One Night Stand Review: It Delivered [2024]

Expectations on the One Night Stand dating site

Well. The expectation is finding someone to hookup with. There’s literally no hiding that, but it’s what I appreciated about it. It can feel really MEH to go on a site that isn’t as up front and get blasted with dick pics and DTF messages when that’s not what you’re looking for.

At least this one is a beacon of “don’t come here unless you wanna cum here” ya know?

If you’re looking for a more serious relationship, this isn’t for you.

The TLDR; on One Night Stand

Ok first off, I got a pretty decent amount of messages as soon as I signed up. I can’t say the same for some other sites even though I used the same profile pic. Overall, it was simple, minimal and had some interesting profile options that I hadn’t seen on other dating sites.

How to cancel One Night Stand account:

This is simple. Just head over to your settings and click “delete profile” at the bottom. They also have a link in the FAQ if you’re unable to find it.

Does One Night Stand have a trial?

No, I didn’t see a trial at the time of me signing up. I think they don’t offer this because they have a money back guarantee on their paid membership if you don’t find a date.

Can you send photos on the One Night Stand site?

Yup! Some apps make it difficult to send images in messages because they want to prevent unwanted pics, but you’re able to send them on One Night Stand if you’d like.

Is there a One Night Stand premium account?

Yup. And you’ll be able to be your unhinged self if you wish and chat with as many people as humanly possible if that’s what you’re looking for.

Is there a One Night Stand app?

Nah. I mention this a bit later in the One Night Stand review but I wasn’t able to find one.

Is One Night Stand legit?

I always go into the casual or hookup dating sites being skeptical because (as a woman) it’s much easier to get messages from skeevy guys anyway so it’s hard to discern what’s real, what’s a bot, or what’s just fishing (or phishing!) for info.

I make some real connections here, but I’m also super careful about who I share information with. All in all, if you’re asking yourself ‘is One Night Stand legit’ I’d say yes.]

Is there a One Night Stand mobile app?

I looked for one, but couldn’t find one. Sometimes mobile apps are under a different name so it can be kinda confusing, but I didn’t see an option that mentioned a One Night Stand app for iOS or Android.

How to sign up and create a profile for One Night Stand

Registering on the One Night Stand dating site is really quick. Kinda like matching on the site, lol.

1. First off, you’ll click what your gender is, and what gender you’re looking for. You’ll also add your state here (not your city or zip code).

   

   What I thought was strange was not being able to choose multiple genders (since I’m looking for both men and women) but also how limited the genders were in general. Most other sites have an extensive list outside of m/f.

2. 2. I actually forgot to grab a screenshot of this, but the next screen asked for my age, user name, email address, and password. I also could sign up directly with my Google account if I wanted to for a quicker sign in.

3. 3. Once you do that, you’re dropped right into your profile where you can add a profile image and other info. It asked me to verify my email address once I was in there also.

   

   Your profile asks for the usual – marital status, you can finally set your city here for better matches, and a bio (which they say gets verified – not really sure how that works, but maybe it’s to prevent button mashers who don’t put real info in.)

   For what I was seeking, I was able to add things like hair/eye color, body type, height, weight, ethnicity, as well as what I was open to, like just friendship, gym/sports (!), chats, friends with benefits, just dinner dates, and so on.

   As far as sexual interests, there’s also a section to add what you’re looking for there, like BDSM, cybersex (ooo baby this sounds like the 90s), role playing, couple exchange (aka, a nice way to say swinging) and so on.

   One unique thing I could add for preferences was “character.” At first, I thought it had to do with role playing, but it has to do with the person’s actual character, like entrepreneur, curious, jealous, strong natured, etc. Pretty neat to be able to choose these (though why anyone would want to pick “jealous” is beyond me.)

   I checked off a couple of the options and let the algo gods do their thang.

Search and match capabilities for One Night Stand

My personal homepage had popular members and new members I could take a peek at. It also had a recent activity feed that told me who sent me icebreakers, looked at my profile, and so on.

Once I dug into the filters, I could do things like…

• Set up a “quick search” which is just by a specific gender, location radius, profiles with pictures (to keep dead profiles out of search), and age range.
• OR, a more advanced search, which let me filter by all the preferences I set up in my profile (hair, eye color, body type, etc), what the person was open to as far as a relationship, preferences in the bedroom, and that whole “character” thing again.

