Are you ready for a change from my typical reviews? So am I, tbh.
In my search to find my perfect person, I was attracting a lot of dudes even when I set my prefs to be interested in everyone. I was spending more time at brunch sharing matches with my girlies who were men, and even they brought up the question of why matches with women were so few and far between.
Sooo I decided to put a short pause on the apps that included both genders, and focus my efforts on LGBTQ+ type apps to see if cupid would strike. After a bit of digging and internet rabbit holes, I came across PinkCupid… so here we are!
Does my Pinkcupid.com review result in a perfect shot or did it miss the mark?
Time to find out!
Doesn’t the name give it away a little bit? 😉PinkCupid.com dating is for lesbians and bisexual women looking to build a communicative and loving connection. It is a female-only dating app focused on creating a safe and trusting atmosphere.
Most members appear to be in my age range (25-34) so it definitely skews younger in age.
PinkCupid is owned by Cupid Media which has been in business for 20+ years and is one of the largest dating networks. They technically launched their first dating site back in 2000! Besides their years of experience, they also have a large database of women daters and plenty of success stories. There is also a dedicated team at PinkCupid.com that checks profiles to make sure there aren't any scammers lurking around.
Some PinkCupid.com reviews I've read mention that guys have been seen catfishing as women, so it's important to trust your instincts and report anything that seems sketchy to you.
PinkCupid.com dating is a nice break from the unsolicited pics (you know which ones I'm talking about!) and the DTF messages I was getting. It was cool to know that not every convo would be sexual, which made me want to communicate with other users even more. Here are some other interesting bits I picked up while exploring.
There is definitely a PinkCupid.com dating app to take your dating on the go! The Android and iOS apps have a cute pink theme and are super easy to use. You can find them in the app store, or just go onto the homepage and scroll down for the download links.
Get ready for the fastest signup of your life! When they say, "start meeting singles in minutes", they weren't kidding! PinkCupid.does.not.play!!
So what's involved in the registration process? Keep reading my PinkCupid.com review to find out!
Yaassss! Multitasking at its finest! I'm so sick of going to one full page for my first name, and another whole page to enter my age. PinkCupid knows what women are looking for: something functional, smart, and does multiple things.
Next up is entering the country I live in, state, and city/town. Btw, are those dots up top for real?! I'm only one step away from finishing the registration process?! Seems too good to be true considering how long some other dating sites take. There's gotta be a catch… maybe it’s me. 😄
Next up, I enter my email address and the password I wanna use… and hold my breath as I wait for the moment of truth.
OMG I think I'm in love (with this dating app)! I'm already signed up and viewing the main feed in 3 easy steps!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL OF MY APP DATING LIFE, PINKCUPID?!
One thing I noticed about this compared to a few other dating sites is there are so many options that you can choose to build it out! I was curious how search filters would work without the sign up process being uber detailed, and this is how. Here’s a quick snapshot of what it looked like before I started filling it out:
These questions were fairly normal, and they continued on to ask things like what pets you have, if you have children, and so on.
You can ALSO answer questions related to your personality – things like what kind of music you like, are you open to a partner with a culture different from yours, if you have traveled/like to travel, etc. I even saw a question asking if you’re out of the closet yet which is actually a great thing to know.
Last, you can select basically any hobby or interest under the sun. This was just a small example of what was available:
Now, onto the search filters!
The search features on the PinkCupid.com dating app are PHENOMENAL. Like, I've never seen so many advanced filters on a free account before. Here's just a brief list of what I could filter my search by:
If you can dream them, you can find them. Hey PinkCupid, if you need someone to brainstorm some taglines, I’m avail ;)
The PinkCupid app is free AF to use! It had a decent amount of features for free, so let’s review those, along with what you can get if you pony up some $$.
Not everything in life is free, so I always get excited when something is! Is the free version enough on its own or am I better off paying for a membership? Let's see!
The free tier has enough features for me to get a good grasp on the site and leave me wanting more. Here's what I could do for free:
There are three different payment tiers to choose from on the PinkCupid.com app: Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.
One thing to know about the paid tiers is that your subscription will renew automatically unless you cancel your membership before it renews. So if you’re used to paying the “oops I forgot” tax, mark the renewal date down on your calendar.
Here's a breakdown of each:
You have three options when it comes to pricing for the subscription plans: pay for a week, a month, or 3 months. I didn't find the prices to be too expensive when compared to other dating sites.
Here's what you can do with the PinkCupid Gold package:
The PinkCupid Platinum plan is obvi more expensive but you also get more bang for your buck. Here's what you can do with the Platinum package:
The third and final subscription package is the PinkCupid Diamond tier - oooh! They say diamonds are a gal’s best friend right?
This subscription gives you everything that you see in the Gold and Platinum tiers, plus:
Right off the bat, PinkCupid.com sets itself apart from other apps by being exclusive to women.
And TRUST ME, I spent a lot of time looking for different LGBTQ+ dating apps with a focus on those who identify as women, and not men. More on those to come, tho.
PinkCupid caters specifically to lesbians and those who are bi or bi-curious. Here's what else sets PinkCupid.com apart from the rest:
Knowing the pros and cons of any dating app can help in making the right decision, especially when the paid tiers are involved. Let's jump straight into it so you can make your decision!
There was a lot that I did like about PinkCupid.com including:
Honestly, there wasn't much I didn't like about the PinkCupid.com dating app, but if I had to choose, these would be it:
There was a lot to like about this site including the cute pink theme and various safety procedures. I looooved being able to send messages, it was just frustrating not being able to read any responses.
I did get a good amount of interest on this site and I saw a lot of potential in who I matched with as well! My favorite part though was that this site took away the guesswork from knowing what everyone's sexuality pref was, as everyone on here was looking for the same thing.
Speaking of, I think I'm going to stay on here for a bit longer and meet some new gals…til’ next time! 👋
