🍭 Sugarbook Review: Enjoy The Finer Things [2024]

What is Sugarbook and who is it for?

Since my last attempt at checking out a dating site for sugar daddies and sugar babies didn’t go the way I’d expected, I wanted to know — what is Sugarbook and who is it for? Turns out this time I was right on the money…literally.

Sugarbook launched in 2016, so it does have a few years under its belt. If you’re a sugar baby, you’ll be able to sign up for free to use the site. If you’re a sugar daddy though… get ready to pony up some cash! This model reminds me of clubbing in NYC. Hot girls get in free, which attracts the men. If you’re a female student, you get access to the Premium features for free (as long as you verify enrollment.)

The homepage lays it right on the line and says Sugarbook.com is “where romance meets finance.” The basis of the entire site is to meet and negotiate the terms of a relationship with people looking to spoil us and enjoy time together. Sounded pretty good to me — maybe “dating up” was the best idea ever! (remind me to thank my friends later.)

My experience while creating a Sugarbook review showed me that this site is absolutely full of beautiful people looking to connect in a blunt, transparent way. I’d been worried I would feel like a golddigger, but it’s not like that at all. It’s about connecting people in an honest way to give both sides what they want.

Sugarbook claims to have over 4 million members worldwide, so no shortage of sugar daddies for me to meet!

But is Sugarbook legit?!

To say I’ve had mixed experiences on dating websites and IRL would be the understatement of the year. So the last thing I wanted to find was some site promising me incredible sugar daddies only to be scammed by bots and fake profiles. I wanna meet interesting hotties with some extra bucks who can treat me like a princess!

So getting right to it… is Sugarbook legit? And more importantly, is Sugarbook safe? Seems to me it is! The profiles look legit and everything felt pretty real. I’m guessing the part where they have you immediately verify yourself via phone number during the signup process probably keeps a lot of the fake users and bots out (but more on that later).

The vibe wasn’t sketchy, so I was ready to mix and mingle.

The tl;dr on Sugarbook.com

I know some of you like to grab the important info and dive in, so let me give you a quick rundown of what I discovered:

• Sugarbook makes it super easy to make it clear what you’re looking for. No misaligned expectations here.
• The site feels legit, and I didn’t see a ton of evidence pointing to bots or scammers.
• Some of the profiles on there had annual incomes that didn’t feel sugar daddy-level, but I guess that’s up to you.
• The Sugarbook features are kinda basic compared to other sites I’ve tried, but it’s easy to use.
• There are some fun features (like Sugarbook LIVE for streaming!) which I didn’t see on a ton of other sites.

Setting up an account on Sugarbook.com: Getting started on Sugarbook was super easy. I liked that the second screen of the signup process required me to verify my phone number because I feel like that keeps the bots and scammers out. It only asks if you’re male or female (which was more limiting than other sites today) and also only gave me options for seeking out men, not women. That’s interesting since two of the “terms of relationship” you can pick are “LGBTQ Friendly” and “Transgender Friendly” Unlike sites focused on traditional relationships, setting up my profile really only involved my age, photo, and what I’m looking for in a sugar daddy from a list of choices. It wasn’t personality-based at all.

How to delete Sugarbook account: Deleting a Sugarbook account isn’t as easy as it is on other sites. Instead of having the option to delete your account and data from a settings page, you have to contact Sugarbook.com directly and request that they delete your account.

Can I temporarily deactivate my Sugarbook account?: Even though the Sugarbook app and site don’t make it easy to delete your account permanently, you do get the option to deactivate your account by yourself. Clicking the down arrow next to your profile pic in the upper right corner and going to the Settings page, you’ll see “Deactivate Account” without even having to scroll down and search for it. Deactivating technically hides your account as well.

Hiding and unhiding Sugarbook dating profile: Also kinda strange compared to other sites, you can’t hide your Sugarbook dating profile without fully deactivating, even as a paid member. Free members can’t hide anything. Premium members can go to “Settings”, then “Your Activity”, and hide your join date and/or last active date. Premium users can also hide the country of last login, if that’s something you don’t want people to see.