Is One Night Stand free?

As you’ve probably suspected by now bbs, there are free options but also a premium membership to use it to the max. Personally, I feel like the free features are limiting, but they do help you to dip your toe in and decide if you want commitment. <3

One Night Stand’s free membership

The free membership lets you scope what the site has to offer, but before you get hot and dirty, know that you are limited. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of features, but this is standard for most dating sites. I was able to…

• Create and browse profiles
• See who visited and/or liked my profile.
• Have some limited communication and my limited communication, I mean you can receive messages or flowers, but you can’t actually send them.
• See some… things 👀There are also webcams, which take you over to stripchat.com if you click them. I’m not much into cams but I know this is a plus for a lot of people.

While free members can express interest in other users by sending winks or likes, their communication options are limited. I wasn’t even able to start a profile until I paid up.

Being a premium member of One Night Stand

Once you’ve put some money down, you can have some fun.

The paid membership has a few different credit tiers, so you can save some money if you know you’ll be using a lot of credits right away. At the time of me signing up and trying it out, this is what I had for the credit prices:

• $29 for 150 credits
• $49 for 300 credits
• $99 for 750 credits
• $299 (!!) for 2500 credits.

You can also boost your visibility for $10 on each package.

With these credits, you’re able to…

• Send messages: 10 credits equals 1 message, so for $29 will get you about 15 messages.
• Improve search visibility: Pay to play (this is also an additional fee)
• Premium member badge: This badge makes you look a bit more serious.
• Free icebreakers! If you’re struggling with what to say, the icebreakers are great to… break the ice. These are emojis like flowers. You get 5 free ones, and then it’s 2 credits for them moving forward.

What I actually LOVED about this paid membership is their guarantee. If you don’t find a date, you can get your money back. I didn’t try this out (because I found some matches pretty quickly) so I’m curious if it actually works though. If you sign up and end up using the money back guarantee, lemme know.

What sets One Night Stand apart?

There weren’t a ton of unique features if we’re being honest, but there were a few things I liked in general about One Night Stand:

1. What you see is what you get: Everyone on the site is… there to hookup. There’s no surprises.
2. Character: This was a unique profile item to set up and be able to search for. So if you’re a curious cat like me looking for someone who is just as curious so you can rabbit hole together (during your one night stand, I guess?) you can find them.
3. Money back guarantee: I didn’t have to use this, but the money back guarantee on the premium account is pretty damn cool.
4. VIP member spotlight: Ok so, there isn’t actually a SPOTLIGHT but there’s a neat little box on the left that shows you VIP (paid) members

The good and bad of One Night Stand

If you look online, One Night Stand is a pretty polarizing website. While trying out the site for a few weeks and working on this One Night Stand review, I didn’t think it was half bad. *shrugs*

What I liked about One Night Stand

• I liked how you could drill down into what you’re looking for … things like “a dinner date.” Even though it’s a hookup site, being able to say what you’re seeking beyond just the spicy stuff is great.
• It’s pretty simple and minimal. Not that it’s lacking features, but it was just clean and easy to use.

What I didn’t like about One Night Stand

Of course, there are a lot of cons as well. Here’s what I didn’t care for when using One Night Stand.

• There were… some fails: While I didn’t have as negative of an experience as some others have had, I did meet an account or two that didn’t seem like a real person. For the most part, the accounts were legit but gotta watch out for the tricky ones if you’re a gal.
• Credits: This is kind of a double-edged sword. On one hand, I like being able to get credit packages rather than committing to a subscription I can forget about. But on the other hand, I spent.. a lot, without realizing it.
• Kinda limited: I feel like there are other casual fling websites that do it better, offering a more unique experience. Maybe this site will grow in the future.

So final thoughts for my One Night Stand review?

One Night Stand is a fine website for casual flings, but could def use some additional features. Everything it had was great to use and it had all the usual suspects in terms of features, but if you’re someone who enjoys more engaged connections (like video chats) this won’t be the best for you.

That said, if you’re looking for a hookup and want to get matched pretty quickly, this seemed to do a good job. For me, at least!
