Even though I've been checking out some of the serious dating sites, I'm back to trying out some that are more about having some fun. My girlfriends were all talking about "dating up" and one accidentally (or so she says) started dating a sugar daddy. Never hurts to level up the dating game, right?
I decided it was time to check out some of these sites for meeting people who have a little more to offer. Since I'm kinda new to these types of arrangements, I wasn't sure how safe I would feel on a site where sugar daddies are looking to find a sugar baby.
I'd read about SeekingArrangement.com but noticed that it's been rebranded to Seeking.com. It seems they might not be focused on the sugar baby / daddy type arrangement anymore and just on "successful people." I wanted to get the scoop on whether or not this was true.
What was the Seeking Arrangement app originally?
Up until it changed direction, Seeking Arrangement was a site meant for sugar daddies and sugar babies to find each other. It didn't matter if you were a man or woman looking to spoil or be spoiled, they had people for you to meet.
The original Seeking Arrangement website focused a lot on looks and matching up attractive, successful people. Now they've switched gears, but elements of the old site still hang around (most traditional dating websites don't use annual income and net worth as big spots on your profile).
So what is Seeking.com best for now?
While they may be presenting themselves as a more mainstream dating site now, Seeking.com still has plenty of spots on user profiles for you to determine the kind of lifestyle they have! It's perfect if you're over trying to date people who might not have their sh*t together.
What I took away from Seeking.com is that it's full of beautiful, sexy, and successful people looking to meet up for adventures, flings, and maybe even forever. It's an active community, growing super fast lately to over 40 million users across 130 countries!
Is Seeking.com legit?
From what I could tell, it seems to be! There isn't a huge amount of account verification during sign-up but they do offer different types of background verification, including ID verification that's visible on dating profiles. This had me feeling much more comfortable, making it easy to immediately tell who is actually who they say they are.
The TL;DR on Seeking.com
- Seeking.com is the new version of Seeking Arrangement.
- The Seeking.com app and site are aimed at mainstream dating now.
- Even with the change, there's still a focus on lifestyle and income on profiles.
- The site is great, but a liiiittle more basic than some other dating websites I've tried.
What was the Seeking.com sign up process like?
The sign up process was super simple and only took a few minutes, even including the email verification. The homepage was swanky and sultry looking in red and black — they really gave me luxury vibes, which fits because they've rebranded to being a "luxury dating site for successful and attractive singles."
Is there a Seeking Arrangement app?
The good news is that yes, there is one! The bad news? It's really only available for Android users in the Google Play store. Unfortunately for iPhone users, there's not currently a Seeking app available for iOS. You can get a similar version by using the Seeking Progressive Web App (PWA) for iPhone.
Search filters on Seeking.com
Even as a free member on Seeking.com, the site has solid search capabilities. Free members can search by location, distance, ID verified users, users with photos, online now, age, height, hair color, education, smoking and drinking habits. Premium members can also search by annual income, net worth, and profile text.
Is Seeking Arrangements free to use?
Yep, it sure is! Free members are limited in what they can do though. To contact other users you'll need a paid membership, but free features include seeing who liked you, messaging, viewing profiles, searching with filters, and doing photo/social media verification.
Free vs. Premium subscription
Unlike many other dating sites, there's not a tiered paid scale. Instead, you pay a one-time fee or a monthly subscription. A 30-day Premium subscription is $14.99 for the first month, then $19.99 every 30 days. A 90-day subscription is $33.74 for the first 3 months.
Paid features include advanced privacy (hide online status, join date, last login country), advanced search filters, inbox filters, saved member notes, read message receipts, and an ad-free experience.
What sets Seeking.com apart?
- Free messaging — can send messages without paying first!
- Both ID verification and background checks visible on profiles.
- Multiple options for being incognito.
- Video messaging feature.
- The Vibes feature — post something for 24 hours, like Instagram stories.
Final thoughts on Seeking.com
I was pretty stoked to try a new type of dating site aimed at people of a certain lifestyle. While the original Seeking Arrangement review I set out to make had to change because of their rebranding, I feel like the new site is a win based on my experience.
Sure, one of the three guys I talked to seemed a little sus, but the other two were very much real! One of my fave things was being able to see if they had a background check or verified profile. All in all, I had fun!
