and on AgeMatch she can reply free when a Premium member writes first. A younger man should expect to pay on every site here.
What it really costs, and how to cancel
The cheapest real entry points in October 2026, from each App Store listing: CougarD VIP at $29.99 for a month (or $23.33 a month on six months), Zoosk subscriptions from $29.99, Match at $44.99 for a month, Cougar Life’s 1 Month Membership at $49.99 or credit packs from $13.99, and eHarmony from $59.99. No site on this list is fully free for men. If you want a site that costs nothing, my Seeking Cougar review covers a free niche site, but expect a smaller, less active crowd.
Subscriptions renew on their own. CougarD’s listing says all three VIP plans auto-renew. AgeMatch’s help center explains how to stop it: Settings, then Subscriptions, then the link to stop auto-renewal; it does not let you pause a membership, and refund requests go through its customer service. If you paid through Apple, cancel in the iPhone Settings app under your name, then Subscriptions, as AgeMatch’s help center also describes. Deleting an app never cancels a subscription.
Verification: what each site actually checks
“Verified” means different things on different sites, and none of them checks who someone really is. Here is what each says it does:
- AgeMatch: a short selfie video. Its help center is unusually honest that photo verification does not confirm a member’s income, occupation, relationship intentions or criminal history, and the homepage says it does not run background checks.
- CougarD: says profiles are manually verified and women are video verified. That is the company’s claim on its App Store listing.
- Cougar Life: its listing stresses privacy (private photos, data never sold) rather than identity verification.
- Match: as noted in my Match review, it uses automated photo analysis to confirm new users are over 18 and partners with RAINN on safety.
A verified badge tells you the face matches the photos. It does not tell you the person is honest about anything else.
Scams that target older women on dating sites
The age gap makes one script especially common: a younger, attentive man who is never able to meet. The FTC’s romance scam guide lists the signs: he wants to move off the app quickly, says he loves you early, claims to be abroad, in the military or on an oil rig, and then needs money for a medical bill, a plane ticket, a visa or a crypto “opportunity.” Scammers ask to be paid by wire, gift card PINs, payment apps or cryptocurrency.
The money involved is real. In its data spotlight Romance scammers’ favorite lies exposed, the FTC counted nearly 70,000 romance scam reports and $1.3 billion in reported losses for 2022, with a median loss of $4,400. Keep these rules:
- Video call before you meet, and meet in public.
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you have not met.
- Report the profile on the site (AgeMatch, for example, has a report option in the “...” menu of every profile) and report scams to ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
My online dating safety guide covers the rest, from reverse image searches to first-date planning.
Making an older woman, younger man match work
The pages ranking for this search agree on most of the practical advice, and it holds up:
- Say what you want in your profile. “Open to dating younger” or “looking for an older woman” saves both sides time, on niche and mainstream sites alike.
- Name the age gap early, then move on. A light question about where each of you is in life beats pretending it is not there.
- Talk about the big timelines by month three. Kids, marriage, moving and retirement are where real age-gap mismatches show up.
- Expect outside opinions. Friends and family may comment. Share the relationship on your own timeline.
- Watch for red flags, not the number. Someone who fixates on the gap, pushes for money, or tries to cut you off from friends is the problem, whatever his age.
And yes, an older woman can marry a younger man: there is no legal issue between consenting adults, and the age gap matters far less than whether your plans line up.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best dating site for an older woman and a younger man?
Cougar Life is the best-known site built for this, and women can start conversations free there. CougarD is the cheaper app-first alternative, with VIP from $23.33 a month on its six-month plan. For a long-term relationship, eHarmony or Match with a wide age range give you a much bigger pool.
Can an older woman marry a younger man?
Yes. There is no legal barrier between consenting adults, whatever the age difference. What decides whether it works is whether your plans line up on kids, money, location and retirement, so talk about those early.
What is it called when an older man dates a younger woman?
It is usually called a May-December relationship, a term that covers any couple with a large age gap in either direction. When the woman is older, people often say cougar dating, and the younger man is sometimes called a cub.
Which dating site is totally free for older women?
On Cougar Life, women can start conversations for no charge according to its App Store listing, while men pay with credits. Seeking Cougar is free for everyone but much smaller. Mainstream sites like Match and eHarmony charge everyone for full messaging.
What is the safest dating site for older women?
No site can guarantee safety, but sites that verify faces and charge for messaging have fewer fake accounts. AgeMatch uses a selfie video, CougarD says it video verifies women, and Match screens photos for age. Whatever site you use, video call before meeting and never send money.
What does GGG mean on a dating site?
GGG stands for good, giving and game. It is shorthand for someone who is a considerate, generous and open-minded partner, and it shows up most on casual and open-minded dating profiles.
