What is Single Parent Match & who is it for?

Single Parent Match was created in 2001 as a way for single parents to connect and make meaningful relationships. With its HQ based in Canada (according to its site) it’s owned by a Silicon Valley tech firm with a number of other dating sites.

Single Parent Match touts itself as the #1 dating site for single parents and is affiliated with the SuccessfulMatch.com network, which houses other dating sites such as SeniorMatch, and (as I was happy to see) other dating sites I’ve tried out like BiCupid and MillionaireMatch. When I was looking for singles, I noticed that most people were in their thirties/forties, and there were slightly more men than women.

Who is SingleParentMatch.com for?

The Single Parent Match dating site is best for,

✔️Single parents seeking other single parents looking for relationships.

✔️Single parents looking to match with singles that don’t have kids but are open to them.

✔️People looking for long-term relationships, or friendships.

SingleParentMatch.com might not be for you if,

✖️You’re not open to dating someone with children.

✖️You’re single and looking for a quick fling or short-term relationships.

✖️You’re in a relationship and looking to date another couple or individual. No swingers here!

So how does this single parent dating site work?

How does Single Parent Match work?

Single Parent Match makes it super easy to sign up for their site - just fill out the form right on the Single Parent Match dating site to get started!

After filling out the form, I was taken to a full-fledged sign up process but it took about 5 mins. Once in, I could refine anything in my profile and choose to get verified by proving my identity.

Once my profile was all adjusted, I was able to change my preferences to get different results in the "Discover" tab, or browse FLAME which gives me individual matches from the algorithm (similar to Tinder swiping). I could also use basic search with a free (Standard) account to manually look for someone I find attractive!

Once I found someone I was interested in, I could wink at them, or save them to my list. One of the coolest things was that I could respond to messages from Premium members, which I can't always do for free on dating apps!

Unfortunately to message anyone on the site, I’d have to upgrade. More on that later in my Single Parent Match review.

Is the Single Parent Match dating site legit?

✔️ Yes

Single Parent Match felt pretty legit to me and didn't give me the ick! I was relieved to see I didn't have "messages" waiting for me as soon as I signed up, and the profiles seemed genuine.

Add to the fact that Single Parent Match has been around for over 20 years and is an affiliate of the SuccessfulMatch.com network, and you've got a legitimate dating site! Also, when I was signing up, I had to verify my email address by typing in a code that was emailed to me - a small but simple step to provide an extra level of security.

Another small thing I appreciated is the Contact Us page had a number of different ways to get in touch with them – forms to send feedback/suggestions, a form to share your success story, snail mail if you want to go the old fashioned route, and a way to contact them about billing or claim issues.

📝 The TL;DR on Single Parent Match

Single Parent Match's signup process was very familiar to me since I have signed up for one of Successful Match's affiliate apps before. Here's what I noticed:

• When signing up for the Single Parent Match dating site, I was a little fooled by the "short" signup form on their site – you’ll def need more than just a few minutes to sign up.
• At first when I saw the main feed, I noticed that I was seeing people from out of state, until I realized I had my prefs set to "U.S." - oops!! Don't make the same mistake I did if you're looking for someone local!
• There were a few Single Parent Match reviews that thought the basic features were limited, which I could see.
• Profile verification for Single Parent Match is available! 🎉
• There’s both a free (Standard) and paid (Premium) account available.

Here's some questions I had once I was signed up:

Is SingleParentMatch only for single parents? Nope! I don't have a child, and it didn't dissuade others from chatting me up! As long as you like children and are open to the idea of having them in your life, then you're good.

How do I delete my Single Parent Match profile? If you found your match and want to delete your profile, then just look for your main pic, and then go to "My Account" and click on "Settings". You will be asked to enter your password and then click on "click here to disable or delete your account". Once deleted, your profile will be removed from the Single Parent Match dating site, but your account will be restored if you log in within six months.

Can I check my chat history? Yes you can! Click on "messages" in the navigation bar, choose the user to view, and check out your chat history.

Is Single Parent Match free to use? Yes! There’s a free (Standard) account available. It’s a bit limited but it’ll help you get a feel for this single parent dating site.

Is there a Single Parent Match trial? I didn’t see one. Sorry bbs.

Is there a Single Parent Match app?

📲 Nope.

There hasn't been a Single Parent Match app avail in over 20 years, so it doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon (but hey, a gal can dream!). Unless that day ever comes, we will have to resort to using the Single Parent Match dating site, but luckily you can use the website version on your phone.