Sugarbook.com profile verification: Aside from verifying your phone number during the Sugarbook signup process, I was glad to see they also offer a blue checkmark verification status that made me think of sites like Twitter (well, I guess it’s called X now, huh?) and Insta. It says it’s just three steps: Upload an international passport/national ID card/driver's license as proof of identification plus a recent selfie or passport photo, wait 2-3 business days for results, and get your verification badge.

Is Sugarbook free? It is! If you want to use more of the features on the site though, you gotta pay for a premium membership. Good news for the students – Sugarbook.com offers free premium memberships to female students with proof of enrollment. Score for the sugar babies!

Is there a Sugarbook app?

You know that’s one of the first things I looked for while working on my Sugarbook review since I’m always on the go. You’d think every dating site would have an app, but that’s not always the case. So… is there a Sugarbook app? Luckily for us, there is. It’s not totally straightforward, though.

You can get the Sugarbook app for Android phones on the Google Play store, but iPhone users don’t have it so easy and it can’t be found on the app store, probably because of what kind of dating site it is? Idk. You can go to their website and click to download it on the homepage though, so it’s not too hard to find.

Full disclosure, I also read a lot of mixed Sugarbook reviews from other users about the app. It seems to sometimes crash or lag, so it’s not totally perfect. I didn’t personally have any issues with it, but be aware that if you come across any, you’re not the only one!

What was the Sugarbook sign up process like?

You know I loooove when a dating site makes it easy to get started, and the Sugarbook sign up process delivered. Since it’s not really about romantic love as much as coming to an arrangement, there’s no need for tons of personality on a profile here which makes it quick. The main things it focused on were age and photo — but that makes sense if a sugar daddy is just looking for some attractive company (kinda inflates my ego a little bit, not gonna lie!)

The whole Sugarbook sign up process took maybe 3 minutes. I clicked “Join Free Today” and followed the steps:

1. I am a…: Sugarbook.com only lets you choose between a man or woman which doesn’t scream inclusivity to me, but what can ya do. When I clicked “Woman”, it gave me a new option of what I was looking for — Sugar daddy or male sugar baby.

   

2. Enter your mobile number:They were super quick to require some type of verification. I hadn’t even given them my name, date of birth, or email yet! Way to move fast, Sugarbook. This felt out of the ordinary, but I appreciate the added feeling of security and layer of protection since (most) scammers won’t want to put that information in, especially if Sugarbook doesn’t allow VOIP numbers, which I’m not 100% sure of.

   

3. Verify your mobile number: This was just a continuation of the previous page. They sent me a simple text message with my verification code in it. Enter it slowly though, because each space will accept more than one number if you type too fast and mine got jumbled up for a sec!

   

4. Create new account: This is when I fiiiiinally put in an email and created a password. Feels like maybe they should do this before a phone number verification, but it was still fast and easy so I’ll let it slide.

   

5. Photo, display name, and birthday: Since most of the other sites I’ve tried had me verify my birthday closer to the beginning, it’s interesting that it’s at the end of the Sugarbook sign up process. It also required a photo, so I chose a pic I look hot in (gotta some sugar daddy attention, right? 🔥), entered my name, and gave my birthday.

   

That was it! Like I said, the Sugarbook app sign up process is short and simple. I didn’t even finish my glass of wine! This is what the main feed looked like:

The top nav is where I could find my messages, start a video call, see my favorites, or go live, and the sidebar had the usual suspects for what I require in the relationship, basic search filters, and advanced search filters.

A pop up window also showed up explaining a few of the site features to me (I’ll get into those here shortly).

How does Sugarbook work once logged in?

How does Sugarbook work once you’re in? Honestly, it’s so simple.

The site doesn’t have a ton of different features or pages, so navigating it is really easy. Some people complained about that in another Sugarbook review, but I liked that I didn’t feel lost or confused about what to do next.

