I've had a bit of a sweet tooth for a sugar momma lately, and nothing seems to satisfy it. The sugar daddies were fun, but I'm looking for something a little…softer with more communication. It hadn't occurred to me that there's sugar mommas as well until I came across Seeking Cougar. I had a total light bulb moment to create an account and give the cougars out there some love - will they be just as entertaining as the sugar daddies? From the Seeking Cougar reviews I read out there (a girl’s gotta do her research!) it seemed like a legit platform to find a match.
While Seeking Cougar’s homepage seems to focus on sugar mommas finding “handsome young men”, I found that I was able to say I was looking for a sugar momma in my search preferences! So if you’re a woman seeking a sugar momma, this could be the site for you.

Seeking Cougar could use an interface overhaul, but that's an easy fix. Here's what else caught my attention about Seeking Cougar:
How to delete Seeking Cougar account: deleting my Seeking Cougar account seems super easy. I just need to go to my settings, click on privacy, and click on deactivate my account.
Seeking Cougar blog: if it's your first time being in a sugar relationship, then the Seeking Cougar blog might be helpful with its tips and guides on dating with an age gap.
How to keep Seeking Cougar profile privacy: I can keep my profile safe by adding any users who make me uncomfortable to my blacklist. This will prevent them from contacting me.

When I was on Seekingcougar.com to register, I saw that I could also get the app on the App Store or at Google Play. However, when I went to download either app, the name changed from Seeking Cougar to Cougar: Older Women Dating App, so I’m not sure if it’s considered the same thing or a different site they own?
I was also able to access Seeking Cougar on my mobile device through Seekingcougar.com.
My initial thought about the signup process was that the registration form was outdated and could use a modern twist. Here's what else I thought about the signup process:
1. To start the signup process, I had to choose who I was and who I was looking for. There were only two options:
When I choose sugar boy, it grays out the option for sugar boy in the "looking for" section so I can only choose sugar momma. I found out I could change this later, however, not very inclusive so far.
2. I'm then taken to the main feed where I can search. Even though I said I was a sugar boy looking for a sugar momma, I'm taken to the results of…. sugar boys? Maybe this site knows I'm lying somehow? Weird…
3. Since I want to show you what the rest of the sign up process looks like, I get out of the main feed and click on register. Now I see a cute lil’ registration form with a few questions such as my email, location, DOB, username, password, who I am, and who I'm looking for.
4. I'm asked to verify my email address by clicking on the link that was sent to me - FYI this needs to be done within 12 hours. Double FYI - my initial verification email got sent to spam.
5. I can upload a few pics if I want to attract more users. Once I upload my pic, I click on "complete my profile".
6. I'm able to edit my profile and can write a brief bio (every time you change your bio, it will go through an approval process so beware!), as well as describe my:

It took me a little bit of time to find the main feed for some reason (hint: I had to look alllll the way at the bottom of the page and click on someone's profile pic). Anyways, here's what it looks like:

…And that’s it. Pretty basic.
If I click the “My Account” dropdown, I can check on my verification status, friends, favorite, blacklist, settings, and privacy settings.
As far as user account settings, they’re extremely basic as well. Remember how I mentioned the whole “your profile is visible to everyone” thing earlier? WELL! In the My Account drop down,under Privacy, you’re able to change this to only friends or registered users, which is what I immediately did.
I click on a hottie's profile, and notice that the layout is pretty bare…just a white background with their location, the last time they were online (which was a WHILE ago), their horoscope, and a few other deets. I had the option to write a message or add as a friend, though I couldn't do either because I had an inactive profile.

The search filters are pretty basic on Seeking Cougar's dating site, so it would be nice to see some new capabilities added. Still, I had quite a few search options to choose from, including some advanced filters:
I noticed when clicking on “Location” in the basic search that it only showed me a handful of countries, and even though I see US based singles on here, it doesn’t let me choose it here.

The free version lets you test the site out without paying a dime, but the catch is that you don't get to check out EVERY feature. Seeking Cougar has a legit screening process that prevented me from trying out the whole site at first, so I would def say yes, this site is legit from that standpoint. Not just anyone can register the site, or at least they can't access it in its entirety. I do like how the Seeking Cougar team manually verifies every profile pic and bio description as well.
There were a few red flags – the private policy and TOS didn’t seem well written, and the copyright at the bottom of the page was still 2022. 🤔There were other areas of the site that didn’t feel well written, and after spending time on other dating apps with amazing design and brand voice, this felt a little off!
Additionally, after being on the site for a bit of time (at least a week) I was only reached out to by one person who was interested in me with Lorem Ipsum dummy text. Sigh.
And!! Nobody viewed my profile! Compared to other dating sites, this had the least action if I wasn’t initiating. I went into this really excited, and I feel Seeking Cougar is legit as a company, but the members and platform – not so much.
I had fun checking out the cougars, but I thought the site could use a little updating and modernization. While I also appreciate the profile verification process, I think the amount it takes to verify could be shortened.
Additionally, it took quite some time for my profile to get attention, where I’m normally used to getting notifications almost as soon as I sign up. While it has a large user base, it doesn’t appear to be as active as some other cougar or sugar dating sites I’ve been on - a lot of people I checked out hadn’t been on for months! So overall? It’s worth a shot if you’re planning on spending some time on SeekingCougar.com and not just looking for a quick match!