What’s the sign up & registration process for SingleParentMatch?

🐕 Longer than I expected! Around 5 minutes.

Signing up for SingleParentMatch.com is convenient and easy by putting their signup form right on their homepage. Here's what the signup process is like:

1. Start by filling out the form - it's quick! The questions are very easy and include my gender, the gender I'm looking for, the age range I'm seeking, my country, and state. FYI - the genders could be more inclusive as they only provide male/female as options.

2. The next page is where I add my email address, read and agree to the service agreement and privacy policy, and prove I'm not a robot. 🤖

3. I'm gonna let you in on a little pet peeve of mine…what's the point of having these questions included in the signup form on the main page, only for me to answer them yet again? So here I go answering my gender and the gender I'm seeking AGAIN.

4. I create a clever password and put in my city, state, country, and my age.

5. Time to come up with a catchy username that will be seen by other members. My username can include letters, numbers, and underscores, but no special characters.

6. I can move the toggle button up and down to select my height.

7. I choose my ethnicity… you can only choose one and there's no back button, so keep this in mind when choosing. There is the option to click on "other" or "mixed race” as well.

8. Next up is giving the deets on my relationship status. There’s a variety to choose from, ranging from 100% single (✋) to married, to widowed, and everything in between.

9. Almost there! I show off my witty side and come up with a fun headline that everyone will see on my profile and in my search results. If I get sick of my headline, I can always go back and change it.

Don’t spend time being a perfectionist - you only need to have 10 characters!

10. I love storytime! I get to describe myself and who/what I'm looking for in a relationship. This has a 50 character minimum.

11. After I describe myself, I get to describe who my ideal match is. The more specific, the better!

12. Add those pics to get those views (20x more views to be exact!)!!!

13. Loving the extra layer of security here by asking me to verify my email address! Small, but significant.

14. After I verify my email address, I'm advised that it could take up to a day for my profile to be reviewed - this makes me feel safer knowing that there is a review process! If I want to speed things up then, I can upgrade my membership.

14 steps later and I'm taken to the main feed! (it goes a lot faster than it looks)!

The main feed may be plain, but packs a punch with tons of things to do on it. Here's just SOME of what I could access straight from the feed:

• Check my messages.
• See who liked me/winked at me/message me.
• Do a quick search for members.
• Check out new members.
• Verify my profile.
• Upload a video.
• View my latest activities.
• Check out my connections.
• Upgrade my membership.
• Try out unique features of Single Parent Match.

Overall, it’s a clean and simple to use design. Even though I’m early in my Single Parent Match review, I can tell there are a lot of features available to use already.

What are the Single Parent Match profiles like?

The Single Parent Match profiles are similar to the main feed - no crazy graphics, but I don't mind because I was able to get what I needed quickly.

Here's what I could do (or see!) from someone's profile. Get ready, it's a LOT!:

• Their profile headline.
• Their verification status
• View their age, name, and location.
• Peek at their pics and vids.
• Like, wink, or comment on their profile.
• Send a message and get pointers on what to say.
• I could remind them to add more pics, vids, and to verify their account.
• View their summary, "more about me", and their moments.
• Add a private note.
• View basics like gender, height, and ethnicity.
• See their info such as language, whether or not they have/want children, and if they have pets.
• Check out their gender, age range, and what they're looking for out of a relationship.

And on my profile, I could fill out and adjust basically anything I set up during the registration process. Depending on how much users decide to fill out, profiles can get really long, so I had to split this one into two screenshots!

Search capabilities for Single Parent Match Review

Aside from being able to search for a user by their username, I could use the Discover tab to find my matches. I was able to change my preferences on:

• Gender I'm looking for
• What the other person is looking for.
• Age range.
• Location.

If I found a search that was really fruitful, I also had the option to save it.

One thing I noticed is that it has international options when adjusting the search features, however it showed me 0 results outside of the US when trying various countries. It’s possible I had filters that were too strong, but something to keep in mind if you’re looking to find someone internationally (or traveling!)

FLAME search

This was fun to use! It’s similar to Tinder, where I was given someone who the algo gods think are a good match, and I can pass, heart (like) them, or hit undo if I made a bad decision on the previous match.

This is a nice break from manually browsing, and I’m all about it!

