Only Flirts - like most casual hookup sites – definitely gave me some good and ast fun. With 4000+ members (at the time of this writing – and according to the site) it’s relatively small. In fact, much smaller than some of the niche sites I tried out like Date Player Two, but I decided to give it a shot anyway!
Sooo let’s get into my Only Flirts review where I spill the tea on the good stuff, the bad stuff, and whatever is in-between.
I had no idea so you probably don’t either. You can tell right away that this site is trying to be like another site that begins with “Only.” 😂 I’m actually surprised they were able to get away with using such a similar logo, lol.
Anyway, Only Flirts is a dating app where you can match with users by giving them a thumbs-up or thumbs-down, then chat with them. Think Tinder but a fraction of the size. Instead of having a paid tier, you pay a small fee to message others.
The nice thing about Only Flirts is they have a global presence, which you’ll see near the footer if you’re wanting to switch locations. So if you love the platform and travel a lot (like I tend to do, although this is the summer of staying local for me) you’ll have a familiar dating site to use.
Researching this site, I realized that it was controversial (to say the least.) Many claim that the users on the site are bots designed to milk your wallet dry. There have been horror stories of people spending hundreds of dollars to message someone who refuses to take the relationship outside of the site. Talk about next-level flakey!
Personally, I have found real people on there (maybe it’s because I’m a woman looking for both guys and gals so I have a bigger group of people to pick from) but as always, I’d advise you to be cautious. If the person looks too good or perfect to be true, then they probably are!
So what kinda matches did I find on Only Flirts? I’d probably classify them as “spirited singles” who were definitely dtf, “curious newbies” who were kinda new to the hookup scene but pretty enthusiastic when chatting with them, “genuine connectors” who may be there under the guise of a hookup but def seemed like they were looking for something more long-term, and fun adventurers” that were kinda like spirited singles, I guess, but seemed way more interesting. Some other stuff I wanted to check out:
How to cancel Only Flirts account: It seems pretty simple to cancel. First go up to your avatar, click into your settings, look for billing history, then click “deactivate subscription.” As I found out the hard way, this doesn’t actually delete your account.
How to delete Only Flirts account completely: If I leave a dating site I like to get rid of everything. Only Flirts lets you delete your account and photos by going to your settings, then scrolling to the “remove account” button.
What’s the coin system?: While not entirely free to use, Only Flirts does allow you to earn free coins so you can send messages, photos and stickers, rather than only having you pay for them. The activities are limited however, so you can’t continuously do them. This includes things like verifying your email, verifying your profile, adding 3 gallery photos, etc. I received 40 upon signing up.
Does Only Flirts have a trial? Nah, they don’t. BUT. I was given a handful of coins to use when I signed up so I guess that’s kinda like a trial without actually signing up for one.
Cool, so now that we got that out of the way, let’s dive deeper into the Only Flirts reviews.
Only Flirts doesn’t have an app for iOS or Android that I could actually find, booo. However it does have a responsive website that allows for a mobile version to be used easily. The downside here is you’re not able to get notifications to an app. I wasn’t keen on logging in to Only Flirts or my email to see if I was pinned or messaged so, that docks a few points personally.
Signing up for Only Flirts is quick and straightforward. This is what I had to do to sign up:
Sign up with your gender identity and who you’re seeking, create a user name, add your email, password, birthday and where you’re located.
It’s worth noting that when you sign up, there’s a very limited set of options for who you are and what you’re looking for, with only Male, Female, Couple, and Transgender:
Once you sign up, you’re dropped on a page that asks you to verify your email, upload pics, fill out your bio etc.
It also includes some potential matches. The matches have a very wide radius (I’m in NYC and was seeing Minneapolis suggestions) so you likely won’t find anything on this screen. I also had a pop up that told me I had 40 coins in my account now (woo!).
For your profile, you’ve given the run of the mill options like height, weight, eye color, body type, body art, star sign, dating status (a nice addition), and things like smoking and drinking habits. You’ll also get to set the interests I mentioned earlier.
Since there’s a manual verification process on the photos submitted, you may not have access to the full features (like Pins) until that’s complete. It didn’t take very long for me to get verified.
After that, I was free to roam and explore some matches.
When I first signed up and as I was completing my profile, what I saw as far as the main page when signing up in the last section is actually what the site looks like. It’s very basic and minimal. So I guess if you’re someone who gets overwhelmed easily, this is great.
As far as search capabilities, here’s what I noticed and my initial impressions:
What I did find odd is I couldn’t search by some of the info I had to add in my profile – ie, star signs, smoking and most of the others.
Yup, Only Flirts is free but Coins are required to access certain features. While you get access to some free Coins initially (like the 40 I got for free), you’re going to want to get more to use the core functionality of Only Flirts.
OnlyFlirts lets you do basic activities for free. While extremely limited, it does have a few perks.
Yeah, I ended up ponying up for more. I ended up using the coins they gave me and once you have a taste of unlimited messages, it’s kinda hard to go back. Only Flirts uses a coin based system, and it has short-term paid features. This means that you don’t pay monthly or annually, but by a day up to a week.
And.. that’s it. Hmm.
Despite it being kinda minimal compared to other dating sites, there are some things I liked that set it apart like,
Otherwise, there aren’t too many things that set it far apart from other dating sites. It was created around 2021, so it’s still a relatively new site, but it feels more like a site from the long-gone era and not the 2020s.
I guess an Only Flirts review wouldn’t be complet without hashing out both the good and the bad.
Some of the good stuff I liked included,
This site has some yikesy things about it that I personally didn’t like, such as:
So.. my thoughts after the Only Flirts review?
Only Flirts is limited, and with its messaging locked behind microtransactions, it may turn off many people. After using it for a bit and finding some matches, I was ready to hop off for a bit but it’s def worth exploring.
Again, this site is still new, so maybe its creators can make it better. I did leave my account active for now, so maybe I’ll come back and see some interesting changes in the future.