When I was signed in, it recommended that I pick up to 5 “terms of relationship” options so that I could match with sugar daddies who wanted the same things. I liked the variety they had, with choices like:

• Any ethnicity.
• Luxury gifts/lifestyle.
• Weekly or monthly allowance.
• Passport ready. (You know I love to travel!)
• Fine dining experience.
• Access to high net worth individuals.

They also had a few sexier choices letting sugar daddies know you were DTF, if you wanna throw it out there like that. After I picked out my 5 terms of relationship, it put me right on the search page where I could start checking out profiles and finding my match.

As far as my profile, I could add things like,

• Annual income (oooo!)
• Net worth.
• Occupation.
• Lifestyle.
• Education.
• Relationship.
• Smoking/Drinking.
• Height.
• Body type.
• Ethnicity.
• Eye color.
• Hair color.
• Children.
• The lifestyle I’m seeking, which is KEY for an app like this.

What’s searching and matching like on Sugarbook app?

Sugarbook is one of the few dating apps where there seems to be as many search features for free members as there are for premium ones. Tbh, there isn’t much more that being a premium member added to the list outside of some incognito things and free coins.

Free members on Sugarbook.com can search by filters like:

• Recently active.
• Nearby and newest members.
• Ethnicity.
• Age, eye color, hair color, etc.
• Education.
• Relationship status.
• Smoking and drinking habits.

That’s not too bad for searching as a free member! In fact, the only extra search filters you get as a premium member on the Sugarbook app are:

• Premium membership status.
• Location.
• Who viewed me.
• Recently viewed by.

Sugarbook.com doesn’t put many of the search filters behind the premium paywall, but I think that may be because the site is kinda light on the premium features to begin with. Let’s dive into some of that so you can see for yourself. 👇

Is Sugarbook free to use?

What about paying — is Sugarbook free? Yep, it sure is! Like almost every dating site ever, they offer a free membership to get you to sign up. They also have their premium membership upgrade that gives you access to (a few) more features.

Comparing free vs. premium features on Sugarbook app

When I first got started, I wanted to check out the Sugarbook dating site as a free member, cause no way am I gonna jump right into a paid membership. They made it super easy to see what you can get as a premium member on the main site and on their very handy Sugarbook FAQ pages. Sooo what are the main differences in features??

Features for free account on Sugarbook.com

Here’s what I could do on the Sugarbook app for free:

• I could see who viewed me, favorited me, and favorite them back.
• Message other people (but this is limited, of course!)
• View profiles.
• Search for people using tons of different filters.
• Add my verification to prove I’m real and get my blue checkmark.
• Sugarbook Live! You can livestream and watch private shows (if you’re a paid member, you get some coins to gift streamers as well!)

Overall, I was impressed with the freebies on Sugarbook. I wanted to get into messaging with potentials more though, so I ended up trying the paid subscription for a bit.

Cost & features for paid Sugarbook.com subscription

One of the more common letdowns I came across during my Sugarbook review was that people felt there weren’t enough premium features compared to other dating sites. While I totally get that, I felt like the premium features were still pretty important ones that would make it worth considering an upgrade.

Espeeeecially if we’re trying to find a sugar daddy/mommy! You have to spend money… to make money?? Or at least, earn dinners and fancy dates.

The prices for a premium Sugarbook membership are,

• 1 month: $21.95/month, plus you get 1,000 coins to buy gifts for streamers (which I’ll talk about in a bit)
• 3 month: $16.95/month, with the same number of coins (1,000)
• 6 month: $12.95/month… and for THIS subscription, you get 5,000 coins. Woo.

The paid features of Sugarbook.com are:

• Unlimited messages: I’m a chatterbox so you know I loved this one.
• 5x more profile views: Get featured on the dashboard and increase your profile engagement.
• Instant profile approvals: Skip the line VIP-style and get your profile approved first.
• Read receipts: No one likes being ghosted. See if they saw that message you sent!
• Hidden profile options: Hide your online status, join date, and last login country.
• Search premium members: Unlock Premium badges on daddies so you can see who is serious about finding someone.