Premium search filters for Single Parent Match

I was able to narrow down my search with a lot of different options with the Premium search filters! IMO, the advanced search filters are good enough, but here’s a look at the paid ones I noticed before upgrading to try them (and other features! out):

Is SingleParentMatch free to use?

I was able to use SingleParentMatch.com for free and could access a useful amount of features. I was actually surprised by what I could do for free - including replying back to some messages! I’ll get into this below.

Standard vs. Premium membership for Single Parent Match

Free is always better right??!! Well, not always, but you def get to test the SIngle Parent Match dating site to find out! This Single Parent Match review will break down the benefits of the Standard membership package vs. the Premium membership package.

Features of Standard (free) membership for Single Parent Match

The features of Single Parent Match's Standard membership are small but mighty. There's only 4 features I could use for free, but I could do wayyyy more with the Single Parent Match's Standard membership than I could do with other dating apps.

Here's what I mean:

• I was able to create a profile with pics.
• I could send up to 100 likes per day.
• Swipe up to 50x per day.
• Send and receive daily winks.
• Receive AND reply to messages from Premium members - score!!
• Basic search.
• Access to use FLAME for Tinder style swiping/matching.
• First date ideas.

All in all, I felt there was a decent amount to do on SingleParentMatch.com with the Standard account, since I was able to Wink at people I thought were cuties, plus receive and respond to messages from Premium members instead of having no access to do that at all.

If being a Standard member isn't enough, there's always the option to upgrade to a Premium membership.

Single Parent Match's premium membership gives you not one a ton of specialty features!! That's more than I usually see! With the premium membership, I had access to everything that was included with the Standard membership, plus:

• Can see who viewed me.
• Unlimited rewinds!
• Check to see who liked me.
• More options for profile privacy.
• Access to advanced searches.
• Exclusive emojis - yay!! 🥳
• Can like as many people as I want.
• I am able to send unlimited winks. 😉
• Search by distance.
• Control who sees me.
• Change my username.
• Pin to the top.
• Switch my chat wallpapers.
• Get more new features as they come out.
• Auto reply messages if you’re busy and don’t want to leave a message hanging.
• Have my profile reviewed in the next three mins during the signup process.

The pricing options aren't too crazy for Single Parent Match, but remember that you will need to pay upfront for the membership. Here's the pricing breakdown:

What sets Single Parent Match apart?

Dating sites can blend together after a while, so I'm always looking for unique features that will make them stand out. Single Parent Match has a few standout features such as:

• Email verification upon signup and then I needed to verify my profile with either my ID or a selfie video.
• Could send a wink to show someone I'm interested in them by picking an auto response with a witty message.
• Discover lets you switch your preferences of who you're looking for and will show you member profiles based on those choices.
• I appreciate that you can be single without children on the platform if you’re looking to date someone with kids.
• There were a few great features for Standard (free) accounts that other sites didn’t allow you to use unless you upgraded!

Pros and cons of Single Parent Match

Dating has its pros and cons in life, including virtual dating! When looking for a dating site or app, I usually weigh the good and bad to see if it's worth investing in. Let's see what I thought worked and didn't!

✅ What I liked about the Single Parent Match app

Single Parent Match has a lot to like about it, but what? Well, I'm about to tell you…right…now!

• I could respond to messages from Premium members which was a huge plus for me!
• Short signup process - we're talking less than 10 mins!
• A great place for single parents to meet each other.
• Legit looking profiles.
• Several different ways to verify my profile.
• Phone number available for customer service, plus multiple other ways to contact them.

❌What I didn’t like the about Single Parent Match app

As much as I enjoyed the Single Parent Match dating site, there were a few things that I didn't like so much. Here's what was a bit of a turn off:

• No Single Parent Match app.
• For a dating site for parents, there weren't really any extensive qs about kids.
• Could use a live chat feature.
• The pricing was a bit higher than most. Not a deal breaker obvi because there were a ton of features to back it up, but felt it had to be pointed out.

So, final thoughts for my SingleParentMatch review?

SingleParentMatch definitely opened my eyes and gave me a new appreciation for single parents! I thought the extra layers of security were important, but was surprised to see there weren't many children-focused questions for a parent site.

There wasn’t a barrage of “fake” seeming messages in my inbox which was a relief, and for those I chatted with, it seemed genuine!

My fave part though was getting to check out all the zaddies. 😏I’d say the Single Parent Match app is def worth checking out if you’re someone interested in dating someone with kids, or a single parent yourself.