While it’s not the flashiest list of premium membership features, I feel like Sugarbook makes them really attractive by how much they set your profile apart from the free ones.

Buying coins on Sugarbook app

Remember the coins I mentioned earlier? You can also buy coin packages if you wanna engage in livestreaming but don’t need a paid membership. The pricing below is in my account, so it may change by the time you read this review:

Sugarbook LIVE and private rooms for livestreaming!?

Ok so one fun thing I found while working on the Sugarbook review was the livestreaming and private rooms features! These were kinda surprising since most of the dating sites I’ve been on didn’t have options like this.

On the Sugarbook dating site, you can start livestreaming to put yourself out there and get the attention of all the sugar daddies you want. It’s basically like going live on TikTok, except this one is probably a little spicier and the viewers are probably wanting to get your attention with gifts as much as you’re trying to get theirs.

They also let you send invitations to sugar daddies you’re interested in to join you in a private room for a lil’ one-on-one time. Viewers can buy gifts for you using coins, and you can turn those gifts into diamonds that can be cashed out for dollars!

So even if you don’t find *the one* you can still make some cash moneyyyy. I love that for me. (and you!)

Sugarbook has even added a new Leaderboard page to show top earners and top gifters. It’s another way you can get your profile featured on the Sugarbook app and site so more sugar daddies can find you.

What sets Sugarbook apart from other dating sites?

K so, what sets Sugarbook apart from the rest imo? Some of the things I thought make it unique are,:

• The number of features available to free members.
• Blue checkmark verification badges so you know who’s legit.
• Streaming and video messaging gives you diff ways to connect.
• There are ways to make some money on the site without even meeting IRL via streaming gifts/tips on Sugarbook LIVE or with private rooms!
• They seem like they’re always adding features to expand what you can do on the site.
• Members are able to display their income. Now, whether it’s factual or not…
• They have their own livestreaming events to connect with the community and do giveaways!! Potentially winning free stuff?! Sign me up.

Pros and cons of Sugarbook dating

There's plenty to enjoy at Sugarbook.com, but what are the things that weren’t so hot? Let's get into it.

What I liked about Sugarbook (besides the daddies)

Being my first real experience with the idea of “dating up” and being a sugar baby, I gotta say I was impressed and liked the Sugarbook dating site. Some of the things I enjoyed:

• Being able to filter my search results with lots of options, even as a free member.
• I had a few messages after joining that seemed legit!
• I could see if people are verified on their profiles (which made me feel a lil’ bit safer.)
• The purpose of the site was clear and honest throughout, so no surprises or people feeling taken advantage of.
• There are options called “terms of relationship” so you can be clear with what you want.
• All subscription options offer the same premium features and you get free coins with each of them!

What I didn't like about Sugarbook.com

It can’t all be rainbows and butterflies. Some of the things I wasn’t a huge fan of when I was doing my Sugarbook review were:

• No type of Hot or Not game (even though I complain about this sometimes when it’s not well done, it’s one of my fave ways to pass the time on apps!)
• Limited premium features compared to some other sites.
• Only offers men for women, but then has LGBTQ options, which makes it confusing!?
• It seems like it skews heavily towards sugar babies as users, so competition is FIERCE.

Final thoughts for my Sugarbook review

Finally getting my first real experience with a new type of dating site was exciting. My girlfriends were right, and I can definitely see the appeal of “dating up.” I even had fun sharing some of the messages and matches I had with them over mimosas. (No Jenny, I didn’t end up messaging that guy back 🤐)

With the super easy sign up process, verification methods, and being able to jump right in meeting eligible singles, I’m calling this Sugarbook review a win. The other Sugarbook reviews I read along the way checked out with my own experience, and I can confidently say I’d use it again if I’m looking for a comfortable arrangement. Bye for now!!
